When we launch at episode or a patch, there is a lot that the players don’t see. There is intensive internal testing to determine bugs and potential abuses/exploits. One of the potential problems would be the Hugel Monster Race. There was a big chance that players would use bots to constantly man it 24/7. However, we decided to push through with it because the medals were non-tradable; which means that if you were to bot something like that, it would take you several months before you got something nice.
The sad thing is that NOT EVERYTHING happens as planned… despite the fact that the medals were not tradable before the patch was uploaded to the main servers, they suddenly did become tradable when Hugel went live! WTF!?
Anyway, to make a long story short, this is what happened:
Some players decided to abuse it by making free trial accounts and botting to keep getting medals. They passed it around to one account.

We banned the accounts that were the benefactors and we decided to eradicate all the novices in the area. Oh yeah, that’s the reason why the server is going down now. Gravity is applying the fix.

Victory, hehe.

I, however, am concerned about those who have managed to collect 600+ medals already. That is what’s unfair here. I even read on one post in RB that someone already received a Combat Knife because of this game feature. >.
Leviant on March 19, 2007
nope.. summer tickets can’t be sent via mail, tried it, parang nag error nung isesend na. d natuloy pag send.. parang.. “message sending failed” XD

I beg to disaggree. The Medals can be dropped, dealed and vended in Sakray. Your testers failed miserably to find this out, or rather insufficient action was done to the prior report of Yralyn.

Summer Tickets. what are they for? I picked up some of them during my novice time to be a gunslinger but I can’t get rid of them. X_X
I searched in google for it and the only matches is a Summer Event for other Ragnarok Communities but none in our server.
Customer Service did not even now that the tickets can be discarded. X_X though luck for my character may additional weight na siyang 35 X_X

frosthounder on March 19, 2007

Macy on March 19, 2007
good thing this was brought up @_@ another one, what’s the use of summer tickets @_____@ can anyone clarify.. and uhmmm what will happen to the medals that i put in my kafra before the said maintenance? @_@
mhuu~ on March 19, 2007
@frostfounder
really? I tried selling mine but summer tickets can’t be sold at normal NPCs.
maybe I should try it to other NPCs.
Xeniebop on March 19, 2007
aww, sir wauks, you can still mail the medals on another account. So the medals being non-tradable is kinda useless. =(

• Several threads were already created at Ragnaboards. Yet, you(LU) didn’t bother reading it. Also considering the purpose of the so called “Test Server”, you should have noticed it earlier.
• As for bots in the mini-games, I like to clear out that those were not bots, they were simply hexed clients or were using different PCs since the abuse was about those tradable medals and not the bottable mini-games. For using novices, its either they don’t have load or just don’t want to waste the 3x Mod Exp for their main characters.
• And lastly, I really laughed when a GM asked a player: “may bot ba dito sa mini-games?” WTF? ikaw pa nagtanong? eh ikaw yung GM. Lol!

Those were just comments and nothing more. Thanks.

LOL. hydra pwns noobs. ^_^
wait, so you banned all the players who received medals from the noob accounts? what about those players that didnt use the five hour freebie and botted with their harvesting accounts? did they receive justice?
anyway… HYDRA PWNS NOOBS ! >.

@…
I understand your sentiments man and we apologize that it took this long to fix. As for the trial in the test servers – Gravity assured us it would be fixed before server launch, unfortunately the fix wasn’t applied. For the bot thing/hex client, either way the abuse targetted the medals. If the mail thing isn’t fixed by Wednesday, we will be taking down the monster race until Gravity fixes it. Lastly, yung comment ng GM patawa po yun ^^; Don’t get me wrong – I appreciate the feedback.

Moonstalk on March 22, 2007
uhh… sure, you got screenshots? And you’re like that guy from RB saying “cust is always right”. so, as long as you pay, even if you create havoc in game, its ok – becoz YOU PAY! right?
JojoMOjo on March 22, 2007
B.A.O on March 25, 2007
wow so funny, you’re claiming na ayus siya sa Sakray when Hugel came out?
yeah right.
Wauks on March 25, 2007
@BAO read my earlier comment – we knew it had some problems and Gravity said they would fix it before the game went up. But when it did… toinks. Hehe ^^;
Anyway, I have a meeting with them this week so we can figure out what we can do to curb the abuse that’s still on-going (even though without the trade).
certified karerista on March 26, 2007
IMO
this is another one of gravity’s scheme for zeny/price inflation
control
people will lose money for betting in return for level 4 weapons
on the other hand, level 4 weapons will flood the market
thereby dropping its price to affordable levels
and they also get money for accounts topup ng mga karerista
everybody wins !!!
sinung galit sa scheme na itu:
1. mga non-karerista
2. mga mayayaman na madami nang level 4 weapons baka bumagsak presyu ng bilihin nila
3. mga talangka which is not 1 or 2 : non-karerista at mga polobe
