In an interview with Reli Carpio in Inquirer.net’s Hackenslash gaming blog, LU Marketing Director Jake San Diego revealed that there will be a major announcement about Level Up LIVE 2008 in the coming days. I already know what the announcement is but I won’t spoil it. This is definitely one of the biggest things to happen not just for Level Up, but for the entire online gaming industry.

Posted under Online, GamesLEVEL UP! has set the date and venue of its annual gamer community gathering, Level Up! Live.
“This year it will be held on October 18 and 19 at the World Trade Center in Pasay,” said Level Up! marketing director Jake San Diego, “We will still hold it at the World Trade Center to make it as comfortable as possible for our players.”
The event will be called Level Up! Live: Rise of the Gaming Gods!
“LU Live is actually a testament to how popular online gaming has become in the country,” San Diego added. “Aside from providing the best content possible, Level Up! also holds community building initiatives in real life via LU Live.”
“It’s where the players of Ragnarok can exchange stories of their experiences with the players of Flyff and now with those who play Perfect World. It is a phenomenon in itself.”
San Diego added that they “are actually asking all of the Level Up! players to stay tuned for an announcement in the next few days, that would raise the bar in online gaming in the country.” This announcement, he said, will be related to LU Live. Relly Carpio, INQUIRER.net
If all goes well, we will be able to announce this within the week. At the latest, it will be early next week. I promise you this guys – you will be affected and you will be shocked. This is definitely going to be BIG NEWS.

location: thumbs down.
very good size in holding LU Live. very spacious. however, when it comes to munching time… walang malapit na mgandang kainan. yes there are food stands just inside the corridors but since they rent/occupy a space there, they pay for it and thus, the prices of food there are not your usual prices.
if you have a vehicle, good you can just go out and in a few blocks, could get into a good fast food at least. but if you had parked there in WTC, i don’t know if they’ll let you in again without paying.

Sir Wauks medyo rare ako mag OT pero I find the new set of items rules aka “di pwede ma kafra ang ibang rare items” a bit dumb. It defeats the purpose of the kafra passworded storage, which aims to be a last line of storage defense.
so ano pa point ng hindi mo pwede i store ang mga pinaka mahal na items sa collection mo. tanggalin na lang natin ang kafra password para mabilis mag store… ng POTS!!

I had hoped that LU Live 2008 would be held at SMX Convention Center but it seems LU has already made up their mind with the World Trade center. Just like Fred-ster said food and parking is a problem it the WTC. Last LU Live 2007 we had to come and go repeatedly from WTC. We came early for the early bird promo but was too late so we went and had breakfast at Jollibee while we wait, then came back right before the gates opened and registered for the cosplay competition, after spending some time inside we realized that its about lunch time and due to lack of sufficient nutrients on-site we went to get some lunch somewhere else only to get busted by a traffic “croc” for counter-flowing because we are so unfamiliar with the area and had to pony-up PHP200 to bribe the “croc,” then finally decided to go to SM MOA for lunch then came back and prepared for the cosplay competition only to discover that we were missing some items and had to leave again for SM MOA to purchase a pair of socks and a wig cap then come back. We had to pay for parking over and over with every return to the WTC. I don’t mind the WTC but I hope that they make it more hospitable food-wise, parking-wise and rest spot-wise for LU Live 2008.

I’m waiting.
Food wasn’t so far away, just head to the LRT Station at Gil Puyat and there’s several fastfood places there. But still, if you’re looking for a quick snack or something to drink things are quite expensive. I do agree with the rest spots, maybe have more seats or a lounge with tons of bean bags (and I am like a orgasm of bean bags in one spot where we can just sit) since last year the floor wasn’t exactly a comfortable place to sit.
And maybe an RO2 launch at LU! Live? I’ve seen the Korean beta and aside from the other races, there’s a hefty amount of content already (hefty enough to be comparable to RO1’s launching).

launching RO2 has been news the past year. overdue na nga eh wakokoko. lagi nadedelay paglabas (tama lang din naman kung marami pang bugs na kelangan ayusin), so i guess pag ni-launch na nga, ndi na sya big news/announcement.
hosting RWC would be the biggest news if ever. it’s bigger than acquiring a new game…
…unless it is really something different and unexpected, something never thought of.
