Ifrit, the fire god of Midgard, will make his debut when we finally update the Philippine Ragnarok Online Servers with Episode 11.2: Veins. He’s really a tough MVP to take down, and it took almost all of the warriors of Sakray to defeat him in Prontera. I found a video of an iRO guild hunting Ifrit in his lair, Thor’s Volcano level 3. You’ll never believe this but their main damage dealer was a Taekwon using Solar Heat!

    Andami nila noh? @_@

It’s a good thing Gravity is making MVP’s more powerful. It will force players to be more teamwork oriented as opposed to the usual “solo” or two-party teams that hunt for rare drops. While it might be too late for the previous MVP’s, at least the future new bad asses of Midgard will be much much harder to take down compared to their predecessors. Hunting Ifrit is definitely worth it. Not only is there tons of EXP, there’s also the chance of getting his rare accessories – the rings of the Fire Lord.

For more information on Episode 11.2: Veins, I recommend that you guys watch the official promotional video (Click the link).

Lastly, if you’re wondering why this isn’t in the Lead Article, section, it’s scheduled to be up there around 5-6PM today. I have to give all Lead Articles enough coverage time or else the effort in writing them is kinda pointless, hehe.

Pag naging PK map yang Thor Volcano level 3 sa Valkyrie dahil may MVP (Ifrit), di na yan makikill ng mga players dahil PvP magiging labanan dyan.

    • Queloy on January 21, 2008

Hahahha Ano Pa nga bah..lalo na siguro pag mabilis yung hp regeneration nyan at may MOB pa sya nag heheal sa kanya..ahahaha…pero mas may thrill sya patayin kasi di sya mapupuntahan basta basta lalo na nung mga Boss Hunter Na BOT…hehehe

    • shagojyo on January 21, 2008

      Sry for double posting.

At 00:36 a guy said, “Here he is Oh Shit.”

    • Variance on January 21, 2008

This guy can achieve ASPD of 195 (Yeah, players can only achieve 190 MAX, he can get 195) and a SINGLE party will NEVER defeat this guy. One Earthquake = boom.

    • Wauks on January 21, 2008

@shagojyo: Yeah I noticed that too! Meron did guy at the end saying “Shit I leveled!” :heh:

heat build ba na star glad yung pang bwa nla

    • Whistler on January 21, 2008

hahaha wauks and tagal na ng strategy na yan, kaya ninerf yung heat eh (sa jro ata mas masakit ang heat kasi may shield reflect kasas)

dati very very very fast bago mamatay si ifriti sa heat, after ng nerf very very fast na lang :)

    • tricster on January 21, 2008

Earthquake is not a problem hehehehe basta alam mo panu i counter un… people have already fould two ways to counter the said skill… 1 can be done alone and the other requires linkers… either way indi wipe out oh may 3rd way pala token of sigfried… EQ has a cooldown and cast time… pero kaya pa din ng 1 char EQ the answer is found all over prontera…

    • Wauks on January 21, 2008

Thanks for the input guys. Btw, to everyone in Baldur, there’s an announcement posted on the website. Please monitor it for any changes tonight. Our IT Team already went to our data centers in ePLDT to investigate the problem.

2 Megingards on a TKM = quick work on Ifrit.

    • S P Y on January 21, 2008

      ano yung nerfed???

    • PrimeUser on January 21, 2008

Now that brings backs the Memory of Party/Guild Hunting in the Old Days. *^_^*

wiki entry on nerf (computer gaming) – A nerf is a change to the rules of a computer game that weakens a certain object or ability.

what made heat the achilles heel of mvps is that mvps and boss type monsters is that they dont get knocked back by skills. same principle why undeads die to firewalls in a snap

normal monsters and heat do attack > knockback > attack > knockback until infinity. in boss protocol monsters, with knockback out of the way, heat deals its damage at insane speeds to those not knockedback. (think firewall vs undead again) thankfully heat does not kill players but drains sp instead, or we’d get gazlion guilds with 56 TKM’s in siege.

the nerf in heat was lessened the damage per second or dps of heat itself, not really the exact number but lets say before heat was doing 100 attacks/sec (so if you have 1000 atk thats 100000 damage a sec) after the nerf, heat will only be doing 50 attacks/sec (at 1000 atk thats 50000 damage a sec) again its not the exact figures.

still painful though for boss protocols… :)

    • Whistler on January 21, 2008

and earthquake wont be as painful in the older servers, seeing that almost everyone and their mothers have a GR armor or two… and linkers…

although I want to see how people will handle ifrit in Valkyrie… cguradong backstaban na yan pag may na drop si ifrits ng items :)

    • hinatasou on January 22, 2008

    • Dhan on January 22, 2008

mukng use full d2 ung ice wall haha… nid tlga mrami pra mahati ung dmg nya dba may dmg xa n mas marami players mas mhna ung effect

    • Jun on January 22, 2008

      @Whistler

Before nerf Heat had ASPD of 199 which is 40~50Hits per Sec

After the Nerf it was reduced to 190 which is 10Hits per Sec

    • Crypt on January 22, 2008

Whoa… It means we are gonna need live voice chat when MVP hunting to have better coordination!!! O_o More load on my slow DSL T_T

    • Whistler on January 22, 2008

@Dhan, earthquake damage does not distribute to ice wall, but its still a mystery to me if earthquake gets distributed to homunculi

@Jun, ayun actual figues (pero still mabilis parin 190 ah)

naisip ko tuloy sa earthquke, dapat may 50 novices na kasama pag nag mmvp… sila cannon fodder sa earthquake lol…

    • roiji on January 23, 2008

sana ganyan din tayo.. tulungan.. at NAKA SKYPE!!! / YM conference…

di naman kasi tayo kasing rich nila na mabibilis ang COMPUTER at CONNECTION… imbis na “i need sp” or “ress… ress me” ang maririnig/mababasa LAAAAAGGGG LLAAGG!

sa atin siguro ang strategy EDP all the way.. :heh:

    • Dr. Cipada on January 23, 2008
