A lot of Twilight fans in the Philippines got really angry when rumors about the localization of the movie into a TV series began circulating. It was eventually shot down as ABS CBN corrected one of their earlier published announcements and said that they won’t be doing a local adaptation anymore. There’s a new rumor going around now and this time people are saying that Twilight will be having an anime version which will be released in Japan soon. The rumor is fueled by Twilight Director Catherine Hardwicke’s comments in the new DVD Set. More after the jump.

Fans of Twilight will be happy to hear that the vampire series may be adapted as an anime series in Japan, according to hints dropped by the cast and crew in commentaries on the film’s March 21 DVD release.
Among its many bonus materials, the new DVD set features a commentary track by director Catherine Hardwicke and co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
During the final sequence of the film, in which Stewart’s Bella and Pattinson’s Edward Cullen discuss transforming her into a vampire so the two of them can be together forever, Pattinson notices that he looks different from previous scenes. “I look Asian in this scene,” Pattinson says. “I do, I look like an anime character.”
Hardwicke responds, “Hey, I think there’s going to be an anime version of this in Japan. So you will be an anime character.”
The trio goes on to discuss how cold the location was and how Stewart inadvertently smashed Pattinson’s toes over the course of the night, so no information is yet available on whether Bella drives a pneumatic red motorcycle or whether the Cullens transform into a giant robot and fight off alien monsters from outer space.
Twilight is based on the first of Stephenie Meyer’s books.

The same rumor about an anime Harry Potter circulated a few years back. As it turned out it was a Harry Potter-like anime, where teens learn magic at a wizard academy. That turned out to be Maburaho, which, isn’t really that good and not in my taste. I wouldn’t put any weight in this news unless it has been confirmed. It just might be that an anime studio in Japan is making a Vampire themed anime. Demonic anti-heroes are a big thing in Japan.

Maburaho is a good anime and as far as i know it was not the one that was rumored to be the harry potter like anime..

Hell to the motherfucking yes! I love Twilight and I love anime and if the director is saying it may be true I’d say its pretty legit. I really hope they do that’ll just give me more of a reason to go to Japan.
