Level-up! Games & Toni Gonzaga
Level-up! Games recently launched Perfect World, one of the hottest Free-to-play MMORPG titles today. Following the success of Philippine Ragnarok Online’s partnership with Kamikazee and RF Online with Razorback, it was only fitting that we give the same treatment to Perfect World. However, there’s a twist. Instead of getting pop or rock bands, the team decided to get Toni Gonzaga as the singer and endorser for Perfect World! The following video is an interview with Toni Gonzaga made by Joey Alarilla of INQ.

I think it’s safe to say that we might invite Toni Gonzaga to perform as well in the upcoming Level-up LIVE 2007. That’s one more reason to add to your list on WHY you should go to the World Trade Center on November 3-4, 2007! I really hope to see everyone at the event! Cheers guys!

Well, i hope that most of the LUG community has forgotten of her “First Love Rip-off Scandal” or hasn’t caught that info at all.

My life partner plays Perfect World and … err… let’s just say that Toni Gonzaga’s Voice is better heard through the radio on a “once a day basis” at the most.
Can’t the background music be more pleasant? In an i-shop where players log in to PW simultaneously (and dont adjust the sound setting), her song… no, her voice (the song per se is wonderfully moving)… fills your head like a sinusitis.
My point: It’s an absolute waste of resources to pay Toni Gonzaga’s talent fee to promote the PW song.
Why wasn’t there a singing contest to promote the PW song?!? Not a big one, mind you, just a submit-your-vocals thingie that could have showcased non-celebrities’ singing prowess, saving you cash and making the PW promotion fun.
You could have discovered a new and fresher talent to promote it. Preferably someone with a melodious voice, and doesn’t sound like he/she has to shout to reach that high note.
Nagpapalevel ka sa PW or doing quests na mahihirap tapos para kang iniiyakan ng…
“staaaaaayyyy wiiiidddd muuuhhhh, stay wid muuhh… in a purfuct wurrrlllddddd”.
I’m no singer, but I’m a Lea Salonga fan, so I at least know that there are some people in the world who could sing in a way that is pleasantly soothing (malamig ang boses), and makes a gamer look forward to the next loading of the song. But NOT Toni Gonzaga, OMG.
I know PW is free but we still pay for the perks that you sell in the game, so I think we are entitled to a more pleasant musical environment while playing.

A long rant, and a good one, Woobie. I dont’t play PW, but I’m not a fan of Toni’s singing either. She’s pretty, but that’s about it. I don’t think she can sing that well. Her song that’s out now sounds like it’s digitally edited or whatever.
