MANILA, Philippines — It is official. Level Up! Philippines will launch Perfect World, a Chinese-made massively multiplayer online role playing game, around second or third week of May 2007, just in time for the Philippine mid-term elections.Level Up! Philippines has just purchased 30 new Intel-based Dell servers to house what the local game publisher believes would be the next biggest online game.”Perfect World is a free-to-play, item-based online game that offers a buffet of experiences. It will appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers,” said Jane Walker, chief executive officer of Level Up! Philippines, in an interview with INQUIRER.net.”We’re betting that it will be the biggest game in 2007,” Walker added as she disclosed that the company has just invested about $150,000 to $200,000 for the purchase of the 30 Dell servers.

Perfect World is one of the most anticipated games for the summer. It boasts of excellent graphics and superior gameplay. It has features that cater to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. Most importantly, it follows the popular business free-to-play business model started by Fly for Fun.
As the Ragnarok Brand Manager, I’m a bit worried that this game might eat into the Ragnarok Community. That’s unavoidable because of the caliber of the games that are being brought in to the country. However, I have a strong feeling that the Ragnarok players will stay simply because of the bonds that they have formed for the last 4 years and of course RO still boasts of the most developed game features and content. I’m more excited on the aspect of seeing Perfect World duke it out with our competitors’ offerings. Like what I keep saying, 2007 is a big year for the industry, and what a better way to kick it off with Granado Espada facing off with Perfect World.

Actually I’m like one from the top100 fans of Ragnarok(ok may be top1000 because there are some really crazy ones ^^). But I’d like to fill the time until Ragnarok 2 shows up. So yeah I’d really like to receive a CBT if it’s possible.

I already tried the Chinese version, but I didn’t understand a word. Therefore I’ll just have to wait for the English version. I’m sure it’s worth it; especially because of the massive quest system.
