Ragnarok Online 2 Status

People have been asking me lately about the status of Philippine Ragnarok Online 2, the sequel to the most successful MMORPG in the country - Ragnarok Online. It was originally scheduled to be released 3rd Quarter last year (2007), but after internal testing we found out that it wasn’t ready yet. There were a lot of bugs that needed to be fixed and there wasn’t enough content to justify a full-blown launch. Because of those reasons, we delayed the launch to 2008.

When Gravity gave us a visit a few weeks ago, one of the discussions was the future of Ragnarok Online 2. Mr. Changki, General Manager of Gravity, personally gave us his assurance that they are doing their best to ensure that Ragnarok Online 2 will be at par, if not better, than other global MMORPG brands like World of Warcraft. It’s good to know that both Level up and Gravity understand that we only have one shot of launching Ragnarok 2. If the game does not live up to the expectations of the market, then there’s a big chance it won’t even come close to the success Ragnarok reached.

So what’s in store for us when Ragnarok Online 2 finally launches? Mr. Changki said that they’re planning to do a relaunch of Ragnarok Online 2 in Korea sometime this year and they’ll release a new “War of Emperium” feature together with a lot of new improvements in the game. Dozens of maps, monsters, quests, and contents will be included to make sure that when Ragnarok Online 2 is finally released, it will truly be a world class, triple A, kick-ass title. This game has a lot of potential, and we saw that a lot of gamers were really impressed with it during the sneak peek trial we had during Level-up! LIVE 2007.

With that in mind, I wish the development team of Ragnarok Online 2 all the best. no1

  6. Disappointed ako sa LevelUpGames. Tagal nang usapan ang release dated ng RO2 pero wala paring official ang exact date.
    If ever wala parin RO2 sa coming episode ng Satan Morocc for RO1, sure na hindi na ako mag lalaro ng RO2 kahit man lang testing phase.

    If RO2 will go f2p I’d rather think about playing Granado Espada when a new server is launch there.

    Making it pay to play will decrease players.

    One question though, are the accounts that we use for RO2 be the same in RO1???

    Please make it FREE TO PLAY
    some of us can’t always buy load every time we run out of load you know! that was the reason why I quit RO1.
    P2P sucks! >:(

    right now im Lv79 (almost Lv80) in KRO2. i play in server 2.
    (note: the highest Lv player in KRO2 right now is Lv84 korean girl swordy)
    (note2: cant beat them.. 2 people playing in 1 char T_T)

    i dont want to boast but im the highest Lved player among all the foreign players in KRO2.
    well to think that no.1 ang pinoy among all foreign players at nkikipag sabayan sa mga monster na korean players.
    halimaw po sila maglaro. ibang Lv ang caliber ng gameplay nila compared to ph players.

    I noticed in some RO2 wallpapers that the Clown uses a dagger. Will they be able to use whips too?

    Most of my friends in RO1 have left the game (annoyed by the corruption, and the never ending bugs n’ lag)

    ..but we all vowed to reunite in RO2.

    I’m really looking forward to the release of the game.

    Sad to say though, I think it would be the end of Ragnarok Online 1.

    Which would be the better game, I wonder..

Waukeen, bro its me i hope you still remember me well i surely hope so anyway i dont understand why some people want this game to be free to play forever . i mean at start it can be a free to play just like ragnarok 1then when everything is ok i mean running smoothly then thats the time people have to pay imagine having it pay to play at start wouldnt attract much users IMO knowing that the game alone would require a high end pc to make it work would definitely make it hard for students to play the game because not everyone can afford and buy or upgrade their pc’s . well hopefully this RO2 would bring the good old days.. i miss playing havent played for along time my lord knight is stuck at level 94 in RO1 hahaha but still if i have time i chek it from time to time. sorry for being out of topic .. more power wauks

  46. a korean told me in KRO2 that Gravity is going to sell Ragnarok Online 2 to HANGAME.
    there has’nt been any updates in KRO2 since last january and some people say that gravity cant support the development financially.
    kindly confirm if its true. i hope not.
    well i still play KRO2 like once a week. i’ve been waiting asking news when will be the war of emperium comes…

    it would be better if you make it F2P rather than P2P because there are so many F2P online games in the community right now..

    i suggest that field manuals and some other items that will help players to levelup can be bought by cash..

    rare items and equips is “must” be hunted and cant be bought by cash to be fair to some players esp. students.
