Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii, or Xbox 360?

Other than playing online games, I’m also an avid fan of console gaming. I used to spend countless hours on my PS2 playing the latest Final Fantasy installment or kicking some ass in WWE Smackdown or Soul Caliber. Unfortunately, due to work here at Level-up (LOL), I barely have any time to spend with my PS2. Eventually I ended up selling my PS2 to an officemate. I think I only got to play for like 2 hours a week on my PS2 so it was really a good decision at that time to sell it. However, this Christmas I’m seriously considering buying another console. The question now is should I get a PS3, Wii, or an XBOX?

Just like what some of the readers said in my article about mobile games, the important thing is content. I will seriously go for the console which can give the better games. That’s the main reason why I was an avid fan of the PS2 before because they had exclusive rights to some of the titles that I really got in to. Trailer of some upcoming games after the jump.

Depsite the price difference, I’m currently inclined to go for the PS3 over the Wii and the XBOX. I’ve played most, if not all, of the Final Fantasy series and while I was a bit disappointed with the last 2, I’m really looking forward to trying out Final Fantasy 13. Here are some of the trailers that I was able to find on Youtube. The first one was shown in E3 and it’s CG. The second one shows more game features and shots.

Did I mentioned that the soundtrack really rocks? heh

Unless the XBOX or Wii manages to get FF13 on them, I’m probably shooting for having a PS3 by the end of the year.

Its up to u wauks dont get the 360 ryt now bcoz its still infested with the 3 red rings of death (System malfunction) ur best buy right now is between the wii or PS3 if you can afford both its better but it still depends on the games u wanna play i personally own both so i could play Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (one of the best games ryt now)GTA 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 next year (on the ps3) it would be better if u could get both because u can enjoy Unique gaming on the wii with its controls and playing hardcore on ur PS3 the problem ryt now is the shortage of ps3 games ryt now the wii can keep u company until u can w8 for final fantsay XIII coz i think it may come out in about 4th quarter 2008..   7. I suggest Wii… I’m more of a Zelda Fan than FF.. Hehe.. Unfortunately, Legend of Zelda has lesser titles than FF, so the title itself makes the game limited.. Also, Wii controller can be used in the PC.. I’ve seen people in Youtube using a Wii controller playing Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on a Nintendo 64 Emulator..

  9. id check out witch has the more games that you are able to play. a good console has to have a lot of games and that is what makes a console successfull the games…


  10. FFXIII is divided in different types of games/worlds; yet all are FF13: FFXIII,FFXIII versus,FFXIII agito and FFXIII hephaestus.

  12. Sir Wauks, for me i’d prefer Wii for this year… considering lot’s of new games coming out… “Mario Galaxy”, “resident evil:umbrella chronicles”, “Hajime no ippo: Revolution”, “Metroid 3″ and especially… my personal fave “Super Smash Bro. Brawl”!!!

    I’ll consider PS3 once when they release Kingdom Hearts 3 on the system.

    PS3, well, unless magbaba ang presyo ng Blu-ray discs and marami na ang titles, I’ll buy one, too.


  14. the Agito game is fgor cellphones. While the FFXIII along with FFXIII versus will be for the PS3. The 3 games are part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis (which means “the new tale of the crystal”) Final Fantasy XIII compilation which was revealed during the E3 conference. I haven’t seen or heard about Hephaestus game so I can’t confirm it yet. Think of it as the SE games for FFVII which are spawning several titles since it’s their 10th anniv (the game).   22. id say skip final fantasy games because the creator already left square enix. the final fantasy series has been going downhill after that. besides, the ps3 has gotten poor game support after the difficulty of making a blue ray game.

    i suggest getting a wii for maximum fun and maximum party play. hey, it doesnt hurt to have a wii now coz it just costs half of a ps3

    360 - madami nga may 3rl, but the vast majority dont have a problem. Gears of War, NBA 2k8, Mass Effect, Bioshock… the nextgen game list goes on and on..

    Wii - Fun controller, More casual games, Zelda, Metroid Prime,

  32. I don’t recommend the 360, sabi ng Microsoft lahat raw ng nilabas nila na 360 may depekto, tapos according dun sa ibang blog mga 33% failure rate ng 360 (1 out of 3 sira agad). Flawed design apparently. Personally mas gugustuhin ko Wii ^_^ weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
