In Ragnarok Episode 18: Demise of Morroc, one of the greatest evils known to Midgard other than Satan Morroc is also making a comeback. Baphomet, the original great demon and boss of Ragnarok Online, is aching to be released from his prison and this time he’s really pissed off and wants to destroy the world. Based on the original lore of Ragnarok Online, Baphomet was actually sealed away by a band of adventurers who challenged the beast in the Hidden Temple. They weren’t able to kill him but they sacrificed their lives to seal the demon in a shrine. Unfortunately for Midgard, the seal’s power has waned over the years. The caretakers of the shrine sensed this and they are now asking for the bravest adventurers in Midgard to enter the shrine to finally destroy the ancient evil known as Baphomet.

What’s so different with this Baphomet? A lot. Check it out after the jump.

The Sealed Shrine is like the Endless Tower - it’s an instance dungeon. Once you go in, you won’t see other players outside from your party. You’ll also have a time limit of 2 hours. If you fail, you can try again immediately. Should you succeed, you can come back after 12 hours to farm this dungeon to your heart’s content.

Part 1: Catacombs

1. Find the Fallen Hero’s Pendant: When you enter the dungeon the hero’s spirit will ask you to find his Soul Pendant in order for him to help you. There are 13 tombs located within the catacomb, and the Pendant will be located randomly within one.

2. To the Altar: Bringing the Pendant to the collapsed tomb near the top of the map will summon the Fallen Hero. You can find the Fallen Hero near the altar at the center of the map.

3. Fire Essence and Apostle’s Token: In order to approach the seal of Baphomet, you’ll need to find 10 Fire Essence from torches located about the floor. In addition, each player will need to carry with them an Apostle’s Token. The token can be obtained from certain monsters named Apostle of Baphomet located around the floor (there are 15 in total). Note that these items are automatically removed from your inventory when you first enter.

Once you enter the Catacombs, you’ll have to break several seals to weaken Baphomet. At his current state, he’s invincible. All attacks, regardless of nature, will just deal 1 point of damage - and he has more than 4 million HP. Once you perform all the quests to weaken him, you’ll have to face him and take him down as quickly as possible. Note that this is a much stronger version of Baphomet - far superior to the one you’ve probably faced in GH or the Hidden Temple. Here’s the guide the I found on the internet:

Part 2: Baphomet Seal

1. Baphomet’s Resurrection: Once on floor 2, you should make your way to the Baphomet Seal. At each of the three entrances to the seal room you’ll be attacked by a number of Baphomet Apostles. It would be wise to clear the three Apostle groups before approaching the altar. At the Altar, when the party leader checks the seal, Baphomet will break free.

2. Defeating Baphomet: When released, Baphomet will be immune to all damage. You will need to pay attention to the commands of the Fallen Hero here. The Hero will call one of the 5 weakening magic seals located in the room. At the seal, one of your party members can use the seal to temporarily break Baphomet’s invulnerability. Using the seal will however will petrify that party member for 20 seconds (regardless of immunity) and drain half their health. Note that Baphomet must be on the seal for this to work. After a minute Baphomet will regain invulnerability and the Hero will call a different seal.

Its important to remember that the same party member cannot activate any of the seals more than once every three minutes. A different party member will be required to do so. A notice will tell you when you can use the seals again (its also listed on your quest window). If you attempt to use a seal before the time has elapsed, you will lose health but the seal itself will not activate. Also be warned that if Baphomet is left to idle for too long he has the ability to fully recover the damage you’ve dealt to him. Instead of teleporting to rude attacks, he will simply use Full Heal.

As a reward for completing this task, you’ll get a Cursed Baphomet Doll as well as several new drops that have been added to Baphomet’s loot table. You can use the doll to create a “Giant Majestic Goat”, details of which have yet to be found out.
