Philippine Ragnarok Online Weekly Update (1/9/08)

Welcome to the very first scheduled server maintenance for Philippine Ragnarok Online in 2008! As you all know, we skipped the first maintenance day which was originally slated for January 2, 2008. For today, we will be having updates in the Valkyrie/Valhalla Armory of the Gods and we will also be having a sale on certain items across all servers. I’ve also compiled most of the issues posted in the previous weekly update and I’ll be posting some replies on the topics based on the feedback I got from the Ragnarok team. Please note that like in any other weekly update post here, it’s NOT yet FINAL & OFFICIAL unless it is posted in the Ragnarok Website.

VALKYRIE & VALHALLA UPDATE

ISSUES POSTED @ PREVIOUS WEEKLY UPDATE

SIMBANG GABI PRIZES: According to the GM Team, all prizes were already awarded. If you didn’t get your prize, please feel free to file a ticket and post the ticket number here so I can forward it immediately to the GM Team so they can investigate what happened. To everyone who completed the event - congratulations!

THOR ACOLYTE/SUPER NOVICE SKILL POINTS: The Ragnarok Team has sent another follow-up to Gravity regarding this issue. Please note that this is a developer-related problem and we will continue to do our best in “making kulit” Gravity to resolve it at the soonest possible time.

VALHALLA RACHEL SANCTUARY: According to our testing, the Rachel Sanctuary is half open, half closed. I need this verified by you guys so please post a comment regarding this. Based on the GPS Team’s test, Thor players who were able to access the Sanctuary before can still access it now. New registrants and characters created after the converrsion to Valhalla cannot. If this is the case, we can have this patched hopefully by next week.

COMMERCIAL SERVER DUPE PROBLEM: After investigating the problem for several weeks, the GM Team has concluded that “Duped” items stored in the Mail/Auction System weren’t affected by the original wipe that was done across all servers. To remedy the situation, the GM Team is now cracking down on players who are proven beyond reasonable doubt to have exploited the bug. As of yesterday, several Tyr players were permanently banned due to the proliferation of duplicated items. The GM’s will do this one server at a time until all servers are finally purged. I strongly suggest that if you do high value trades and transactions, you get screenshots. Regarding the possibility of another wipe, standby because that will be a very difficult decision since a lot of innocent players will be affected if we do that again.

VALKYRIE/VALHALLA ANTI-BOT: Good news, Gravity is here in the Philippines. In fact, I have a meeting with them at 10:00 AM TODAY (LOL). Part of the Powerpoint presentation I’m showing is 2-3 slides dedicated to the problems of Valkyrie. This includes connectivity, chat problems, and the persistent bot issue. I’ll give everoyne an update on the results of our meeting later tonight!

  4. For Valhalla, Father Ignacio followed a wierd schedule for the Simbang Gabi Event. Some days, he was on time. Some days, he was 1 day late. He even went on his sermon for 1 straight day heh Even with the time problem, I did get my Angel’s Blessing on Jan 2 or 3… somewhat delayed. I guess he did take a New Year’s vacation heh

    As for the Rachel Sanctuary, Thorians who did the quest before migrating to Valhalla can access the Sanctuary dungeon. New players and Thorians who haven’t done the quest cannot do the quest since the NPC is asking for another 500m donation wah

    Anti-bot system. This I gotta see.

    sir wauks paki sama sa meeting nyu mamaya about dupe items kung pano ma reresolbahan and about sa new character na dadating sana mag labas ng mga bagong sprite ng char so that ma excite kami this coming new patch and sa mga susunod pa na patch this 2008 and last dupe issues parin heheh panira tlga eh from TYR..

  8. good to hear na nandito ang GRAVITY ngaun. BUt, if sir wauks will have a meeting today that means ngayon pa lang mapresent sa kanila ang Valk problems. In other words hindi pa pala ma solve ang connectivity problem ngayong maintenance. Hope i’m wrong.


  9. @whiteman: We’ve presented them the problems via e-mail and video calls before so this isn’t the first time that they’ll hear about this.

    Guys, check out the new RO Database I recently added at http://www.ragnarok-ph.com

    Its not as good as the other database but its a good start for me who is not a programmer.

    Sana rin po e masama sa meeting niyo yung about sa paglabas ng mga recent rpc matches. Last year po kasi meron, sana this year e meron din po. Salamat po.

Waukeen sana mag-wipe kayo kasi na-ban nga yung mga duper, yung items naman nila nagkalat such that halos vendable na ang OH, Maya Purple, Turtle General, Lord of Death at Orc Lord cards sa Tyr. super imbalanced na server namin dahil sa dami ng mga cards na yan. May kilala din akong bumili ng maraming duped cards sa auction kasi na-foresee niya na maba-ban din yun mga dupers… eh di siya naman ngayon nakinabang. Kaya wipe lang po talaga ang final, all-out solution sa problemang duping sa Tyr.

One more thing, a lot of players KNOWINGLY BOUGHT DUPED ITEMS kasi alam nila made-delete din naman yun anyway… kung di kayo nag-wipe eh di unfair naman yun sa mga hindi bumili kasi nagiingat makabili ng dupe. Kaya sana mag-wipe kayo agad para pumantay na uli ang playing field sa Tyr. Thanks.


  20. Hay salamat at 500Php lang ang Baphomet Card. Sir Wauks pakisagot naman po ng tanong ko. Ung Baphomet Card po ba gumagana sa passive skills like double attack (thief) and triple attack (monk)?

    Gud PM Sir, tanong ko lang po kung ano bigay na atttributes ng +7 Black Bunny Band + Flywing Angel? di ba ung BBB Agi+2 Mdef 3 at saka ung FLYING Angel 3% atck speed so bali ano kalalabasan na attributes pag naging +7FLYING ANGEL WIng na sya pede malaman?

    Sir Wauks bakit ang FMB 400 rokpoints pa din at andun parin Pharoah Card at Moonlight Card?

    Dapat binalik na sa 1k Rok ang FMB at wala ng Pharoah at Moonlight Card since wala ng Sale at un sabi sa announcement.

  46. Mr. Wauks, is it possible for a champion to achieve level 99 in a span of 2 months in Valkyrie ? I could think of a few possibilities (1)He hired a pilot for his character that was leveling 24/7, no comment on that. (2)He is using a third party program that kept his character leveling 24/7, if so can you verify these fast leveling players if they were using third party programs ? It’s kind of unfair for the other players during guild sieges and please BAN!! them if you will.

    binabaan na rin ba ang drop rates ng loots sa valhalla? parang sobrang baba na kse. tapos I was levelling sa tams during the mod exp, 1 week ako un at sometime naka BG, pero ni isang bes hindi nag drop ng katana ang Tamruan,samantalang dati kahit walang gum ang dalas mag drop ng katana. Tapos ang wierd pa, meron drop ng jelopy ang Tamruan, waaaah kelan pa naging drop ng Tams ang jelopy?

  51. Waukeen might want to know that iro has already approved name change and character transfer but with certain rules that must be observed. I hope this may also be implemented in pRO even if it may requie players to pay P50-P100 per Character.

    Wauks please commence the dupe wipeout this coming maintenance Jan 18, 2008 (wed) on Valkyrie and Valhalla first before the other servers. This should be done monthly.


  55. sir sana lan po pag isipan nyo maigi or ung ma aassure nyo na ung mismong Duped items lang ang mababawi ninyo.. kasi tulad ko hindi ako bumubili sa auction baka madamay na nman..malaki na nawala ko nakaraan. nagreport ako pero no response.. sana lang wag maulit ung pati inosente madadamay.. un lang po..
