Around 11:00AM today, our HR Manager went around the office explaining to everyone that we can leave anytime we want due to another political incident in Makati City. Apparently Senator Trillanes and General Lim bolted out of a hearing and decided to hole up in the Manila Peninsula Hotel. With them are former Vice-President Guingona and Bishop Tobias. Right now, the AFP is trying to serve a Warant of Arrest against the Senator but it really looks like he has no intention of backing down. There are also reports that both sides have started using guns against each other which is extremely sad if you ask me. Fellow Philippine soldiers firing against one another is just disgusting.

So… does this have any impact on the online gaming community? Yes. Find out why after the jump.
To make sure that everyone is safe, Level-up! Management decided to call a half-day and sent most of the employees back home. We’re only working on a skeletal crew right now – including the whole Ragnarok Team and IT. We’re stuck here because we’re working on making sure that Valhalla goes up tomorrow as scheduled. Hopefully there won’t be any violence and if ever there will be, I’m hoping that it won’t spiral out of control.
FYI, as soon as this whole political show started, a website appeared which shows that the entire thing was orchestrated by Trillanes and his group. Click here to visit the “Sundalo” website. Yes, it has a lot of pictures of soldiers.
Here’s a quote from the article posted on INQ.NET:
MANILA, Philippines — Operations to flush out the group of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV from the Manila Peninsula hotel in Makati City have begun, Police Director Geary Barias of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said.
“Our military operation has started; it’s ongoing,” Barias told reporters from his position outside the hotel.
He said Marines and Navy troops, as well as police commandos, have entered the hotel from the fountain area at the rear, along Ayala Avenue.
A Marines tank is headed for the fountain area of the hotel from the direction of the Landmark mall.
Three large ambulances and several smaller emergency vehicles have also arrived and are parked at the Philippine Stock Exchange.
Just a few minutes ago, successive bursts of what sounded like gunfire were heard as government forces took up positions outside the hotel in preparation to serve a warrant of arrest on Trillanes and several officers being tried for plotting to toppled the government.
“We are ready to move. We will effect the warrant of arrest,” Barias said as he walked along the stretch of Makati Avenue, clapping his hands and shouting, “Let’s go, let’s go,” to several armored personnel carriers deployed on the intersection with Ayala Avenue.
Asked if they were entering the hotel, Barias replied: “Definitely.”
Guys, let’s all pray for everyone in Makati City. Hopefully no one will get hurt.

It’s so sad that our leaders aren’t in tune with each other and are just trying to abuse democracy. Frankly speaking, for me, I dont really care wats going on now a days with our government or the opposition. Don’t think their move is really benefits the people, think it only benefits them, hanggang election time lng sila. Also, for me the church shouldnt get involve with anything in the government. Bishops, Cardinals and church officials should know that they are speaking in behalf of the church, they say something that is like a good thing for the people because the church say so. Arent they are also human that make mistake and they are just saying that they think is right. For me, let GMA finish her term, 2 yrs nman ang kulang ei, after that we elect a new president.. And I think the outcome of the new president will be the same if GMA will be impeach and if by election, the next president will be battered by critics even if doing the right. Wala na talaga pagaasa bansa natin >.<

I am a member of the Media. The way they have treated my fellow industry colleagues was absolutely unacceptable. Videos were confiscated. Equipments were held. A deep stab to our rights for free press.

Dumugo ilong ko dun sa comment na yun a. Sa susunod naman po please lang… If di ninyo kaya mag english ng matino (I’m not saying your english should be perfect.) wag na sana mag attempt pa.
Hindi kasi nako-convey yung thought e. Simpleng tagalog lang OK na kung di talaga kaya.
@Topic
What’s new? Trillanes is one HUGE joke! He had the guts to go ahead and do another oakwood only to surrender in the end?
His excuse is sooooo pathetic. Hey, if there were civilians/media men there then give way for them to go out and proceed with your business.
I think everything is scripted yet again. Again, in Philippine politics it does not matter what your party affiliation is once you are elected into office. You only have to align yourself with the powers that be.
Opposition or Administration they’re all the same. All they want is to be the next one at the top. The next one to plunder our poor country. -_-

Its kinda stupid that they chose Manila Peninsula. Once again, they chose a PRIVATE establishment to lay siege on. If they have problems with the government, they should take it out on them, not the innocent who’re trying to make an honest living…

Fred-ster on November 29, 2007
kasama daw sa curfew ragna. wag daw maglalalagi sa prontera mamayang madaling araw kundi mahuhuli kayo ng MP (midgard police) haha.

Noong una, Oakwood. Sumunod Manila Peninsula. Ano kaya ang susunod? Hehehe. Ayaw sa CHEAP ni Trillanes. Gusto niya, FIVE-STAR hotel or luxury establishment. No wonder walang taong “masa” ang sumama sa kanya. Pero bottom line, pagod na ang mga tao.

Ever since the 1986 people power, nasanay na ang mga pinoy na magwelga dito, magrally dyan. Walang katapusang coups at mutiny. Haayy…

Unfortunately Trillanes fighting for was not recognizing people at this generation. if they still remember that our greatest hero’s already done this kind of rebellion against Spanish time.
Or just people REALLY CAN’T UNDERSTAND what Trillanes agenda is…

alam nyo ganito lang yan eh.. it such a big stage play para manggulo… either sirain ang manila penn kasi may atraso sila… or a stage play para magkaroon na naman ng curfew para masabi na onti na lang ulet ang street crime para ma good shot ang government… or mag ganyan ganyan at mag curfew hanggang sa forever nang mag curfew to the point na parang time na naman tayo ni marcos…
any way.. all i can say is THIS IS BS! DI MAN LAMANG NILA HINTAYIN NA MATAPOS ANG PASKO BAGO SILA MANGGULO… YAN NAMAN KASI GINAGAWA NG MGA MAY KAPANGYARIHAN AT MAY PERA.. NANGGAGAMIT AT NAGGAABUSO.
