Ragnarok 2: Waukeen, the Enchanter

I’ve been playing at the Level-up Games internal servers for Ragnarok Online 2 lately. I was able to play a Recruit during the Global CBT so I wanted to try something new this time. Since I wasn’t feeling too good about melee characters, I decided to try out the Enchanter job class. After around 4-6 hours of doing a the initial training quests and killing a bunch of monsters, Waukeen was finally ready to change job! Here’s a screenshot of her as an Enchanter.

My weapon changed from being a simple and crude-looking short sword into a sword-staff of sorts. From the way she holds the weapon, it really looks like she’s carrying a Katana instead of a staff. More screenshots after the jump.

One of the notable things in Ragnarok 2 is the interactive environment. You can actually sit on stools and benches and the characters have various emoticons while they are in sitting positions. Here’s a screenshot of Waukeen resting near the forge after a long day of fighting evil.

When I played Recruit, I only reached level 8. This time I’ll try to go all the way ’till 20-25 so I can actually explore other cities and see more high level monsters. I’ll try to post screenshots of my adventures and maybe even videos as the days go by. I just have to install FRAPS in my laptop so I can get footage to share with you guys.

    BTW, any news on when CBT of pRO2 is coming out? And how beta testers will be chosen?

  5. @CBT: We’re going to announce the CBT selection process soon. One of the things we’re going to do on October is have live internet cafe demos where you guys can actually have a hands-on experience with RO2.

  11. I’m pretty excited about pRO2, since it got a major improvement. Ah, sana makasama ako sa mnga beta testers >.> Gusto kong makalaro sa kRO2, kaso wala kssn eh. Hihi, Can’t wait! Btw, nice pose in the 2rd screenie, Sir Wauks!

    problem: username/password is ok, server selection is ok, character selection is ok. problem is that after selecting character, it either loads and then hangs immediately after loading map and character or doesn’t load at all (failed to connect). there’s no other way to turn off ragna but to do alt-f4. then after it, the patcher’s progress bar takes a long time to say ‘Patch process complete’ unlike before.

    Nah. Currently napapatakbo ko siya ng 512 na RAM and 256 na video card lang. Matagal nga lang loading times. Kung 1g na RAM mo, mabilis na yun.

    Sorry for being OT but have to post it here too
    for quick response

    I got the same problem I thought there is conspiracy ~_~ since several of my guildmates experience that problem too. The Agitlords shouldn’t be counted today due to problem that occured since a lot of players have been affected. Ragnaboards, MYLU, LU sites, Ragnarok Online any server even Sakray can’t connect.

    My internet provider is Bayantel too hope it would be fixed soon. Wow what a messy day :)

    Still not yet fixed as of today. Maybe it would take days again ~_~ like what happened recently that block international players from playing pRO. I hope they do something about as quickly as they can.

  44. @Bayantel: LU is already working with Bayantel to fix to problem. Nakakainis nga kasi we have some school events running right now pero walang game trial kasi the connection is Bayantel din. sob


  45. How did the job change go in RO2? How about the stats, do they reset when you change jobs?

    And what’s the selection process for CBT? I don’t play in shops. :(

    OT: ZpDee is my provider, and I’m also having trouble with it.

    nakakapaglaro po ako ng ro2 korean version po..kaya lang hininto ko muna kasi di ko maintindihan yung mga npc..pero nakakapagquest ako dahil may translation yung quest lang..magkakaroon po ba ng patch na lang para maging Ph version.. laki kasi ng file size ng ro 2 pag dl..

    i read in mmo site that the enchanter is not a damage dealer, how true is this? (i was thinking of trying it out once the game comes out in CBT or OBT) im really into the FS thing….the skills posted at mmo site are quite vague so I dont really find the job classes interesting …yet

    another thing, how come walang ellr at dimago sa paglabas ng game? di ba lugi ung mga gustong kumuha nung two races na yan, since they would have to start again?
