The movie industry of the Philippines has always been troubled since Hollywood films keep on taking up the lions share of the market. Since we can’t match the graphics and effects of Hollywood films, most of the local movies turn to dramas and comedies. However, we’ve seen long strides in Philippine cinema effects in the past few years. I actually enjoyed watching Exodus a few years ago and it looks like I’ll be watching another local film this December. Ramon “Bong” Revilla stars in another film which features a lot of computer graphics and animation. It’s called RESIKLO and it seems to have good potential based on the trailer.

    RESIKLO TRAILER

More about the film after the jump.

Here’s some more information you might want to know about the film:

Director of Encantadia and Atlantika, MARK A. REYES, dgpi
Producers of Exodus, IMUS PRODUCTIONS and IGNITE MEDIA INC.

Starring Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Jennylyn Mercado, Dingdong Dantes, Michelle Madrigal, TJ Trinidad, Mylene Dizon, Bobby Andrews, Roi Vinzons etc.

An Official Entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival

    Showing December 25, 2007

    Presented in Dolby 7.1
    First ever in the Philippines

They have a good cast and I hope that the movie delivers come December.

    • kulugo on December 1, 2007

      wow really cool!
      pinoy mecha!!!
sana they can sustain the wow factor sa buong pelikula.
we do have great talents here in animation (CG/Cell) and we also have great writers. opefully we can grow our own culture and not just ‘recycle’ japanese+western cyberpunks etc. uso naman fusion so i guess ok na din! hehe

    • S P Y on December 1, 2007

    • Fred-ster on December 1, 2007

honestly though i was fooled with its trailer. i thought it was a some kind if sci-fi action movie from hollywood then suddenly i saw Bong Revilla’s face… /omg!! I wanted to laugh not because of seeing him in a transformers-like themed movie, but because of the following message that trailer expressed… that Resiklo came from RECYCLE ahahahahahahaha. i mean i know recycling is important but putting it as a theme for that movie, even if sabihin nating sa trailer lang yan, is still kinda inappropriate.

    • keem21 on December 1, 2007

    • wakoko on December 1, 2007

    • wakoko on December 1, 2007

/no1

    • tre on December 1, 2007

    • tranx on December 1, 2007

    • LadyLazarus on December 1, 2007

Wow. I think this is really great. Naman guys, you are being soooooo critical kaagad. Let’s reserve judgement when we see the entire thing. Kayo kaya gumawa ng ganyan pelikula. Besides, you can’t expect a sleek high-tech machine kasi hindi naman yun ang purpose ng movie diba. Resiklo nga eh. Recycled. Kaya talagang mukhang tagpi-tapi ung machine. I love the mecha, grit an all. I give Bong Revilla an A+ for effort. At least he is striving to bring the Pinoy film industry towards the future. Now if he could only do the same as a senator…

    • MEGAN on December 1, 2007

Wow.. ganda talaga nyan! you can check more about that movie in this website:

    • wasakmen on December 1, 2007

    • tone down on December 2, 2007

    • ryvrdrgn14 on December 2, 2007

I think it looks okay. The robot design is being “humble” since we really aren’t at the top of the technology ladder like the US or Japan. It’s more along the lines of Robot Jox or Battletech/Mechwarrior than Gundam or Macross, but that’s okay.

Baka masyado daw mayabang or gaya-gaya ang labas pag ginawa nila mukhang Gundam yung robot. ^_^

If you watch the latest Gundam series, “Gundam 00″, you’ll see the third world countries have mecha similar to that in the earlier episodes. ^_^

    • ryvrdrgn14 on December 2, 2007

Hmm, the title also means “Recycle?” That’d make more sense with how the robot looks. ^_^

    • Tetsu Yatogi on December 2, 2007

Ok ‘to, ayus. (o_\\)

    • Artemis on December 2, 2007

(wahahahahah!)

      Pinoy Ingenuity! /no!

    • JekyllVSHyde on December 8, 2007

    • hahar on December 9, 2007

mas maganda pa yan sa transmorphers. YUN ANG RIP OFF NG TRANSFORMERS. same date din nilabas.

    • oversoul on December 9, 2007

wa ang babaw ng concept talaga

ung 3d na series pinalabas sa 2 eto><

kahit ako wlang karanasan sa directing and producing

      thnx sa C.I artist ,,boooooooo
sa lahat ng behind the cam!

    • mokies on December 25, 2007

Siguro, next time sana gumamit ang Imus ng HD, OK na sana kaya lang the Graphics was awful, di ko nagustuhan kahit sa trailer pa lang, maybe they should try the HDR Effect and some Higher Diffusion (check nyo yung games na may HDR). They should be patient on making a film, maging mausisa, paghirapan ang ginagawa, kita mo yung mga kano, kahit inaabot ng ilang taon ang ganda ng kinalabasan tyaka sana may aral yung ginagawa nilang istorya, not just another waste fiction.

    • mokies on December 25, 2007

I think that they are competing with the Japs.

    • mokies on December 25, 2007

      Maybe try competing in games!

    • Pulse on December 26, 2007

I must say I was not impressed. Nanood ako dahil kailangan nmin sa report. I cannot bear to finish the whole movie. I guess it’s a start. Para kasing pinilit ihabol s MMFF this year. Sana ninext yr n lng pra mas pinaganda p.

There is effort in making the movie look good. Unfortunately, the movie is a rip off of The Chronicles of Riddick from the plot, to the characters down to the costume.
