2007 is the year of the titan MMORPGs. Gaming companies will be bringing in premium titles which will change the landscape of online gaming. But before we get all excited about them, we have to tackle the basic requirements. With all the games coming out this year, one must ask himself the question… Is my computer rig ready? Can my PC actually handle Granado Espada, Perfect World, and Ragnarok 2? I’ve compiled the minimum and recommended specs of the top titles coming out this year for everyone’s reference. If you’re a cafe owner or if you play at a cafe, it’s best that you show this post to the cafe owner so he can prepare ahead of time.

PERFECT WORLD

PW

For all the hype and buzz this game is generating, you guys will be surprised what kind of a PC you need to run it. It looks like the chinese developers made sure that low-end PCs could handle the requirements. You guys can actually play PW using a PC with the following specs: P3 800mhz, 64MB Video Card, 256 RAM. Let me put a disclaimer here though, you are not assured of good game play. I’m sure you will encounter lag spikes, especially during the city battles. But if you have money to burn, you can easily crank up your PC to the recommended specs of RF Online and have flawless play. The recommended specs are: P4 2.4 Ghz, 1024 mb RAM, Video Card: Nvidia 6 series or 7 series video card with 256 or more memory. Here’s another video of Perfect World. It has a lot of players using skills and you will notice that it would be really nice if you had a good PC to play it in.

The main features of Perfect World are the tri-racial system, character customization, city battle, mount system, and flying.

GRANADO ESPADA

GGE
IP-egames has already announced that they are bringing in Granado Espada here in the Philippines. GE boasts of innovations never before seen in the online gaming industry; namely their three-character system. I’ve tried GE before and it sometimes feels like an RTS because of all the things you can do with three characters. The minimum requirements for GE are:P3 1GHz, 512MB RAM, 64MB Video Card. The recommended specs are: P4 2GHz, 1GB RAM, GeForce FX 4Ti/Radeon9000 Video Card. This is a trailer I got from youtube, it’s their teaser for Version 2.

RAGNAROK 2: GATE OF THE WORLD

RO2

Yep, that’s a GO BIG TIME GTB right there (LOL). And of course, I save the best for last! The most anticipated game in the Philippines – Ragnarok Online 2. RO2 boasts of multiple community and PVP features that rival that of WoW. The development of the game is well-documented, seeing as we’ve been waiting for this for almost 2 years now. From what we’ve gathered so far, Gravity is putting a lot of effort into building the community aspect. The game has hundreds of 3D emotes and multiple plot-based quests. Levelling is also infinitely easier if you do it with a party, as opposed to soloing all the time. There are also 3 races that you can play, the normans, ellr, and the dimago. The minimum specs of RO2 are: P3 1.2Ghz, 64M Video Card, 512 RAM. The recommended specs are: P4, 128MB video card, and 1G RAM.

Here’s the latest trailer of RO2.

Well, that’s it for now. I’ll try to get the minimum specs of Lineage II and EVE Online and post it here as well. Remember, if you own a cafe and your PCs can’t run the games above, I’m pretty sure that the gamers will decide to go to the next cafe that can.

Cheers!

thanks for compiling the said requirements for the different games chief.

And it looks like if you can play RO2, then you can play all the new games for this year. So future proof the PC already and save up for a bit before going for a budget PC.

If I may add a bit, If all games would need a much higher specifications then I will suggest that they (gamers) upgrade to a C2D processor already with a minimum of 1GB ram or higher. Lets face it a lot of us has different programs running in the background like IM clients and torrent clients while playing our fave games.

So mas maganda maiwasan yung pagbagal ng PC para masaya ang paglalaro.

Yes Mhu, you’re on the money there. Gamers or cafe owners should do ONE BIG UPGRADE this year instead of doing “tingi tingi”.

It’s already a fact that a lot of premium titles are coming this year, so everyone who wants to enjoy them have to prepare by setting up their PCs.

are these game windows vista compatible?

• wauks on March 11, 2007

• HeWhoHasNoName on March 11, 2007

PC Upgrades is beginning to be a must in gaming. Investing in PC is great deal when you are an avid gamer. *goes back playing PW CBT* kiddin. XD

• BabyfacE on March 11, 2007

weeeee…. that means my system can handle PW, since it can run GE although it lags when in city… ehehehe… dunno with RO2 though…

• wauks on March 11, 2007

Actually if you take time to compare, I think PW specs is just the same as ROSE/FlyFF. If your PC can run either game, then you’re okay with PW. It might lag a bit though during the city battles.

Is botting allowed in RO 2? or hackers can manipulate a bot in the security of it?

• wauks on March 13, 2007

As far as I know, it’s not allowed. The focal point of RO2 is the community aspect – if they get bots in then it’s kinda er… stupid. Lol. XD

• iver on March 13, 2007

There are controls in PW to avoid lag.. just hit Control F9 or F12.. it will lower your game graphic settings.. but still can enjoy

• Hopskrieg on March 14, 2007

When RO2 gets released here, what does LU plan on doing with the old pRO? I hope they give some credit to the players of the original RO.
