IT’S OFFICIAL. The Philippines will be the official host to this year’s RAGNAROK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. You read that right! More than 10 teams from around the world will fly in to Manila, Philippines so that they can compete in the biggest online gaming tournament for Ragnarok Online. This is the announcement that our Marketing Director, Jake San Diego, hinted about in his interview in Hackenslash. With the addition of RWC 2008, LEVEL UP LIVE is shaping up to be one of the biggest events not only in the Philippines, but in South East Asia!

In my past posts, I’ve been also hinting about this. As a gamer myself, I see no other greater honor than to be able to represent my country and prove to the rest of the world that I am the best. If there is anything that will really cement your name in gaming history – then this is it. If you win, then you are officially the “BEST IN THE WORLD”. That’s how big RWC 2008 is.
Because of this major development, we’re delaying the start of the Agit Lord Scoring to May 14, 2008. This will give time for guildmasters to recruit members and tell their friends to start anew in Ragnarok in preparation for the battle to represent the country. This is it guys. This will probably be the most intense and most meaningful tournament in the history of Philippine Ragnarok Online.

if it had to be a really big news, the RWC being held in the Philippines should be it.
there were rumors circulating even before the announcement of RPC 2008 that LU Live would now be held in THREE DAYS rather than two. it was half-correct as the RWC could be the reason for having an extra day, but i am not sure if LU is going to do it that way.
sa dami ng dead time ng LU Live for two days, pwedeng-pwede ring maisingit ang RWC doon. ang magiging debate lang would be to either have RPC tourney first before the RWC tourney or vice versa. for me though, RPC-RWC would make sense as the champ of RPC would do battle in RWC. the other way around would be pointless unless meron nanamang separate tourney for it like last year.

For me this is a wrong move. Ito ang naging problema ng RPC last year. ung mga matches before the finals na ndi nakita ng mga audience e doon maraming controversies na nangyari. ang malala pa last year, kung ano lang ang results, un lang ang narereport, ndi kasama ung mga rason kung bkit na DQ ung isang team at kung bakit inabot ng madaling araw ung isang laban.
ndi tuloy maaalis sa isipan ng ibang players na bka naluto ung final 8. to be fair and transparent, the final 8 tournament SHOULD be held at Level Up Live para kitang-kita ng maraming audience at maalis ang doubts and anumang controversies na maaaring mangyari.
