Naruto 438

The action picks up once again as Naruto engages Pain while in the Demon Fox Cloak. Having unleashed six tails, Naruto is more terrifying and powerful than ever. Bone fragments of the 9-tails have already started to form around him as if the Demon Fox is being brought back into reality bit by bit. Synopsis and review after the jump.

Seal Broken
Do you guys remember the necklace given by Tsunade to Naruto? It’s actually something from one of the earlier Hokages that can help seal the Demon Fox. In this issue, Naruto, under the influence of the Demon Fox Cloak, breaks the necklace and is on the patch to releasing even more tails. Note that at this point he is already at his sixth!

Pain tries to use his ultimate technique, Shinra Tensei, but it is blocked and even turned against him by Naruto. After seeing Pain dominate everyone in Konoha for the past few issues, it’s good to see him finally reeling! At this point in the manga, you will really have to ask yourself how powerful Naruto is with the Kyuubi inside him. What’s even more terrifying is how powerful the complete 9-tails is if ever he is unleashed.

Kabuto… what?
A rather weird angle is also introduced in this issue. Apparently Yamato and Sai are investigating the whereabouts of Kabuto. This is totally off-tangent and not related to the existing story arc. Well… unless Kabuto can kick Pain’s ass all over the place. Anyway, Yamato falls back to Konoha after he realizes that Naruto has released 6 tails already and is endangering everyone near him. Sakura also realizes this and together with her other friends advises everyone to leave Konoha so that they won’t get hurt since Naruto is on a rampage and can no longer control himself.

The issue ends with Pain about to use a secret technique against Naruto – Chibaku Tensei. We’ll have to wait until this weekend to find out what that’s all about.

I just realized that the lore and plot of Naruto is really rich. You can draw out so many more story arcs. After Pain, we can still expect conflicts with Sasuke, Orochimaru (through Kabuto), and Madara. I also have a feeling that we will see a showdown between a released version of the Kyuubi against Naruto.
