SMART Communications Leads at the Philippines Ad Congress 2007

SMART Communications, the leading information technology company in the Philippines, really did a very good job in “branding” the 20th Philippines Ad Congress which was held at the Freeport at Subic. On our way to the venue, there wasn’t a single post, sari-sari store, building, or billboard that didn’t have a SMART: Power to Lead tarpaulin. I’m not kidding - they went as far as putting up tarpaulins on the houses of the people by the main road. It was like a presidential campaign trail.

Anyway, more on the topic after the jump.

There were even blown-up balloons of the SMART Logo in big farm areas! It was really an insane drive going up to the Ad Congress. SMART was also very prominent in the actual venue. They had a very big activation booth. Their models all looked like they were from some other country. Remember the picture I uploaded in my previous post?

Anyway, Level-up! International Chief Operating Office, Ben Colayco, will be giving a presentation this afternoon on in-game advertising. I’ve already seen the presentation and it really kicks ass (flash based with embedded videos and sounds). If any of you are here at the Ad Congress, please do drop by the Convention Hall sometime around 4:00PM so you can watch the presentation.

Good job to SMART for their branding efforts at the Philippines Ad Congress. I’m pretty sure that all the delegates feel the same way that I do - that SMART really does have the power to lead.

    nice upgrade wauks ha? nice na upgrade nyo yung hardware para maayos ang log in ng valkyrie.. yan tuloy di halos makapasok. sa 1hour game time almost 30mins all in all para makapasok


  3. OT….you should extend the 2x exp one week after all the bugs have been corrected. it is disgusting to go to any warp portal or to teleport using the kafra because it will take you along time to log in the game again. your equipment upgrade seems to be lousy and poorly made.

  8. Some if not most of the models hired by national companies at the AD-Con are local Subic residents, either Amerasians (former U.S. Naval Base) or daughters of foreigners now living here. Most of our national advertisers sought our help in acquiring their services. Really got a lot of em here.


  9. Sorry Sir Wauks, dami off topic. Di kami makarelate eh. Buti you enjoyed it. Hehe. Anyway, I was just wondering if you could consider selling Comodo Skill Quest items at the Valkyrie Hypermart? (I haven’t played other servers in a while so I don’t know which NPC items are exclusive non-Valk, e.g. Pearl?). I was thinking yung mga required items lang na tinanggal sa NPC na meron sa commercial servers, pero ok lang din kahit pure monster drop ilagay nyo na rin sa Hypermart. For a price range of 5-10 or maybe 15 rok points, it won’t cause a disruption of in-game economy.

    Example trunk for 10 rok. Ang bibili lang nun, either Archer for arrow crafting or Merch for change cart. At hindi sila bibili nun ng lahat pure rok points. Syempre bibili lang sila kung ilan na lang kulang nila. They could always hunt for it if they want to. It’s not like tinanggal na sa drop list. Levelup cannot be accused na naman na kesyo pinagkakaperahan etc. Isa pa, ika nga it’s a business. And we all enjoy it. If naman, bibili ng trunks to make a sakkat, kahit na originally intended for Platinum Skills lang to, it would be unwise syempre.
    120×10=1200 rok points.

    120×5=600 rok points.
    Mas mahal pa sa Munak/Bongun Hat[1] at wala pang slot yan. So “Hypermart-bought” sakkats would be too expensive to sell for zeny. Lugi e, so for keeps lang talaga. So yung bibili lang sa hypermart, yung kulang na lang ng a few trunks, or yung die hard fan ng sakkat. ^_^

    Also, wala namang unfair advantage coz it would be available to all. Consider Valkyrie na SOME have ALL Platinum Skills. Then, consider it where EVERYBODY has ALL Platinum Skills. No big in-game change. In fact, gaming experience lang ng individual ang affected. Besides, I don’t think lahat ng tao icocomplete yung Quests. Some skills are not that useful, some don’t fit some people’s playing styles…

    Sana naintindihan mo Kuya Wauks kahit di ako marunong magpresent ng arguments. Masa lang ako e. ^_^ And please consider it? Thanks.

  10. Kasi naman yung merch na wala na nga battle skills, either kakailanganin pa ng limpak limpak na zeny or magpapahigh level muna sa sarili or ibang char bago makakuha ng pearl. And look at the required job level of Crazy Uproar: 15! From firsthand experience, Job 41 nako at naka ilang sandals[1] at hood[1] nako wala pa rin yang pearl na yan. You COULD say I’m suggesting for my own benifits but then again, hindi lang naman sakin ibebenta yan ng Levelup eh. And let me say it again, kung ayaw mo bumili, hunt for it. Good luck. Mag job 50 ka na sa kahahanap. heheheh

  13. uu nga po sir wauks…panu nmn yung ibang players na nag rerent lng na PC para makalaro..mauubos na yung oras eh d pa in sa game…d nmn lahat can afford mag ka PC nu…paaus nmn po..ang ganda nga walang bot..walang cra ang party at chat…d ka nmn makapasok…swertihan lng…/sob

  15. wala naman pag babago nakapag ban nga ng marami ganun pa rin naman. may mga bot pa rin. kahit sa TI meron bot dun na monk/FS, sa taas ng lighthalzen a thief w/ FS(aco) bot din. di naman mga nababan kc nga ndi na sila na ddc. kala ko ba may third party program na makaka anti sa BOT.? parang wala lang ah..


  16. Another point I have is, kung papahirapan ang players, mas lalong magreresort sila sa pagpapadali ng game nila (read: botting). So, instead of manual hunting, kung weak-willed, magbobot na sigurado.
