Valhalla, the Hall of Legends Promotional Video
Valhalla, Philippine Ragnarok Online’s newest free-to-play server, launches this Friday, November 30, 2007! The official announcement about the initial mechanics were already posted at the Ragnarok Website. The main difference between Valhalla and Valkyrie is that the PK Feature has been disabled. In the future, there will be additional rewards for the in-game ranking-based events (race track, bs ranking, etc.) However, before we go on to that, I’d like to share with you guys the promotional video we had made for Valhalla. It’s really a kick ass video so better check it out!

Date Posted: Nov. 27, 2007Prepare to enter the gates, brave warriors! On November 30, we welcome you to Valhalla, Ragnarok’s newest, FREE-TO-PLAY SERVER! The Divine Hall of Heroes indeed has many new adventures in store for you. In celebration of your arrival, there will be a 3x exp for 1 week (Nov. 28 – Dec. 5, 2007) exclusively for Valhalla.
On November 28, the Thor server will be closed following the regularly scheduled maintenance. All existing Thor characters will be migrated into the new Valhalla server that will open on November 30, 2007. All Thorian characters moved to Valhalla this way will KEEP their current levels as well as any items their character/s is/are carrying in their inventory. Please note that characters can only bring items that they are CARRYING into Valhalla. Be warned that any items stored in Kafra Storages and Merchant Carts will NOT be transferred.
As an added bonus, please also note that all accounts that have at least one (1) Level 70 Character in Thor and has logged in at least once in Thor ever since October 28, 2007 will have all their remaining game time converted into Rok Points that they can use to buy items from any server.
As part of pRO’s Free-to-Play Revolution, Valhalla’s server settings is exactly the same as that of Valkyrie except for the fact that the PK feature has now been disabled. However, please note that these are just the initial settings for Ragnarok Online’s newest free to play server. We will be adding more bonuses for MVP’s and all in-game ranking-based events in the future. This will be exclusive for Valhalla.
So mark those calendars, heroes of Midgard! On November 30, let’s all see each other on the Divine Hall of Heroes! Rok On!

I am rather dissapointed with the rather misleading promises. You told us Thorians that you were to consult us if ever something is going to be done to the server. Unknown to us while we were still hoping that the server lingered more and doing measures and events that hopefully would entice some of the older player the fate of Thor has already been decided.
You should’ve told us Thor’s fate much earlier instead of you milking us without even properly compensating what we (i know it can’t be 100% said for the community) FAIRLY and JUSTLY played for in Thor.
Thanks for FORCEFULLY SHOVING these all in our mouths.

@Mopz: I’ll just address your concern one time now. First - let me just reiterate that the RO Team did their best in fighting for Thor. There was no consultation anymore for that part because the management was already set on closing the server down. They wanted a complete player wipe, new server, no strings attached, and you just get bonus rok points if you play on Valhlla. If we really didn’t care about the community we would have just closed Thor and open up a fresh Valhalla which would have more promise in terms of revenue because of the clean slate with items. This wasn’t just the decision of one person, this was a decision that was made by the upper management of the company. Because of the efforts of the RO GMs and Community Managers, Thor’s characters, items, levels, and guilds were preserved. We didn’t tell you guys anymore because obviously the community wouldn’t want their server to be closed down abruptly and their characters and items deleted. Instead of just talking about it, we decided to go full force with convincing higher ups on an alternative solution. I hope you understand where I’m coming from with regard to this matter.

errr 1 week mod exp? bat nov 28 ang start? e d ba nov 30 pa ang open ng Vahalana? sayang naman yun 2 days…
there are still concerns about -5% pag nadeds…
pahirap palevel for mob maps, since no tele and bwings… ganito ba talaga? and also, paano na yun tele clips/rings, mawawala ba sa inventory. and aco skills na tele, mawawala na rin ba?
just imagine, walang tele tapos namob ka, deds, OMG -5% yun, tpos trans ka na level 90 pa,ang saya nun!

So simply said, Valhalla is indeed a “Valkyrie 2″ in a sense after all.
As much as i want to “thank” you guys for at “saving” Thor in some way, the decision for us to remain in Thor was because we remained legal with using the items that you removed in Valkyie.
I think it was a wrong decision in your part to comfort us with such flowery words months ago.
I thought we were already in a safe haven, but it was but a front for you to throw us into something that we tried best to run from.
From here on, Valhalla will face the same monstrosities that ravaged Valkyrie i wonder if this will be worth Thor’s demise. (Seeing that until now, Valkyrie is still BUGkyrie)

Tingin ko ay mas mabuting sa comm’l server na lang i-merge ang thor. Sobrang laking advantage agad ang makukuha nila in terms of level at gamit kumpara sa mag-i-start pa lang sa valhalla.

How about the teleport skills of the acolyte based classes? Skill reset or just retain their skills while new players don’t get the advantage of it?
Teleport clips and creamy cards? Will they be removed or retained?
Fly Wings and Butterfly Wings? Removed or retained?

Part of life is changes where sometimes it doesn’t go our way. We do what we can and at least we still have something rather than nothing. Not everything will go our way. Just pray and hope for the best of the new server and the migration.
And I do hope it doesn’t end up just like Valkyrie, “failed to connect to server” and trying to login for at least 2 hours without even seeing the character select screen.
Another problem, “Please wait” message for at least 5 minutes or more just to go from one map to another. Sometimes it just goes directly to “Disconnected from the server”
Pointing out that the problems in Valkyrie may be similar to Valhalla if the settings of both are the same, exclude the PK feature.
Question din:
Will Valhalla follow the same siege schedule as Thor or an entire different schedule?

@Mopz, try to be more understanding. I think wauks and the GM’s did their best to save our community. Level Up, whether you like it or not, runs a business. Thor server is not a charity project. They had to do something to make Thor profitable –and keeping a server with a population of 30 is definitely not good business. From my understanding, LU had 2 choices, close Thor down or make it F2P. Given the thousands of pesos we spent in Thor already, would it satisfy you to have all our hard work closed down and deleted rather than be ‘corrupted’ with bots as you say?
@Thorians, I’ve tried valkyrie and the server is far from acceptable, frankly. But if we want to survive in the new Thor, I suggest bringing kafra cards and life insurances all the time. Kafra cards to restock supplies, and life insurances as b-wings…Use the insurance and let the monsters take you back to town quick :)

I agree to desquallie about retaining our teleport skills; Thorians are anti-bot people, I believe that we can still be of help about the bot-revolution that will happen soon in valhalla. Godbless :-D

Valkryrie is so bot infested, no matter what the MP’s do nor the new anti bot you put, andun pa rin sila.
Even the massive 3k banning na ginawa sa Valkryrie ay di nakapigil sa mga bots. Napakadali lang kasi na gumawa ng new accounts.
Here comes the questions
May naisip na bang paraan ang LU para di matulad sa Valk ang Valhalla?
Ano nga pala ang eksaktong oras na magbubukas ang Vahalana sa friday?
Is there a patch na kailangang i-download since it will be a new server?
Nabanggit na madadala ang mga nasa inventory, pero di nasabi kung kasama din ang zeny? Marami ang nagbenta ng mga loots at gamit para madala iyon sa Valhalla, peo ang tanging malinaw lang na madadala ay characte, guild and items in the inventory. Walang zeny!
Ang mga memo ng mga priests, mase save ba?
Ang mga ikinasal sa Thor? Mananatili ba silang kasal?
Ang pinaghirapang e-call skill ng mga thorian guilds, mawawala ba?
Ang friends list, mabubura ba?
Rachel Sanctuary bubuksan ba? Or magpapakahirap na namang magbigay ng pera ang mga Thorians?
May mga dungeons na para mapasok ay kailangang gumawa ng quest, kailangan bang ulitin ito? Madadala ba namin yung mga dungeon pass? holy threads? lab permit? Will these items work in Valhalla without redoing the quests?
May pag-asa bang ma-implement ang flywing, bwing and teleport skill in the future? Ang mga skills at items na ito ang isa sa dahilan kaya unique ang RO. Kung tuluyan na itong mawawala, RO would just be like any other games.
And once again, what about the bots?

As much as i want to go with the flow of your “change is inevitable” comment this “saving of Thor” has been tarnished with deception and that i can’t just let slip by. (For this is the 2nd time a fandom did this to me hence the bitterness)

Just to add to my comment earlier (since i was drowsy that time due to lack of sleep), If you really cared for the Thorians how come you weren’t able to transfer all of our items to Valhalla?, even the items in the Carts you didn’t allow to be transferred. You totally cared for us that we must buy GYM PASSES to feel that “care”. You were able to do this with the server merge you did with the servers back in Chaos but to Thor you weren’t able to (and we were only one server!).
I can totally feel the TAINTED love here.

For now i can only wish that Valhalla goes forth smoothly. But with Valkyrie’s current crappy status, i think it’s safe to avoid optimism.

@Mopz, if LU did not really care for Thorians, they should have deleted the server and made a new one from it. Whether you like it or not, Level Up! is a business venture..Thor is not a charity project so when Thor’s population was batting an average of 30 a day, it was inevitable that they’d do something–and the choice was between closing Thor down permanently or making it F2P. Would it make you feel better had our hard earned efforts in Thor just disappear?
Give Valhalla a chance, your pessimism is not helping the Ragnarok community.
…Knowing the very nature of an F2P games is prevalence of botters, I think the fly wings, bwings and tele skill will only make things worse…Sanayan lang yan mga Thorians..It’s gonna be tough but I believe we can brave this struggle in our server /no1

I already my question regarding Valhalla posted it on the weekly updates..
If bwings and flywings are officially announced will be wipeout, What about the boss cards (gr card), maya purple card, creamy card, teleport skill of the acolyte class, and all of those cards compounded in equips would those cards be delete too along with those armors or just be disabled?. Hope this would be clarified with whenever you get the information regarding about it.
