Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, recently announced the launch of the new version of the iPhone. It wasn’t loaded with new features except for Microsoft Sync, 3G, Push E-mail, and GPS Maps. Nothing really revolutionary since these are already being offered by different brands already. However… Steve Jobs also announced that the new iPhone will be sold for only $199 USD world wide. That’s roughly less than 10,000 Pesos. OMFGWTFBBQ! Ang mura! @_@

Let’s face it, Apple pulled a fast one here on their competitors. The new 3G iPhone is really affordable and still maintains all the sezziness it brought to the table when it first launched 2-3 years ago. I predict that the new iPhone will take the Philippines by storm and that Globe finally has something going for them to grab a huge share from SMART.

Well… pwede naman ipa-unlock so SMART still has a chance. Hehe.

    • Whistler on June 11, 2008

      10k’ish 8GB
      15k’ish yung 16GB

    • tito towi on June 11, 2008

mag myphone nalang kayo ng china :D

anyway $199 is not that bad. considering na pag pesos yan eh 8.7-8.8k lang sya.

    • Zechs on June 11, 2008

thats 199USD recommended price from apple and its still tax free. mabibigla nalang tayo pag pinagpatong patong ng Tax, VAT and patong from globe. parang EEE pc. the cost of buying one unit from the Philippines is like buying 2 units from Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, US, China or Hongkong

    • JohnnyGL on June 11, 2008

    • credz on June 11, 2008

i think ibebenta sya w/ 2 year contract for $199 usd and mura kasi kung ganun lang yung price nya

    • bogart on July 23, 2008

According to the Globe Telecom press release, the Apple iPhone 3G will be available to all post-paid and pre-paid subscribers. It could be as early as July or maybe as late as September of this year.

At $199, give or take 50% on taxes and tariffs, it will end up somewhere around Php13,500 a pop

    • the bus driver on August 7, 2008

      USD199 + taxes = USD950

    • akoparin on January 13, 2009

BALAK KO BUMILI NG NOKIA 5320, PERO NAGDADALAWANG ISIP AKO, MAS GS2 KO YTA ANG IPOD TOUCH! MAGKANO KEA YUN DINE SA LIPA?

    • annie on June 6, 2009

hmm, since nirelease na siya ng globe here in the philippines, it costs more than 10k, its about 30k up. kung 10k lang sya dapat. ang mahal! unless you’ll avail plans. pero still its mahal!
