Waukster Anime Reco: Gundam 00
Other than doing my usual religous obligations for Holy Week, I also decided to sit back, relax, and watch several anime series that I wasn’t able to do lately because of all the work at Level Up. While watching, I got the idea of making this post - which is basically a recommendation of several anime titles that I think are worth your time. To start things off, I’ll share with you guys my favorite anime title so far - Gundam 00. Feel free to share your comments and suggestions as well!
GUNDAM 00
This is by far the best robot anime that I’ve ever watched. I’m sure though that not everyone will appreciate this because the plot of this latest Gundam franchise has a lot of politics and drama. I wouldn’t be surprised if the society depicted in this series will actually turn out to be our own future.
PLOT SUMMARY
Gundam 00 is set in 2307-2308 AD and at this point in time fossil fuels and several natural resources were completely consumed already by the human race. In order to live, the human race created solar powered generator satellites. There are three solar elevators all in all and they are controlled by the three major powers in the world - the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations, the Human Reform League (HRL), and the Advanced European Union (AEU).
Obviously when there are different alliances and natural resources at stake - shit literally hits the fan and a massive war errupts between the three alliances. The war doesn’t only affect the countries in the alliance, but also all the other nations who become battlegrounds against their will.
This is where the Gundams come in. An organization called the Celestial Being becomes public and declares their mission in life to eradicate all war in the world. How do they do this? By having their kick ass Gundams “intervene” in all military acts. Yes, that means they blow up everyone who wants to start a war or is currently engaged in conflict.
I won’t go further into detail because that would spoil your viewing experience. To end, let me share with everyone a clip of the latest fight of Gundam Exia where he goes Trans-Am mode, similar to the Super Saiyan mode of Goku in Dragonball Z.

Yey~ Hilig din pla fafs wauks gundam00, complete ko e2 mula ep 1 eh . Anyways, Mas maganda ang gundam00 compared to seed(for me), in terms of story and character design/animation. Sa seed kac pag wala hair mga characters, di mo n alam kung cnu2 hehe, magkakamukha. Ung mecha design din ng gundam00 eh
“unique” compared to the previous gundam series, a FRESH & NEW look on gundams. Sa gundam seed kac halos “recycled” n ung designs ng Gundams, but dont get me wrong I STILL LOVE SEED. Last 2 episodes na ng season 1 ng gundam00. itu2loy ulet sa sept/oct 2008? This new installment on the gundam franchise is a MUST SEE.~!! cant wait for episode 24..

Actually iniisip ko after ko mapanuod yung 24 kung ano na nangyari kay nena at kay graham? Si Nena bigla na lang iniwan si Setsuna ata tapos si Graham wala na nabulok na ata astig pa naman nu Grahanm no kuya wauks ^^

hmm… it functions kinda like overdrive psycommu system by seabrook arno’s F-91 gundam.
its really hitting the grassroots of the universal century concept.

ang gundam 00 ay pinaghalong mga elements ng previous gundam series and movies, like gundam seed and destiny. un nga lang, mas maganda ito kumpara sa seed na…ehem…masyadong malamya. pero try nyo rin panoorin ung first gundam, ung kay amuro, dun lahat nagsimula. the best tlga gundam

Ano ba title nung first Gundam? matagal ko ng hinahanp yun pero d ko pa rin makita sa mga DL site…
Ayokong Gundam yung Destiny, ang alam ko nag petition yung fans na ibalik si Kira as the main Char. sa Season 2. Kaya yung Half nung S2 si Kira na yung naging main Char.

The title of the first ever gundam series is “Mobile Suit Gundam” in english and “Kidou Senshi Gundam” in japanese. It is almost impossible to find on the internet because it was licensed by U.S. I congratulate those who actually find a few episodes, let alone the full series.
For those who didn’t know, about 80-90% of the contents of the SEED series were taken from the first gundam series.

Mobile Suite Gundam 00 season 2 is now available. I’m up to episode 4 and so far its been awesome. I haven’t totally warmed up to the new Gundams yet but they’re ok. My favorite is Seravee Gundam, that face on the back is priceless.
