I’ve always wanted to blog about the celebrities and politicians that I come across and meet in my life. Since I’ve been thinking of a new gimmick for this blog, I guess now is the best time to do just that. I’m launching a new section called Celebrity Impressions wherein I just talk about my first impressions about celebrities that I meet. For the first post, I’ll talk about Gaby dela Merced, who I had the pleasure of meeting last October 4, 2008, during the Crazy Cart Drift Invitational.

First Impressions
In all honesty, Gaby dela Merced struck me as an ordinary girl when I first saw her. She was wearing a blue sweater-like top, jeans, and sneakers when she arrived in the event venue for the Crazy Kart Drift Invitational. She’s really not too girly, but not too tomboyish as well. She trikes me as your not-so-girl-but-still-a-girl-next-door type. What I mean is that she’s not too maarte and she’s more down-to-earth than your normal celebrity. She also doesn’t come across as mayabang, which is very nice since her presence doesn’t actually drown you out. She blends naturally into the environment that she’s in.

What’s funny is the first thing she wanted to do when she arrived was to play Crazy Kart. At least I know for sure that we’re getting a good endorser since she herself is an avid fan of the game. It’s not like your other endorsers wherein you just pay for the pretty face and the name but they actually don’t use your product. In other words - hindi pilit. Gaby is a gamer and a racer which really makes her the logical choice as the brand ambassador for Crazy Kart. In fact, there was an article published in this blog about Gaby as a gamer several months ago.
