Hey everyone! While playing Grand Chase at one of the internet cafes in Katipunan, I chanced upon a very angsty kid looking really sad, frustrated, and angry while talking to the security guard. Apparently someone broke the window of his car and stole his bag which contained his cellphone, iPod, and Macbook. After their conversation, I talked to the guard and the Barangay Tanod. Guess how many times this happens in Katipunan?

“Pangatlo na to sa linggo na ‘eto.”

Even if you average it out and have like once or twice a week incidents, that’s still a lot. The kid lost more than P60,000 worth of gadgets, not to mention the spanking he’s going to get from his parents from leaving so much valuables in his car.

So to everyone who drives please make sure to either bring your valuables with you when you get out of your car. If it can’t be avoided, at least hide them from plain sight. Put the gadgets under your chair, inside the compartment, or get out and put it in the trunk. Just make sure it’s hidden.

I feel bad for the kid too, but why leave the gadgets in the car? Aside from making your car very tempting to thieves, it’s not a good idea to leave electronics in vehicles because of the heat.

In the end, there are two possible outcomes: stuff gets stolen, or stuff gets fried.

hopefully other laptops will have the same feature soon

still, im not surprised… electronics indeed are a thief magnet

Back in the US I always put any valuable stuff underneath my seat or in trunk if I feel like doing it. I feel bad for the owner but at least he knows he has to secure his belongings next time. You cannot always blame thieves for giving them a reason to do it.
      “Walang mananakaw kung walang nanakawin.”
Also the if its 3 times in a week already the officials needs to do something, but then again…
