Ragnarok Valkyrie PK-Enabled Map List

Philippine Ragnarok Online, the most successful MMORPG in the country, will be launching the Valkyrie server on October 10, 2007. Valkyrie will be free-to-play and it will have several PK-enabled maps to spice things up when players start to hunt boss monsters. Imagine going after Orc Lord and then you find yourself flat on your back before you even get to him because an Assassin Cross caught you with a Soul Destroyer from behind. This is definitely something that a lot of old and new players can look forward to. It’s a totally brand new Ragnarok experience that will keep players at the edge of the seats!

Not all maps are PK-enabled. Gravity and our GPS Team have selected several maps to be PK. Most of them are the MVP maps and hot level areas for botters. While we can’t stop the bots yet, at least we can just turn on PK on those maps so players can just keep on killing the bots. Take note that there’s a -5% EXP Penalty each time you die in a PK Map. Check out the list of PK Maps and some basic changes for the server settings after the jump!

- Characters lose 5% experience when dying to monsters or players in PK Maps
- 5 Character Slots Available

Skill Changes
- Teleport Skill is removed completely.
- Acolytes will no longer have the option to get this skill. It will not appear in their list.
- Acolyte Skill Tree is changed - Pneuma leads directly to Warp Portal
- Same changes applies to Super Novice
- Flywing and Butterfly Wing are removed from NPC Vendors

Take note that some of these settings may still change when we launch the server. Until this is written on the official Valkyrie website, these are still tentative. I’m just giving everyone a heads-up so you can already plan ahead if you’re interested in starting a character in Valkyrie.

  4. LOL astigin yung skill tree ha, Pneuma -> Warp Portal. So ano mangyayari, imbes na Ruwach -> Teleport -> Warp Portal -> Pneuma magiging Pneuma -> Warp Portal -> Ruwach? (joke, alam ko po typo lang yan ;) ).

  8. what if taasan na lang usage sp ng teleport para sa mga acolyte type? tapos may sp consumption pa din ng pag gamit ng B.wing at f.wing. nandun pa din ang option na maka tele pero minimal na lang kasi nga it will cost them a lot. sa PK kaya ganun na lang ang PK tele kasi wala naman bawas sa SP kahit mag tele sila. kung 100% sp consumption ang mangyayari kailangan nya pa mag sp pots or mag regen para sa next tele nya. pano naman kung ma mob ng monster at wala na pots the only way para hindi ma deads ay mag tele or mag bwing. ibig sabihin pinaghirapan mo ng ilang minuto palvl tapos bigla ka lang ma mob ng monster sayang na ulit yung exp.

  11. @ LUG dapat nabibili nlng ung flywing or b.wing para maganda. kunwari ung Fly Wing 1 peso each, then ung b.wing 2 peso each. ano? good idea ba? hehehehhe….

  15. Better be sure about the teleport skill blocking. That’s stupid IMO. Why do that? Pano yung hindi bots? Di ata eto inisip ng mabuti e.

  18. The account settings sound like the ones for mRO, I think. Well, as compensation for the loss of Bwing and Fwing, maybe we can see Amedals and speed pots sold for reasonable prices instead? At least with the faster walking speed it won’t be a waste of time traveling around the maps.

    I really don’t see the logic behind the removal of the teleport skill.
    If your aim is to eliminate bots, pano na yung hindi bots?

    Level down over and over again. Another thing is how can you escape from would be PKers? You have no choice but to go at it with your assailant. -5% agad yan.

    Sobrang unfair consequence siya para lang maiwasan ang bots. Better re-evaluate this wauks.


  24. OK lang no tele skill. problema lang is sana wag lahat nang area eh pk enabled. eh pano kung nag papa lvl ako ayaws ko makipag pk. di ako makatakas. sana piliin mabuti kung alin ang pk enabled sa hindi.

    walang punishment ang nag PK sa RO kaya pwede mag griefing ang mga high lvl against sa lowbies nang walang proproblemahin.

    Dun ka na sa previous servers kung gusto mong may Teleportation skill.
    Depende naman kasi sau kung ano nang trip mo eh..
    Yun kasi ung pinakamainam na gawin para maiwasan ung mga bot..
    Xempe may mga madadamay pero buong server naman ung makikinabang..
    Nde ntin kasi maasure ang existence ng bot kaya heto ung mga precautions nila..

    Basta heto lang..kung ayaw mo sa patakaran nila..umalis ka..

    may naghunt sa kanya level 99 - malamang di maiiwasan ng level 70 yan. so -5% agad instant. either maghanap ng new map ung level 70 at iwasan ung level 99. kaso sa iba map meron din killer. paano na? maubos na exp nung kawawang level 70.

    Why are you fools trying to turn this server into another MASSIVE FAIL like Thor? If you want to take five years to get to 99 just stay in Thor, along with your double-digit population. Don’t you realize that the success of this server depends on SALES? More accounts played = more items bought in hypermart = more cash for LU! But “no teleport” could ruin the potential success of it all! I’m sure Waukeen is very much aware of this. They can’t host servers for free. Magsasayang lang sila ng kuryente just like what they’re doing right now in hosting Thor for a handful of people.

    Kung walang bot then so be it, I’m all game for that. But I hope people also realize that no teleport does not mean no bots. Gusto ko sana ito subukan kasi it means I don’t have to waste time hunting for items I need when I could just buy them. But with no teleport skill and -5% exp per death, let’s see kung nakangiti pa rin kayo pag Level 98 na kayo at napagtripan kayo, either by a mob of monsters or by a mob of players tripping on you.

  43. THe worse thing that could happen here is a lot of billionaires created because of botted loot.

    …BUT! Most of the zeny will be useless kasi everything valuable that was previously botted is bought in Hypermart, no rares will be dropped. So pang-pots lang talaga ang zeny doon. I mean, why would I sell my Thara Frog Card that I bought for say 50php for zeny when I can’t use that zeny to buy other items that I need (except for pots) in turn?


  44. No teleport skill means people have to rely on each other to prevent death, and heavy reliance on support characters (I believe this is already seen in other MMOs like RAN, RF and FlyFF). It also encourages exploration and potion spamming since even Heal isn’t enough [the only class that's likely to survive without potions would be Soul Linker]. Cards and slotted items being available on Armory of the Gods means that zeny is only worthwhile for quests and potions. The lack of boss cards means that boss hunts would be primarily for the equipment they drop (especially when Beins arrives and their item drop rates go up to 70% or more instead of the existing 40% or less) as well as the challenge of MVPing. And PK mode in boss maps means no more boss soloing. I like this server already :D

  48. Guys, tandaan nyo FREE yung server. Para sa mga ayaw magbayad tong server na to. Kung magrereklamo lang talaga kayo, magbayad kayo at sa normal servers kayo pumunta.

    Dapat talaga malaki yung difference para hindi maglipatan lahat ng players sa free server. Sa ibang international f2p servers ganyan din yung mga stats, tapos 0.5 exp lang. Isipin niyo na swerte pa tayo.

  52. Elow, RO Players! To the skeptics, stay tuned lang! ^_^ Remember, the entirety of Project Valkyrie has yet to be revealed. As October 10 gets closer, Valkyrie will start to get clearer and clearer. You’ll hopefully see that all the settings will work together to give you a really kick-ass server ^_^ But of course, the other servers will always still be available so there’s no need to fret.   53. with that kind of settings (no tele tpos -5% pag kill tpos 1.5x lng exp??) i’d rather stay in Tyr. So far ang POV ko parang practice server lng yan. Pero sbi nga ni dedlock primary settings pa lng yan. d pa yan ung final. sana lng nga pagdating ng final e mas logical ang settings.

  61. well i guess this is the server for the less fortunate. finaly i can experience PRO. Tired of the private servers with over power characters (lvl 255). this is nice. no more top up cards for time. but still im going to top up for items. /gg

    Valkyrie is Exeptional but its also unexeptional. Why?
    1. No more Fly and Butterfly wings
    effect: if ones mobbed and in dead end how will he/she will survive? if by letting be killed its result to a +5% in base and a -1% on job

    2. Pk-enabled Maps
    effect: Many VAL maps are now pk-enabled thus leading to fewer maps to level. Example is the desert wolf maps and the 4th level of byalan dungeon where marcs,swordfishes and phens are.

    n my point of view, gravity is making ragnarok valkyrie the hardest server to play since theres no more tleportations exepct the acolytes warp portal and the rogue class’ intimidate.
    And some of you are even asking more the maps where the ways to Glast Heim to be PK-enabled. Think first! If those maps are pk-enabled many people including YOU will be unable to level fast since of course Glast Heim is one of the best places to level, thus nobody can go there except the higher levels.
    The Valkyrie project will fall soon. Valkyries counterpart Valhalla is in my point of view the best server there right now. Why? Cause valhalla server does NOT have PK-enabled maps and even though it also doesnt have fly and b. wings at least you get to level freely where ever you want to even when the bots are there. Many bot types are not even KS’(kill-stealers), all you have to do is get the/your target faster than the bots, as easy as that.
    And i believe that Gravity can put anti-bot programs for all servers and make the program a required program for Ragnarok so if the program is uninstalled Ragnarok wont work, right? Easy to say but it will BE worth it. For those who suggested PK-enabled maps on the way to Glast Heim, THink about it and think where youll go if the roads to Glast Heim are blocked by PKers.
    Im not complaining but im saying it because its the truth. another thing is, you can remove the teleport skill for acolytes but there has to be fly wings and b.wings. I know people will counter the statement i said about “remove the teleport skill for acolytes but there has to be fly wings and b.wings” but at least you can still teleport if you buy the fly wigns and use it, right?
