Oh-kaaay! Just when I thought I was going with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1, Jerome leaves a comment pointing to Nokia’s latest smart phone unit – the Nokia N97. After going through the specs and seeing the design… it’s official. This is my new dream phone, and I no longer give a damn about the iPhone or the Xperia X1. The Nokia N97 has all the functions that I want for a phone and it looks just as nice (if not better) compared to the Xperia and the iPhone. Specs after the jump.

What was my complaint with all the phones that I’ve reviewed so far? The fact that all the phones being offered by Sony Ericsson and Apple had only 2 – 3.2 MP Cameras. I’m a heavy user of the media functions of phones because of this blog so I really need a 5 MP Camera on my unit. That’s the main reason why I use a Nokia N95 right now. If you check the specs, the Nokia N97 will also have a 5 MP Camera – something that the Xperia X1 doesn’t have. This will also be one of the first Nokia phones to have a Touch Screen interface so I’m kinda curious how this will work out. By the way, the 32GB Memory is a huge,fat, and delicious bonus.
How much? According to various sites, this phone is cheaper than the Xperia. There is no confirmed Philippine price yet (if you know, please leave a comment) but various sources say that this will be sold at around P35,000 – P39,000.

. Too bad hindi nila nilagyan ng multiouch feature ang N97. At first, gusto ko din ng Xperia X1 pero after I seen this thing nagbago din ang isip ko and this is my dream phone too. Pero imposible pa sa ngayun na makabile ako nito since kakastart ko lang magblogging last october and kakaunti pa lang ang adsense tapos 3rd year high school student lang ako malayo pa sa trabaho lol. Anyway good luck sir wauks sana makabile ka nyan.

Nice Phone! The only thing I don’t like about it is the Symbian OS (Sorry Nokia fans). That’s a bias on my side I guess since nasanay na ako sa Windows Mobile. I tried using my brother’s N92… but opted to switch back to my iPaq 910.
Any news on N97’s official release date?

as far as technology goes, every new gadget is tempting, especially this n97…but sooner or later, new gadgets, including phones will be available in the market, mostly jan sa tabi-tabi, you know what i mean…and when these new gadgets flood the philippines, believe me, you’ll all say, “this is my dream phone”, again…(no offense) hahaha!!!but i don’t discourage anyone of you, or in that sense, pare-pareho lng kac tau, basta bago, ang ganda!!! N97!!!!wooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

Oh well .. Personally i like iPhone because of its apps w/c you cant find elsewhere. Yung sa mga hindi pa alam na pwede ka mag download ng applications like: urbanspoon/mix drink/games and a lot more tapos free pa ito. I also like the GPS built in system i had, yes you can actually zoom in really close that you can see the street name but not the people/cars. The only thing i dont like about iPhone is that it cant record a movie/clip -> unmodified phone.

right now i have sony xperia, I really love my xperia.. hehe.. Maganda nga un N97 astig but the problem is mabilis bumaba un price ng mga nokia phones kaysa sa sony ericsson phones. hehe.. after 1 or 2months may N98, N99, or N100 na mas aastig sa N97.. hehe.. But its not my dream phone. I still want to have a Google Phone here in the Philippines! Google Phone is currently available in the US and T-Mobile sells them. Wauks, could you please feature Google phone here in your blog?

If i may leave my point of view, all phones are really great. The thing that other modern “touch screen” phones cannot posses is the fact that an iPhone is still and will always be an iPod and a phone at the same time. Aside from it being an iPod, it also has Millions of applications waiting to be downloaded which can actually help you in your daily lives. It is true though that the iPhone is not yet even close to perfect but imo, all phones has their specialties. Bringing everything to one phone would be pointless. It’s just like squeezing the world inside a tiny box. You can’t have everything. And one more thing! i Receive SMS really fast with my iPhone hahaha!

im sure hindi po eto ang 1st na nokia n touch screen. at tama si lupin tungkol sa 3mp at 5mp. it all depends sa quality nung camera. ung megapixel ay para lang po sa size.
