Ragnarok Valkyrie Server FAQ II

As promised, this is the second Ragnarok Valkyrie FAQ. I’ve compiled the most popular questions asked in the comments section as well as the hot topics at the Ragnaboards. I’ll be doing this one more time so if you have a question and it’s not yet answered, feel free to post a comment. I’ll compile the questions again and maybe post Ragnarok Valkyrie FAQ III on Wednesday during maintenance. Among the questions that I’ll answer today include the Bot Issue and the Installer. The answers are actually pretty simple and direct-to-the-point.

How do I get the installer for Valkyrie?
If you already have Ragnarok installed on your PC, all you have to do is download a 5MB file which we will be uploading and posting on the forums and website soon. If you don’t have an installer, you can try asking for a copy from your favorite internet cafe or you can download it online through mirror sites that we will be putting up in time for Valkyrie’s launch. If you can’t find an installer and you really want one, you can also drop by the Level-up! office and buy one for 50 bucks.

What can I buy with Zenny if a lot of stuff will be sold in the HyperMart?
Like what I said in my previous FAQ, not all rares will be sold through the HyperMart. We will only be selling the bare basics and essentials. Zenny will also play a crucial role in your adventures in Midgard because the zenny refine fee for upgrading will be increased in Valkyrie. It’s not as cheap as the regular servers wherein you don’t even feel the fee anymore. There will also be new NPC-based quests and events which will require zenny.

Is the Valkyrie Server Bot-Free?
Seriously, we can’t even get Gravity to make Thor bot free. Unless Gravity fixes the problem in Thor, we will be relying on you - the players to police your own ranks. Since a lot of maps are PK-enabled, you can really do a number on the bots by killing them again, again, and again. If Gravity and Game Guard finally come through and give us secruity measures that will block bots, Thor will be the first server to get it applied. Valkyire will follow.

What is the Armory of the Gods?
It’s the name we gave the item mall for Ragnarok Valkyrie. In Valkyrie, you will be able to buy basic cards, slotted equipment, potions, buff scrolls, bullets, arrows, Emperiums, metals, and the premium gear which we sold through the Ragnarok HyperMart. Prices vary but the average card price is somewhere around 50-100 PHP. Of course there are some cards which are priced at a premium. Take note that these purchases are PERMANENT. They are not EXPIRY. When you buy it, it is yours FOREVER.

  1. Hindi pala sa walang pera ang server na to. Dapat may pera ka din. Bakit ka maglalaro dito kung ung pangbili mo ng items eh ibili mo na lang ng load.


  2. uhm…will teleport be enabled? I mean even in PK-enabled maps bots can simply use the auto-tele function whenever they see a player on screen? Maybe you should disable the creamy card. To lessen the possibility of abusing it. If that’s the case only those jobs who has teleportation skill will benifit from this.

    RAN is a free to play but you need to buy rosaries to get 2x exp. The same as to the other free MMORPG in the country. If you don’t want to buy then don’t. They don’t oblige you. Those things are wants rather than needs.


  4. 2 Questions: 1, what is the effect of Creamy Card (assuming you remove the Teleport skill completely)? 2, is there a specific list of items sold in the Armory of the Gods that you can release?

    baka 3 days pa lang infested na ang server na yan ng mga bots.

    sigurado na ang party bots may aco na healer plus thief o kaya archer.


  6. Question: Will non-slotted armors and weapons still be available on NPC shops like on the commercial servers?


  7. stop whining about the bots.. its not LU’s doing why its not bot-free, its gravity’s concern you know! they’re the one’s whose responsible for a bot free server.. the question is.. will they do something about it.. some private servers has security systems preventing bots and this is widely known through privater server players, how come gravity hasn’t grabbed this yet.. *sigh

    its not LU’s doing pero sila nag nag mamanage ang nag handle ng game.

    i think its still there part to do something about the new server or magiging gundam server na naman yan.

  12. @Bot-related Issues: Let me correct the misconception that we are just allowing bots. We will have measures in place but it won’t be permanent because stuff like that should come from Gravity. I’m just managing everyone’s expectations. If we had the technology to make Thor bot free, we should have made it so a long time ago. It’s a dependency on Gravity that we’re still waiting for to this very day. If it gets implemented, we will apply it first to Thor and then apply it afterwards to Valkyrie. I’m seriously looking into the possibility of hiring someone outside of LU and Gravity to do the bot fix though. If LU Management approves and I can find a person who can actually do it, then we might see it happen.


  13. @”bot-free server”: this does not exist, not in the sense you’re asking LU. And it’s not like Gravity can magically do something. Any protection mechanism can be emulated and circumvented, given some time. What LU *can* do is put competent GMs online 24hs accepting player input about bots and investigating. Short term money making should not blinds long term health of the server though.

  16. Wauks, is it possible not to allow multiple accounts to be Online using same IP adress? If possible na 1 account per IP siguro possible na maminimize ung Bots. pro possible din bang maraming IP ang isang PC.


  17. wakoko has a great idea. I’ll check with Gravity if it’s feasible. The only problem I foresee with this is that normal players will also have to type in that code. That might also disrupt vending since you’ll need to leave it overnight?


  18. Bots send much packets.. Try to make a program that checks the number of packets a client sends. If it’s above average, kick it out of the server..

  23. dude suggestion monitor kyo sa openkore.com s knila galing ang mga bot merong pinoy dun developer naalala ko nung nagkaroon ng pagbabago s pRO at nagkaroon ng problema ang lahat ng openkore bot s pRO naghanap sila ng pinoy na developer para umayos ng program, bale wala nga pala ung tele s bot meron silang auto disconnect or auto respawn pag may player s screen at pag may gm na malapit s map khit nk hide kaya wa epek khit magpatrol auto disconnect agad bot pag may player o gm na lumapit

Hello wauks, just in case the anti-bot patch you’re planning to make available is related to the recent mRO login pin codes (similar to the kafra pin codes but this time entered during the login sequence), here’s a heads up: it’s already cracked. This might be another case of that padded packet fiasco where Thor implemented an already compromised security system.

    About Waukeen’s questions:

    1. Yes normal players will have to type in that code. Say you’re in the middle of a heated battle for an MVP… eh di pinapatay nyo si Orc Hero sabay pinapatay niyo yung kompetisyon nyo, biglang WHAM! “Enter the combination of numbers and letters on your screen within a minute or be jailed”. Eh di siyempre type ka naman, pagkatapos mo i-type patay ka na pala kinuyog ka na ni Orc Hero at nang kabilang party XD As Borat would say, “VERY NICE!!!”

    2. AFK Vending would be impossible. You will actually have to sit in front of your computer while you vend to avoid being jailed. No more lunch breaks while vending. As Carlito would say, “That’s NOT COOL”.


  30. suggestions rin, 1. about the RoK pts system, pde kya na ung top up value mo is equal dun sa RoK points mo, (e.g.) my 50php = 1000Rok pts make it 50php = 50 RoK pts na lang, tapos ung price sa item mall like FMB which is 1000RoK pts will be 50 RoK pts, mahina kc ako sa math, =P
    2. ok lang na tanggalin ung tele and bwing as long as ung mga mobs e hindi aggressive except ofcorz sa mga MVP mobs hirap kc tlga pag nadumog ka ng mobs tapos walang tele tapos 5% pa ang penalty sa exp pag na dedz ka OUCH!. 3. i’ve also heard na ung elus and ori will not drop sa mga mobs instead u’ll gonna buy sa item mall, sana taasan ng konti ung success rate ng forging para d gano masakit sa bulsa pag na basag ung gamit, or wag na ma wawala ung gamit pag failed ung upgrade, downgrade na lang to +0. ok din kung me mabibili na +7 kagad, of corz with a higher price than the +0 counterpart. juzt my two cents, no flaming please, PEACE


  31. Exception na lang sa mga towns yung anti-bot flash thing para hindi maban mga AFK vendors. Kaso lang, hindi rin maban mga bot vendors. Hhmmm…


  32. Kuya Wauks paki-check yung post ko sa taas; Kung talagang tatanggalin ninyo yung Teleport skill sa Valkyrie, ano naman ang ipapalit ninyong card effect ng Creamy Card? Pati pwede ba kayo maglabas ng listahan ng mga items na makukuha via Armory of the Gods?

    have another set of midgard police for this server, kung d kaya ng gms na gawin ang trabaho nila ng maayos damihan nalang para salit salitan ng trabaho ang nanghuhuli ng bots. i would wish na isa ka sa mamamahala dun pero like you said ro 2 na ang concentrate mo

  41. Kasi pag shared yung connection sa cafe IISA lang ang IP nila. Pag na-ban yun, WALA NANG MAKAKAPAGLARO NG RO SA CAFE NA YUN. And the last thing LU would want is to alienate its most valued customers: the cafe owners. In the end, di bale nang may bot, the worst thing that could happen naman is a few smart-aleck players leaving and ranting on messageboards, but the income steadily rolls on in the form of multiple botted accounts. I knw Waukeen will publicly disagree with this but deep down inside I’m sure he knows this is true.

Sir wauks can you include in the Valkyrie Faq III the list of items and equips which monsters regularly drop on normal servers but won’t be dropped in the Valkyrie server and will be sold in the item mall instead.. plss…. so that we won’t waste our time hunting for those items not knowing that monster won’t drop them..

    I think it would be much more better if Gravity would bring back the safety limit but prevent ALL upgrade stones from dropping (purchase it from cash seller instead using rok pts). You will most likely have to adjust prices for items and stones accordingly…at least gaganahan naman kaming mga players na gumastos for upgrades and kikita ang LUG at the same time.

  69. You don’t have to worry about other bots.
    Because of Valkyrie’s Item Mall, Armory of Gods or Mall System, players actually buy nice equips and cards. Allowing them to go to PK maps and pawn bots. Yeah, for them its fun, its like what i do. Only thing is some maps can’t serve to be a PK map cause its where newbi’s level.

    Suggestion lng, try transfering other monsters to maps where bots would pass and where PK players stay. ung papuntang Glast Heim, Wild Rose ang habol nila dun, take it off, transfer sa ibang maps lng. Just a suggestion.xD


  70. nag donwload po ako ng full client sa uTorrent, pero after mag download eh wala naman ako makita sa folder na .EXE file or yung pang download ng RO Valkyrie, ang meron lang po dun eh yung Patch Client agad…yun na po ba yun? yung Valkyrie icon (Ragnarok MFC, file version 1.0.0.1, 148KB)

    feeling ko kasi pag nag close ako ng PC eh mag start ulit sa pag download from zero yung patch client…

    meron mga Valexe, ThorExe, sakexe,etc Pero hindi sila gumagana…error button lumalabas…
