Thanks to Whistler for this tip. Apparently, Rangers and Rune Knights aren’t the only Ragnarok 3rd Job classes that get mounts. Based on this photo, it looks like the 3rd Job Class of the Blacksmith, the Mechanic, is gearing up to have a mount of it’s own and OMGWTFBBQ it is AWESOME. Here the picture that I’m talking about.

Discuss after the jump!
There are no details yet if it’s actually a mount, pet, or something a Mechanic makes. It will be interesting to see how this type of change will affect the game. Maybe it will function like RF Online’s MAU? I mean, something that a Mechanic can summon and actually use in combat? If they did it that way, then that would be uber!
FYI – the picture is brought to you by Doddler from his iRO Wiki post

Bakit parang Hapon yung mga nakasulat imbes na Koreano??? Mukhang hindi totoo yung balita.

I doubt it’ll be a mount. I hope it’s something like a homunculus, only tougher and meaner, since Mechanics can’t potion pitch.

i hope it’s a mobile/power/exo suit

Prior to seeing this pic, I saw this thread
http://forums.irowiki.org/showthread.php?t=15988
among the skill names are
NC_MAINFRAME
NC_B_SIDESLIDE
NC_F_SIDESLIDE
NC_HOVERING
NC_ACCELERATION
NC_ARMSCANNON
NC_COLDSLOWER
NC_FLAMELAUNCHER
NC_VULCANARM
NC_PILEBUNKER
NC_BOOSTKNUCKLE
NC_MADOLICENCE
NC because MC is already taken by merchant skills prefix
What I’m saying is based upon the skills and said picture, putting two and two together – Mechanics are leaning towards what most are indeed speculating:
*insert Front Mission/Eva/Mech Warrior/Gurren Lagann/RF Online reference here* LOL
some may dislike it, some may like it, but that’s the fun of speculating, you’ll never know until they official announce it ^^,

and if memory serves me right, it was in a jRO conference/expo that the 3rd job names were announced, along with some concept art, I think kasama yung pic sa pinakita.

anu b yan!.. parang sasakyan sa metal slug.. hahaha

as mentioned by doddler, mechanics will be able to wear special armors as that like of the ones in final fantasy (magitech armors)
I believe that is one of the concept art made for that armor

meron na po bang sprite yung 3rd job ng mga alternate jobs?? hehe
Jerome on February 17, 2009
Hmm kung mangyayari yan. Parang MAU Rider ng bellato ng RF online yan
The Angel-Killer on February 18, 2009
now this is a surprise indeed X_X for what i see, i think gravity is working hand-in-hand with japan this time to conceptualize the 3rd jobs. see in most of the sprites and designs of the 3rd job is japan art. just an IMO.
about that mount…i’m thinking of the MAU of RF..but it wont be as great as the MAU because we are heading for a overall balancing of the game (don’t forget that Gravity said that in their presscon)

if it’s a mount and the smith is inside the mechanic. it’ll look funny. where are you going to put the cart?
if it’s a pet, it will look like smith + cart + pet
or are they going to choose between the mount or the cart?
i think, it’ll be like the smith of lineage 2
Krug on February 18, 2009
kung mount yan, wag sana bagalan nila yung movespeed… katakot yan kung kasing bilis ng dragon/wolf/peco yan… parang si chouji na nagpalaki ng katawan na kasing bilis ni rock lee. 8-}

from what i have read from the iro wiki forums is that it is an equipable armor wherein the mechanic has to lose his/her cart in order for the mechanic to transform/change into what the image shows. i hope the skills get something stronger than cart termination/ram cause mastersmith damage skills need the carts.
we will be getting the turret skill(finally) which we were SUPPOSE to get as a mastersmith. so yay~ other skills look more gunslingery than smiths. oh well..
but yea… it would be funny and weird to be walking a merchant class without the cart. especially if you play it as a main.
