New Level Up Website (Powered by Wordpress)
Our New Media Department, led by JC Medina, recently launched the new Level Up Games website. It’s not really a complete redesign, in fact we just changed the platform to Wordpress and decided to make sure that we have more contents that you guys can check out regularly. The problem with the old website was that it wasn’t updated regularly with content outside of news. The new direction of the Level Up site is to really make it more community-oriented, with lots of relevant content that you guys can appreciate. Here’s a quick snapshot of the new site.

I’ll make a quick rundown of the new sections of the site after the jump.
Waukster & GM Tristan
I was really surprised when the EIC of the LU Site asked me and GM Tristan to have regular columns on the new website. Right now I’m really thinking on focusing on life inside Level Up as a theme for the column on the LU Site. I have a lot of interviews and contents that I think you guys will like. One of the most succesful sections of this blog is the LU Employee Interview so I’ll probably have more stuff like that on the LU Site starting today.
Community Generated Content
Here’s a new section that I really like - content from YOU guys. We have several writers from the Level Up community who will be giving fresh views on our games. There’s also a website comics which is made by Caroline Dy.
Anyway, I can go on and on about the new site but the best thing for you guys is just head over there and see it for yourself. Spend a few minutes going through all the new sections. Feel free to leave comments here or suggestions on what you think about the new website. I’ll compile all of them and send it to our New Media Department so they can study.
Hope you guys are having a good weekend! Cheers!

honestly… i really hate the previous format ng LUG site before. its like browsing in a cave. it literary focuses more on design than function. buti naman bago na yung format which is mas okay na ngayun. now, i will visit the LUG site more often before kasi ragnarok.ph lang okay na ko eh.
+1 po! :P

i like the new design better. kahit ndi na pinalitan ung major colors. pangit lng tgla ung pagkakaayos ng mga elements ng page kaya hirap tgnan (lalo na ung mga ads na minsan e ndi pa aligned). pero ngayon mas organized na sya.

Mahubay! I went through the site and compared to how it was situated before, it is much more user-friendly. You can navigate a bit easier now w/o wasting time going through the main pages to find deep links to specific articles, reviews, and games that I may find of interest in my spare time. Thank you for the upgrading: It helps a lot of us.
As far as what needs improvement, I don’t see anything off-hand unless you completely overhaul it again by adding more flash to it so that when a site does load up, navigation wouldn’t require additional time in a specific page loading up. Saving time in the long run is essential in anything you do, so that would be my only suggestion. Salamat po!
