RIP: Bernie Mac (1957-2008)

Actor and comedian Bernie Mac died Saturday at age 50. He passed away yesterday morning due to severe complications from pneumonia in a hospital in Chicago. I remember Bernie Mac from several of my favorite films, including Charlie’s Angel, Transformers, and Ocean’s Eleven. This serves as a grim reminder that illness does not favor anyone. Condolences to the friends and family of Bernie Mac. He lived a life making millions of people around the world smile through his work.

“I came from a place where there wasn’t a lot of joy,” Mac told the AP in 2001. “I decided to try to make other people laugh when there wasn’t a lot of things to laugh about.”

A life well lived. We will miss you!
