Several reviews of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen are already out. This probably comes from the critics and press pre-screening. What’s very interesting to note is that unlike the first movie, this sequel is getting a lot of lukewarm reviews, especially on Rotten Tomatoes where the movie just scored 60%. I’ve re-posted some of the one-liner reviews for your perusal. Check them out after the break.
Revenge of the Fallen is just like Transformers 1, only longer, and that makes it even more boring.
Fan boys will no doubt love it, but for the uninitiated it’s loud, tedious and, at 147 minutes, way too long.
It is a sprawlingly noisy adventure epic that entertains at times, but never really manages to engage. Still, the kids will love it!
A super-sized second helping, but the novelty factor and some of the charm’s gone. Hey, at least there’s more Megatron / Starscream squabbling this time round.
My advice is to switch off your brainpower, get in touch with your inner juvenile self and go with the flow for this feast for the senses, orchestrated by the undoubted maestro of the genre Michael Bay.
Old folks may find the relentless sensory assault a little draining, but the bangs, ’bots and bombast ensure Fallen has everything Transformers fans will want and expect.
Based on the reviews that I’ve read so far, this movie will most likely be more of a robot royal rumble. It will focus more on the battles and effects as opposed to the first movie wherein they actually spent more time on developing the human characters than the Transformers.
Man, can’t wait to see Devastator kick ass. Hahaha!

It’s to be expected. Rarely does a sequel do better than the original and TransFormers is not immune. Then again these are just reviews and most often it’s better to decide for yourself. This movie is worth the movie ticket, whether it to be marvelously entertained or find out how “lukewarm” it really is. Regardless of any review this is a movie I won’t be turned away from.

i’ve loved optimus prime since i was a kid. for fans of a particular genre; lukewarm, even vitriolic reviews, will not tarnish their idols.

Whew.. i didn’t know VoltesV and transformer are the same? How come the autobots volted in? Please enlighten me….
ross on June 24, 2009
for peachy,
i think you have not/ or is not a transformer fan of the animated version… THERE is REALLY a BIG KIND of a transformer in which 4 to 5 autobots (even for decepticons) to form and “volt in” to a bigger one

This second movie is way better than the 1st one. If you want to be entertained with an action movie this would be one of the best that I’d recommend to anyone so far, alongside “The Dark Knight”. Non-stop action will keep you watching and wanting for more.

who would’ve thought bumblebee had such kung-fu skills.
@peachy: new to the series? the constructicons are afaik, the 1st combiners (gestalt) in transformers, way back in generation 1. devastator is one of the more well known decepticons. the autobots soon copied the technology from the decepticons and both sides created many other combiners thereafter.
a newer concept in recent continuities is the “link up” where 2 bots would sync with each other and link up to gain more/greater power. what jetfire and optimus did in the movie is similar but not quite, as jetfire died 1st and assistance was needed from other autobots to complete the combination.

first of all the movie i think is great, and better than the first.
the 2nd movie showed how autobots really fight, with finesse and accuracy unlike the decepticon’s brute force.
and we all saw the supremacy of optimus prime fighting 4 on 1, (although he got beaten, it just shows that he could take on any decs any day, unlike the first one, hehe)
and i would like to comment on the other comments saying that the movie is boring, and M. Bay didn’t do a good job? if you think your better why not make your own movie and lets see how you did. hahahaha
i guess not coz guess what you didn’t have the guts to do it in the first place.
