I’ll be going to Boracay tomorrow so I don’t know if I can post entrees this weekend. So I’ll leave one post that will definitely ignite buzz that will rival the World Cyber Games. For those who have been reading this blog regularly, you guys might have noticed that I keep refering to one project that I’ve been working hard on for the past few months. I left some teasers in my previous posts and I’m pretty sure some of you already know what I’m talking about. Back in 2004, pRO had the biggest online gaming tournament called the Ragnarok World Championships. Every year after that, players kept on asking when the next RWC will be. It’s always a thrill to represent your country and face the best the world has to offer! Sadly, no news of RWC… until now. Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to announce that this year, Ragnarok Online will be having the biggest online tournament in the country! Fellow RO players, I’m very happy to announce that this year we will again see the Philippine flag wave proudly over Korea! OMFGBBQWTF! Yes, I’m talking about RAGNAROK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007.

We’re still finalizing the mechanics and we’ve yet to recieve the combat matrix and tournament tree from Gravity. According to Albert, my counterpart in Korea, there will be more or less 12 countries participating this year. Each country will send their champion team to Korea to compete for the title of RWC 2007 champion! That means Level-up will be sending a team to South Korea… ampf! Saan ka pa? Hindi kaya ibigay ng PRIVATE SERVER yan (Hehe). We will probably be using RPC to determine the representatives. More details on the mechanics and the schedule as I get them. By the way, here’s the first draft of the RPC 2007 logo:

I just got the initial mechanics for the Ragnarok World Championships. I’ll give you guys an update sometime this week. I’ll give you a teaser though – it’s not 9 vs 9. It’s just 7 vs 7 and only transcendants are in the line-up.
Take note that those mechanics are for RWC, and we will have a different batch of rules for RPC 2007 for Level-up LIVE sometime late this year.

I’ve just read the pRO announcement regarding RPC 2007. I’m a bit confused on this:
“Take note that the RWC is just a bonus, the main event is still the RPC 2007 which culminates at Level-up LIVE sometime October. They are separate events but we will be using the RPC Agit Lord mechanics to come up with a pool of teams that will face each other in an 8-Team Elimination Tournament. 5 of the 8 teams will come from the Agit Lords. The 6th slot is reserved for the Sakray Server Champion and the 7th slot will be awarded to a battle between the RPC 2006 and 2007 champions. The mechanics for the 8th slot will be announced later this month.” – from http://www.ragnarok.ph/news_detail.php?id=465
It says that the 7th slot will be awarded to sa battle between the RPC 2006 (Odin’s AnL) and 2007 (?) champions.
