LU - Gravity Meeting Minutes

Like what I said in my previous post, the Level-up! Games Management Team had a meeting with two executives from Gravity yesterday - Mr. Changki and Kris Kim. It was a very fruitful meeting as we were able to present to them to problems we’re facing here in the Philippines with regards to Ragnarok Online. The discussion centered around the persistent log-in/disconnection problems and bugs that the Valkyrie Server keeps on encountering. We also discussed the possibility of the Ragnarok World Championships 2008 and the patch schedule for 2008 and 2009. Want to know more? Take the jump.

VALKYRIE DISCONNECTION/LOG-IN PROBLEMS
It’s good that Gravity and Level-up! are on the same page with regards to this particular issue. We’ve already tried so many things in the past few months: changing hardware, using Ragnarok 2 servers, replacing cables, and even reprogramming some of the codes in the actual game. To finally remedy the disconnection problem, Gravity is going to send their core team of programmers to monitor and solve the disconnection/log-in.

VALKYRIE/VALHALLA BOT PROBLEM
The problem with bots is that hackers never take a day off while the Gravity programers do. We’ve already applied more than 10 variations of the anti-bot given by Gravity and all of them got cracked in less than a day. Since all of the countries being serviced by Gravity are complaining about this, they’ve actually built an anti-bot task force (10 programmer specialists) that will work round-the-clock in making life harder for botters. I’m a bit skeptical about this myself but at least they’re doing something right?

2008 PATCH SCHEDULE
We’re assured up to Episode 12.0 (Satan Morroc) for 2008. We’ll probably have 11.3: Nameless around April/May and Episode 12 October/November.

  6. I think.. Its easy to track bots… just put people in each fields.. AI of the bots is not perfect yet.. so its really obvious to determine …

  14. It’s very good to hear they are interested in solving those connection problems. Perhaps it’s a bug that was triggered by Valkyrie but exists worldwide.

    About bots, [GM]Online and [GM]Ban are the best tools, go ask botters. Other tools are fine, but if they just avoid bots to connect they are useless. You have to ban.

    As a side note, I think you’re using too much advertisement. Being straight, those orange words with their pop-ups are the worst thing you’ve done to your blog.


  15. Wala na ba bagong balita sa RO2 hopless case na talaga RO1 puro na bot nababaliw na LUG dun pati ako pinagbinatangan na bot at na ban /sob. Dba sir wauks problem na ni gm tristan yang RO1 sana magbalita ka naman tungkol sa RO2 dahil same old crap na lang lagi RO1.

    valhalla has been transformed to become something almost similar to valkyrie but ironically the former didn’t inherit the latter’s login problems. even in the past few years with servers going above 5000 people logged in at the same time, only Chaos had problems and it wasn’t even about logging in, but crashing. now valkyrie sometimes has an average of 2.5k people during 12-5am and still sometimes i have a hard time logging in, while in valhalla logging in is as easy as the subscription servers anytime of the day. wala na bang pnagkaiba ung server settings (not game features) ng valhalla sa valkyrie?

    Here are some ideas actually they been posted before to fixed the problems ASAP.

    1. Hope there would be monthly dupe wipeout across all the servers specially the f2p servers (Valkyrie and Valhalla).

    2. Here is a good way of eliminating bots in Valkyrie and Valhalla using the answer the question system whenever a certain character levels up to determine if it’s a bot or not (Even OPENKORE team won’t crack this one since the questions are totally random, and it’s not the same as the type the password in the KAFRA storage)

    Example: Two plus 3 equals? , What is a skelworker card there would be some options multipple choice, How many strength is needed to get a bonus in attack?. Those sort of random questions it won’t harm the manual players but only those 3rd party programs. Also the
    AFK in a leveling map with monsters the said system should popped out after 5mins too aside from leveling.

    3. The ecall bug, mp hex, lag program, wiz bot defenders and etc hope those would be fixed sooner (The best server to test that feature should be in Sakray)

    4. Disabling the poison bottle consume feature so there won’t be a Jail Break of caught botters. Disable too the mail system, auction seems the botters and dupers are abusing it too.

    5. Weekly AntiBot update and the MP’s at the work. (Hope they won’t abuse their authority)

Wauks one thing to poing out also… I don’t know if you’re aware of the bug existing when you try to Forge a weapon and you tend to have like 20 Oris in total but you don’t actually have all of them stacked together in one spot inside your inventory, what happens is that if you try to forge a weapon that requires you to use 16 Oridecons in which you obviously have but not in a stack, the weapon that you want to forge isn’t showing on the forging box because it doesn’t detect that you have 16 Oridecons… Do you have any solutions for this?

    Ang nangyayari kasi is kapagpaisa isa ka nagpagawa ng 1 Ori that would require 4 r.Oris hiwahiwalay sya sa slot ng inventory mo, even if you actually purchase the Ori from Hypermart… kawawa kasi kaming mga forger na manual di kami makapagcraft ng dahil sa bug na ito

    As much as a random question could be effective against bots (I doubt it) this kind of harassing should not be done to any player. You’re leveling up, there’s a mob, life or death situation and… surprise pop-up! “Hello, Two plus 3 equals?” That’s definitely bad.

    GMs already do this kind of test. It’s their job. When this kind of suggestion is made it just shows that the GM team is lacking. How many GMs are there in pRO today, by the way?

  26. Halos wala nang bumibili rito ng Level-up card dahil sa log-in problem ng valkyrie. Sino naman kasi ang gustong mag-invest sa isang server na inaabot ng 15-45min para lang makapag-log in??? Imbes na mag-enjoy ako sa paglalaro ay nai-stress lang ako.

Thank GOD they are going to send in core programmers from korea to fix the login of valky…i’ve been trying almost everyday to login but no avail. no bots used there and original client used..grabe hindi ko magamit2 ang fun time q para mag ragna waaaaaaaaaaa X_X ..sana maayos na ng gravity ang valk..(and to the other servers as well wid problems)

    i read in episode 12, there will be 2 new god armors! check it out in ragnawiki.
