Ragnarok 2: Job Class Information & Poll

Ragnarok Online 2, the most anticipated MMORPG/Online Game in the Philippines, has a very unique job system. You can actually change jobs anytime but you will retain the skills that you get. This makes it possible for players to customize their characters according to their playing style and preference. However, I’ll talk about that in a different post. For now I’d like to announce the new poll that’s currently running on the sidebar of the blog. It’s a very simple Ragnarok 2 Poll asking you guys what jobs you will take when the game goes OBT.

Here are the Norman (Human) Job Classes that you can pick from when RO2 goes OBT:

Swordsman: Melee character that primarily uses a sword.
Clown: Melee-Support character. Has several buffs for party mates.
Thief: Classic Assassin type with Backstab.
Recruit: Futuristic RO2 character - complete with Gunblade.
Enchanter: Cross of mage and priest. Has offensive spells, heal, debuffs
Novice: Where everything begins.

Vote on the poll guys! It’s free, easy-to-use, and we all get to see what job classes are favored by Pinoy Gamers. In Ragnarok Online, I had the GMs pull out some data. Did you know that the most popular job class is the Swordsman type? They account for 21% of all the characters in Philippine Ragnarok Online. They’re followed by Archer type classes.

  1. I can’t exactly think of a good answer to the polls kuya wauks… I’m thinking something like a thief or a swordsman with enchanter spells. Got any idea as to where we could find more info on each class & ability, maybe help out with the class picking?


  2. I’ll go thief. yun ang balak ko gawin nung naglaro ako dun sa kRO beta. kaso di ko na pa lvl novice lang hehe. pinapa lvl ko pa kse un skills.

  3. kalimutan ko pla. madami gumagawa clown muna to get the self heal skill, then proceed to the class of their choice pra madali pa lvl.

  5. i prefer long range types like recruit or a spell caster enchanter.naiinterrupt ba ang casting ng enchanter?kung inde,mas maganda.parang nakaphen!

  9. I agree with mhuu, one of the most unique aspects of RO1 was the merchant class. Then again, they probably removed the class since the primary functions of the merchant class (particularly vending) might be given to all classes as a basic skill OR RO2 would have an auction house to buy and sell stuff in, like what most online games do today. Still, I’ve always loved being a merch, difficult as it may be :p

OT: I’m guessing that PLDT &/or Bayantel has been having some weird connection issues, because last time I did a tracert to LU’s main site and ragnaboards there’s a problem on one of the routers in Makati. I can’t browse RB (although sabi ni Doggburner super kupad lang ng RB sa side niya), I can’t connect to ROEmpire forums, pRO Sakray can’t patch, the commercial servers patch BUT GameGuard fails to update, RF Online fails to patch, and although I haven’t tested connecting to PW yet (and patching seemed OK), I won’t be surprised if I wouldn’t be able to access PW’s servers. Kuya wauks, pakikulit naman yung mga taga-IT please TY.


  11. Ever since nglaro ako ng MMORPG, swordsman/knight (and the like) palagi una kong nilalaro para todo kayod tlga. Kaya I voted for Swordsman! Yeah!

  14. Being a Recruit was fun. You don’t get hit much, especially if you know how to kite. Just keep on moving out of range from your opponent and keep on shooting, hehe.


  15. @Yralyn: The official Ragnarok 2 site should be up sometime late October. For now you can check out MMOSITE’s Ragnarok 2 Vault. I made a post about RO2 Resource Sites. Just search for it na lang. :)

  22. @Mau: Normans muna for OBT/CBT. Ellr and Dimago will be major patch updates. @Nineveh: Yes, swordsman are awesome. They also have really cool skills.


  23. hirap kaya magpa lvl ng job level!same lang naman pa lvl ng job at base pero kung high level ka na eh madali na yun.pero kung low level pa,hirap nun.

  26. Well.. all the jobs are really great.. i mean the Gunslinger.. i mean the Recruit has squalls gun blade!
    i think i’ll go for the recruit..

    hmmmhh.. just want to ask.. is there an exact date on the CBT release??

    please inform us cause our group is really looking forward to be a part of it!
