Street Fighter Legend - Daigo
There have been a lot of Street Fighter Tournaments done across the globe. I’m not so sure about here in the Philippines since we don’t have the critical mass for CAPCOM to hold tournaments locally. In the US though, SF3 had a good following and one player became legendary with one of his fights. His name is Daigo, and his favorite character is Ken. Down to around 5% of his remaining HP, his opponent launches Chun-Li’s super attack. Guess what? Daigo parries the entire super combo and then takes out Chun-Li after for a resounding championship win! Watch the clip after the jump!
Oh diba? Astig.
Sorry about posting so many things about Fighting Games lately. I’m really a fan of the Street Fighter franchise and I just can’t help myself from talking about them. I can’t wait for Street Fighter 4!

Because of that video, that is the reason why the game developers took out the Parrying system from Street Fighter IV.

Yeah it’s like NBA playoffs where one team is 0-2 but win the next four to win the championship. But can’t believe someone would go that far in SF3.

@Wauks
Please give your opinion regarding what I have posted in your topic (LU-Gravity Meeting Minutes). Seems you have no time at all to check it out well I still look forward in your opinion. Thank You.
And just a minor suggestion
Can you suggest the RO IT team to stop the emergency maintenance to be held on monday (January 14,2008 @2pm) and just add it up during the maintenance day (January 16,2008 @7.30am) instead since it wouldn’t make sense anyway it would just be a good oppurtunity for those who use duplicate system to do it that time period. Thank You.

i found this earlier when i was surfing around using stumbleupon and yes i have bookmarked that video. astig sya nung una kong makita i just had to replay it again and again. kawawa ung ken most of the fight pero pag dating sa crunch time incredible ung timing ng parry nya, and super move pa ung pinarry nya ha! tpos diretso counterattack hanggang sya naman magsuper move. hanep!

@wauks
eto ung complete match from round 1 to 3 with minimal comments and viewed from one of the projectors in front of fans as well.
Justin (chun-li) vs Daigo (ken)
http://video.stumbleupon.com/#p=ext63p04vs
ken parries the whole super move of chun-li EXCEPT THE LAST ONE. chun-li’s super move consists of two sets of ‘lightning kick,’ all of which daigo parries, and a close roundhouse kick at the end meant to launch the enemy into the air, which daigo blocks with an air block. daigo then counters with an air roundhouse and continues with a ground forward kick and a dragon punch that he immediately cancels with his own super… TO THE SHOCK AND AMAZEMENT OF EVERYONE!! (buti na lang may natirang katuting na life si daigo kundi maski na block nya ung roundhouse sa ere deds sya)
someone in both videos is heard shouting “way to go justin!” nung wala na halos life si daigo tapos nagsuper pa si justin. sana pnakita ung muka kung cnu un para malaman natin reaction nya haha. aside from the fact that daigo managed to salvage the match, what amazes me is the AMOUNT OF LIFE OF CHUN-LI. andami pa nun tapos sa isang iglap deds wahahaha!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy beyond words to describe how it felt the 1st time I saw that vid.
I was deeply dumbfounded and noticed that my mouth still open 2mins after the vids finished. Tried so hard to ascertain the visual veracity of what I just saw. My mind was like screamin` “Im just a freagin pentium 233mhz, tryin to usurp and process a 100 terrabyte of information”

January 14th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Napakahusay na Parrying swerte may natira pang buhay si ken hehe pero panget din kasi yung diskarte nung chunli malayo sya nung nag super move sya dapat nilapitan nya muna at binawasan nya pa ng onti bago sya nag super kasi mataas masyado yung after delay pag nag super move sya at mataas pa naman buhay nya kumpara kay ken
January 14th, 2008 at 12:01 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
i played with him on 3s. magaling talaga yan hindi sa parry kundi sa diskarte. very fast reflexes once connected by one crouching low it will surely follow by a second crouning low then super arts. kita nyo yun galaw pagtapos pumarry sa crounching forward shoryuken thats for anti houyoukusen justin is linkin it with crounching forward.

classic… every 3s players once dreamed to have a piece of diago.. alam ko somehow pinoy fighters ay kayang sabayan ang mga japs sa 3s, at naniniwala ako we are better than american players.

I can’t wait until mag-rematch si Justin Wong at Daigo over SFIV. Justin’s already gotten to play the console version of SFIV at a recent Capcom event where he went 50-0 against all challengers with Sakura.
