Manny Pacquiao’s triumph over Ricky Hatton is a resounding reminder to the world the the Filipino is great. This couldn’t come at a better time with all the problems we’ve been encountering with our countrymen who have decided to go abroad to provide a better life for themselves and their families back home. I know Manny has gotten a lot of criticism over the past few months for being “Mayabang”, and in fact I’m guilty of that sometimes, but you’ve got to give it to this guy. Together with other Filipino international sensations (like Arnel, Charice, etc.), Manny is able to give so much pride to our country.
By the way, since we’re on the topic of the recently concluded Pacquiao – Hatton bout, let me share with you a picture that GM Tristan made. I think it sums up what happened to Hatton, hahaha! Nice one, Mon!

Anyway, as I was saying, Manny will continue to be a source of pride for us Filipinos. I hope that his greatness will inspire Filipinos to wake up from their apathy and make them become genuine agents of change here and abroad. There’s so much to fix in this country, and it while it won’t happen overnight, it will never happen at all if we all don’t do our part.

has gotten a lot of criticism over the past few months for being “Mayabang” -??? i doubt about it..baka kau lang dyan sa sossy place of makati sir wauks..i watch the weeknight news regularly.. and all i see news relating to manny was how pump-up he was for the fight, mga ganung chuchu, idedicate parn ang laban pra sa filipino and d likes.. in which part po ba cya naging mayabang lately? d ko po kc randam…relating to d upcoming election? manny is still humble as he was back then AFAIK

Hey there Beso beso, I think sometimes dala rin ng inggit. Di naman natin maiiwasan. Kakatawa naman comment mo, hehe “sossy place of makati” ampf! Hahaha!
Seriously though, I’m a solid Pacquiao fan. I just hope he doesn’t get into politics too soon.

Frankly, Pacquiao’s triumph at the ring hardly represents the greatness of the Filipino. He’s just one guy. It’s ridiculous to say that, just as somebody would say Americans are “warfreaks” since they used to have a president who raged war on the Middle East.
We need to be proud of ourselves and not of someone else’s accomplishment.
Yes, he has become our inspiration but we need to stop tailing from behind but rather start moving ahead. The boxer underwent a lot of hard work and look where it brought him now. Stop, for example, flocking to the Wowwowee studio and crying on camera hoping for that awful host (yes, I’m biased to this guy) to be given instant cash. Pathetic beggars. Again, it’s simply rising up to the challenge and keeping on moving forward.
When all Filipinos do this, then it’s safe to say that one is all and all is one.

anung walang kayabangan? nung una nga nag-iinarte pa yan sa hatian nila ng purse dun sa laban nila ni Hatton.. (although big name fighter nmn talaga sya, but still..)
Un nga lang, once the fight is inked, and training camp starts, wala nang kyeme, focus na sya!
Go Manny!

XD
