This is a long overdue post. Gravity released the sprites and skill list for one of the most anticipated Ragnarok Online 3rd Job Classes, the Guillotine Cross. What makes this class really exciting is that it has a very dark, mysterious, and cool feel to it which is natural for Assassin-based job classes. Anyway, I did some initial analysis of the new skills of the Guillotine Cross. It looks like the Guillotine Cross will continue to be a nightmare in PVP. Check out why after the jump.
Some of the most notable skills the Guillotine Cross brings to the table are:
CROSS IMPACT
Description: Description: Strikes a single target rapidly for 7 hits. Range 3 cells.DARK ILLUSION
Description: Rapidly closes the distance to a target and deals damage. Has a low chance to trigger Cross Impact.
These two skills combined can be a major factor in PVP scenarios. One of the problems of melee based classes is their inability to reach their target given all of the snare, stun, and slow abilities. A skill that allows a Guillotine Cross to close in instantly with a chance to trigger one of their most devastating melee attacks is just terrifying – especially if you’re a soft mage or hunter.
NEW POISONS
Paralize: For 300 seconds, decreases attack speed by -10%, evasion -10%, and movement speed by 1/2.
Pyrexia: For 300 seconds, causes incurable blindness and causes the player to see illusions. Sometimes causes 100 damage which can interupt casting of skills.
Disheart: For 300 seconds, drops the effectiveness of recovery on the target by 20%. This effect stacks with critical wounds.
Leech End: For 300 seconds, drains HP every second.
Antidote: Cancels out the effects of a Guillotine Cross poison on a single target.
Venom Bleed: For 15 seconds, reduces max HP by 15%.
Magic Mushroom: For 300 seconds, every 4 seconds you lose 3% of your HP and involuntarially cast a random skill.
Toxin: For 300 seconds, every 3 seconds it causes the damage motion on your character, interrupting any skills. Skills not interrupted do not receive the effects of your weapon or cards.
Oblivion Curse: For 300 seconds causes the target to suffer from amnesia. While in amnesia it blocks natural SP recovery, and cannot be canceled via Lex Divinia or green potion. While in this status you cannot use any skills.
Here’s a very nice addition to the Guillotine Cross class – new poisons! Each poison has a distinct ability which can help in either PVE or PVP scenarios. The Oblivion Curse poison can literally block out any chances of retaliating in PVP since those under it’s effect can’t use their skills.
ROLLING CUTTER
Description: Katar Exclusive Skill. Using the katar strikes in a rotation in a 3×3 area around the player striking all enemies in range. Each rotation increases your rotation counter, which increases the damage of Cross Ripper Slasher. You can’t have more than 10 rotation counters.CROSS RIPPER SLASHER
Description: Consumes the rotation counters accumulated from Rolling Cutter. The spinning blade is shot out dealing strong damage to a target. The damage is increased by the number of counters. After using Cross Ripper Slasher your counters are reset to 0. Range 7 cells.
The two skills listed above is the most powerful combo attack of the Guillotine Cross. Basically you keep on using Rolling Cutter to get 10 rotation counters. Note that Rolling Cutter is AOE and can be a pretty good weapon in portal defenses or in melee rumble fights. After getting the rotation cutters, you can then unleash one devastating Cross Ripper Slasher to one target which deals massive amounts of damage.
Taking all the new skill into account, I’d have to say that the Guillotine Cross will still be a major force on the battlefield. The new skills can literally change the tide of battle in PVP – especially in War of Emperium. They have a good mix of defensive and offensive skills, mostly centered on PVP.

Every Wise Opponent would probably consume Venom Bleed Poison before facing any Guillotine Cross. (Good thing, it only last for 15s so I doubt they would ever used this one considering Antidote is easy to prepare to nullify the opponent’s poison to change it with different poison like Oblivion Curse..)
So they would cling on Disheart Poison which is 300s with a similar effect like Critical Wound lvl1. which makes it stack with the Critical Wound debuff.
I hope they fix Cross Ripper Slasher’s full counter damage since it is supposed to be the new powerful attack of Guillotine Cross which matches the current EDP+SL+SB damage output. (In renewal it get nerfed big time)
EDP+Cross Ripper Slasher with 10 counters (still not fixed)
EDP+Cross Impact (can be used with any kind of weapons) (can spam twice)(already nerfed with a delay after using it twice, still better than EDP+SL+SB in War of Emperium and Battlegrounds)
EDP+SL+SB (from 6400% down to 2000%)
Make your opponent Sleep, Venom Trap, Leech End via Poison Smoke, if you think your opponent will survive the attack and the sleep status effect would wear off use any other powerful skill that would send the player back to the respawn point or use Magnum Break with a sleeping status weapon to return the opponent back into sleep status (I don’t know if this works).

the sprite is ugly. and so are the rest of the 3rd jobs. one of the major things about ragnarok for me, is how awesome the characters look compared to other games.
the skills so far seem to be balancing out with the new stat system they’re released under. magic mushroom :heh: cast a random skill, i wonder if that means just from your skill set or from everywhere.

naiispan kong bumalik, at paborito ko talaga ang ro nung unang nilabas ito lalo na ang seige. kaso ang unang unang seige na pasalubong sa amin ng mga kaibigan ko WOW wat the FUCK, LAG! pero nag continue akong maglaro hangang end ng feb.
ngayon may campaign ang LU ressurect ang mga old players, ressurect muna ang dying RO. bago kayo mag ressurect ng players.
GO! ask nyu mga players, continuing players old players ano reklamo nila. LAG. hindi na kami naghahabol sa mga hack incident na nangyayari sa RO, hindi na kami nagrereklamo sa mga scammers o kahit anuman mangyari sa account, at sa nawawala mga gamit dahil kahit hindi naman ma action ang LU we loved the game. pero paano namin magugustuhan ang game kung ang game mismo may problema.
LAG issue, LAG program, LAG generator, LAG problem. Disconnection problem, LAG maps yun na lang po ang problema namin. hindi na sa mga scammers hackers. sayang ang mga students, old players na nagtitiis sa mga ipon para sa game time, cash merchant na ginagastos. at malalaman namin ang meron din palang so called LAG generator, LAG program? WAT THE FUCK, panay may BUGS
BUG PROBLEMS? wow paano namin makakaenjoy ng laro kung panay bugs ang game. sa VALKYRIE meron dupe wipe, DUPE WIPE! DUPE? akala namin na wala na ang DUPE sa lahat ng servers, kaya nga kami nag alis dahil sa mga mahal na gamit namin sa RO.
