You guys all remember Soundwave right? Yeah, he’s the guy who spews out mini-deceptions. He used to be a radio if I remember correctly. Well, according to the pictures of the latest toys that are inspired by Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, Soundwave is now a… sword. He can actually be another plane like what they did to Megatron since it looks like his “transformed” version has wings and can fly. Anyway, here’s the picture.

I’d also like to share with you guys all the components of Devastator as well as his combined form. I already posted his concept art a while back and now here are actual pictures of the toys. Check ‘em out after the jump.

    Meet the Constructicons.

And they all volt in to form…

Based on the trailer, it looks like Devastator might be 3-4x bigger than Optimus Prime. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen will have more action and probably a darker story since the first one was a bit too light. By the way, if you haven’t watched the teaser yet, click to watch the Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen trailer.

Actually, soundwave’s Alt Mode is a cybertronian jet or satellite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soundwave_(Transformers)#2007_Transformers_film) Also, here’s another pic: http://www.action-figure.com/images/08/11/tf2009/swave1.jpg

yan dapat yung pose ni devastator..

devastator looks surprisingly like a gorilla…

soundwave used to be a cassette tape recorder, and launched cassette tapes that turned into human sized robots, love laser beak. makes sense he’s some sort of satellite, probably the spy kind. i hope they bring back his warbly voice from the cartoons.

Let me clarify: Soundware is a triple changer ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_changer#Transformers:_Revenge_of_the_Fallen ) ~ He has 2 alt modes. He can be a Robot, a Cassette Tape Recorder or a Cybertronian Jet ^^

Not sold on Soundwave, but if they are going to at least make him sound like his G1 incarnation I can be persuaded. It’s funny, I like the way Devestator looks as a toy more than the concept pic I saw of him on SH!… Hard to believe that huge bit that Prime was leaping at in the trailer is just PART of the final form of Devestator…

Will you show the robot mode of each constructicons

    • primus on March 20, 2009

AFAIK Soundwave here should be a hi-tech spy satellite. The toy doesn’t do justice. :(

This version of Devastator only has 6 Constructicons unlike 7 in the original. The “other” constructicon Bonecrusher was pawned by Prime in the first movie.

According to rumors Frank Welker (voice of the 80s cartoon Soundwave an Megatron) is in the movie and voices Soundwave.

Oh. Now I know why there were only 6 constructicon in the movie. Hehehe
