Ragnarok: IP Problem Update

Hi guys, let me give you an update on the Ragnarok IP Connection Issue. The problem has already been escalated to IT and the LU big bosses. Based on the update that I got from our IT Head, the connection of Digitel from Taiwan to the Philippines was cut and that connection is what makes players with IP problems connect to Philippine Ragnarok Online. We have to wait for Digitel-Taiwan to fix the connection but I’ll do my best to follow it up.

Regarding the Customer Support replies, what irks me is that they’re saying that CCR is the developer of Ragnarok Online. We all know that the company that made and supports Ragnarok is Gravity - so I’ll have to correct that with the CS Department later. As to their statement about foreign IPs, there really is a clause in the contract with Gravity saying that we can only service gamers in the Philippines. That’s why this is out of my hands already and I can only escalate and follow it up with the big bosses. There are no timelines here guys, all we can really do is wait.

Hope this update clears things up.

  2. Yes, Thank you for your explanation but you should give notice beforehand so we won’t spend or “WASTE” money for these. Its very unfair for us playing here abroad that you didnt give further notice before, it was just suddenly gone. It’s so unfair……


  3. They should have done the ban a long time ago then… also suffice to say give us the courtesy at least a week to transfer our item or sell them any way we can… It is obsurd to know it does not have a proper timeline.

  9. Guys I’m just the messenger here. ^^; Most of the policies with pRO were already there when I got in. As for the technical explanation, you can believe it or not but that’s from the IT Head of Level-up na mismo. @Kramer: I agree with you on the courtesy thing. If ever we will shut down foreign service then we’ll put it back up first and not just end it abruptly. Take note that we didn’t block IPs, the connection was just cut from Taiwan.

  11. just my opinion… pwedeng totoong ang me kasalanan ng disconnection natin ay ang digitel-taiwan link, lalo na ang greendot pala e seattle based. so that answers it. well just have to wait na mafix na yun. actually about sa binibigay ng CS na sagot, i dont think that is the reason… as ive said, yun mga sagot ng CS nakukuha lang nila yan sa database nila. they are not really sure kung yan nga ang reason. so i believe, hindi un ang reason, so dont fret. ang kaso, bakit naman kya naputol ang connection ng digitel-taiwan? lumindol na naman ba?

It would be true to say that they are also doing this on jRO (japan) and other RO’s except iRO… japanese might also be affected at this stage… the best thing i can think off to resolve the problem is to change the contract abolishing the said clause otherwise it is futile to fight even if I am the big boss of LU. I do believe though that we will be given a time to say goodbye to our pRO family.

  15. Di ba ang reason kaya bawal maglaro ang mga Foreigners ng PRO ay dahil di sila Pinoy at para di mag-agawan ng costumers ang mga local RO’s? At dapat ay Pinoy ang naglalaro ng PRO? The IFP’s ay pinoy na pinoy! Most of them started playing here in the Philippines, nang magtrabaho sila abroad, they still continued playing in PRO using their old accounts. Hindi nawalan ng customers ang IRO or iba pang RO’s since the IFP’s are original and even beta PRO players naman!
    Paano kung nasa Philippine Embassy sa Japan ang isang IFP at doon siya naglalaro ng PRO? Di ba considered na Pilipinas pa rin iyon? Ok, kung anu-anu nang nonsense itong sinasabi ko. Pero mahirap maghintay, i guess the IFP’s should start finding a way to come back to PRO. We already miss you guys and girls! :(

They are talking about the location not the race. For - mav~mia, a banned route does not affect any other services only the banned destination and/or source… wikipedia and you tube if i’m not mistaken takes a different route (not Taiwan).


  23. Sa tingin ko lang mukhang tinakot ang digitel ng RO developer (Gravity) using legal issues para maputol ang internation service for LU… kasi kung ako ang developer ganun ang gagawin ko.

  25. Well it is a fact that digitel connection is the problem. The question is why did they do it. According to Wauks LU is also a victim here. I would only mean either Digitel is asking for more $… or Gravity is acting based on what is on the contact.

  29. @kramer, errr d ba sa unang sabi ni wauks sabi nya its because tapos na ang service agreement… meaning baka tapos na ang contract ng LU sa digitel. and siguro nde namalayan ng LU na patapos na pala contrata nila with digitel kaya ayun… just my opinion lang naman… wala bang makakapagverify sa digitel kung meron silang naging problem nga sa connection sa taiwan…

  33. @kramer, yun yung sinasabi ko dati pa, na ang sagot ng CS e based lang sa database kaya paulit ulit lang din sagot nila,hehe. kaya nga ask ko if lumindol na naman ba sa taiwan kse d ba before ang daming connection na naapektuhan dahil merong major link na naputil din. @ vanilla, kaw ba si vanilla from singapore, hehe.

  34. Hi Mheena, kung lindol kasi yun ibig sabihin down router nila… lahat ng nasa tables damay… laki ng lugi nila… kaya aaksyonan nila yun agad… in this case 2 days na wala pang connection so iba talaga ang maiisip mo. Sana namay wag lindol kasi mas importante buhay ng tao kaysa sa pRO.


  35. @kramer, or pwedeng me kumalikot sa router ng digitel at nawala ang route. or pwedeng nasira yun router na yun kaya naputol ang link. pero i still think kung technical issues nga between digitel and LU ang nangyari, dapat informed ang LU dun. pero yun nga sabi naman ni wauks na sabi daw ng IT head ng LU na connection ng ng digitel-taiwan ang me problem, so i believe yun nga yun. ang tanong lang anong link problem ba yun

I think router to router connection problem… pede rin na nag change ng config sa router… which affected the table or port kung san nadaloy ang data ng RO… 5000 yung port number nya parang yahoo. Maari ring LU ang nag change ng router config accidentally which affect the connection… daming possibility… pede daling ayusin yun eh… di aabutin ng 1 hour kung available ang both routers.

    It seems to me that another requirement for playing Ragnarok, other than the usual PC specifications, is the player’s ISP provider. T_T. Anyway, what ISP provider can u recommend other than PLDT, Smart Bro, Globe, and Digitel? Coz m plnning to change my ISP provider if this thing will not be solved in a few days. I dunno but I guess a lot of players will have to adjust because this thing is inevitable. Please provide us a list if possible. Thanks.

Guys mukhang aabutin pa tayo ng buong linggo nito… mahirap may connect ng fiber cables… I think LU should find a different alternative for the meantime… I can see PLDT as my last trace I hope LU is smart enough to notice it and the’ll be willing to work with PLDT to restore the line even temporarity…
