Personal: Congratulations!
I’d like to take this time to congratulate someone very dear to me on her recent success with her career. By the way - she was also a Philippine Ragnarok Online player for a time. Anyway, since as long as I can remember, she has always wanted to be a journalist. Her dream job was to be an anchor or reporter for the leading news channel in the Philippines - ABS CBN’s ANC. She won the coveted Raul Locsin award for Journalism in college and right after graduation at the Ateneo, she was able to land a job under Tony Lopez’s BizNewsAsia Magazine, which was actually one of the most recognized business publications in the country. She received training from Tony Lopez himself as the Senior Editorial Assistant and then she was sent twice to Germany and to New York for training seminars. After a few years, she applied and successfully got into ANC as a writer for the business shows. Last Sunday, she reached another milestone as she finally appeared on-camera as the anchor for the hourly headlines.
My heartfelt congratulations and warmest love goes out to my girlfriend of almost 7 years - Mich. You deserve every one bit of success that you get. Your career and your life is a testament to the saying that hard work does pay and that dreams really can come true. I’ll be posting two-three more updates later tonight. Maybe after dinner.
