Weekend Wrap-up (5/26/08)
As our New Media Director, JC Medina, would oftenly ask everyone in the office - How was your weekend? Well, I had a really busy one. Last friday night, I went to my sister’s dance recital and at 2AM on Saturday, I had to go to the airport to fly to Cebu for the Mural Painting Ceremony. I stayed at Cebu overnight and left Sunday at 6AM. Upon arriving at Manila, I got some much deserved sleep before waking up noontime to get ready to go to Victory Greenhills for Sunday service. Oh, I met Pilita Corales before going home, haha. Here are some more stories and pics for you guys to enjoy.
Faith’s Dance Recital
Here’s the video of my sister’s dance recital. The quality of the video isn’t too good since I was really far from the stage. She’s the one in front, left side of the stage. Personally I found the dance ok but the production was really bad. The organizers didn’t bother decorating the venue and the emcee had horrible grammar and diction. Since the parents are paying alot for this, they should have invested more in making the venue more acceptable.
Her teacher for this was Niko Bolante of the All-Stars dance group. Congratulations to my sister for delivering a very good performance! I’m proud of you. Even if you lost your bag and I had to replace your lost cellphone with my U700 (LOL).
Meeting Pilita Corales

After the service at Victory Greenhills, I saw Pilita Corales in her restaurant bar. Since I had nothing else to do and I knew it would be good blog material, I went up to her and asked for her if I could have a picture taken with her. Woohoo. Buti na lang mabait si Ms. Pilita and she gamely accepted and we had a brief conversation about Philippine Idol.
I won’t talk about what she actually said but let me share with you guys my personal opinon on Pinoy Idol (being ran by GMA now). It really sucks. I have no idea why Jolina is a judge… she has no singing credentials and it would have been much better if they picked Jaya or even Dulce. Also, I don’t like how Raymond is hosting it. Ryan did a much better job when he was hosting for ABC 5.
I won’t talk about the mural painting event yet since it will take me like at least 2 posts to discuss it. I’ll try to write about it on Monday or Tuesday. I still have to load the pics from my phone.

i agree with your opinion regarding pinoy idol. honestly though i myself don’t understand why GMA has pinoy idol when it was ABC5 who first brought the Idol franchise to the Philippines. Was abc’s version not the legal one? and yeah channel 5 did a good job of running it (i remember it because my former college classmate was one of the contestants back then — i remember nakasali ata sya sa final 24 pero i don’t know what happened afterwards).

Hey Kuya!! :D Buti na lang I chanced upon your site, or else I wouldn’t have seen Faith’s performance! I can hear Ate Dane screaming in the background. Hahaha. Please tell them I miss them and give them a big hug for me :)
Congratulations kay Faith for a wonderful dance recital!

pinoy idol really sucks.. I didn’t even have a thought that they(GMA) have invested much on that show. they just wanted to rip off another worldwide TV hit so that they will generate more audiences but sadly I think it became the other way around. I think much more GMA television viewers turned their backs off on supporting the channel they once loved . just take a look at their set, their orchestra, and sadly their female judge as you(kuya wauks) has mentioned she don’t even have singing credentials.. LMAO^^
