iRO Launches Mini-Stat Reset Service

A player sent me an e-mail yesterday about a new value added service that International Ragnarok Online launched recently. I wanted to get your comments on this if we should also do it here for the Philippines. Feel free to also discuss this in the Ragnaboards. The new service is basically a 20-point stat reset that a character can do once every 3 months. This allows players to correct their builds especially if they made minor errors here and there.

Here are the complete mechanics as posted on their website:

iRO Character Stat Reallocation

Due to the many requests from our users, we have implemented a character stat reallocation service and have enacted a new policy to meet these requests. In order to maintain the game balance of in each server and prevent fraudulent activity, this service is subject to the terms of agreement and some restrictions as summarized below.

• This service must be paid for in advance via credit card or Paypal only
• The service will be conducted during the following times:
Monday ~ Thursday 9am until 5pm Pacific
• Characters must not have any items equipped, in their inventory, or in the cart.
• Character reallocation stats form must be fully completed before service
is fulfilled.
• Service requests are subject to review by the GM Team and can be
rejected based on violation of any guidelines set forth herein.
• No refunds will be permitted once your request is approved and processed.

We have reserved the right to end or modify this service at any time without prior notification.
All terms and conditions of the Gravity Interactive’s Terms of agreement and the Privacy policy found on iro.ragnarokonline.com apply to any value added service request. Looking back, I would have probably availed of this if this was offered during the early days of Ragnarok. I distinctly remember putting more than 15 luck on my blacksmith because I thought it would help me get better drops (LOL).

The main difference here will be that we won’t be using credit cards but our usual top-up prepaid cards. Again, let me clarify that this is not an announcement that we will do this service. I’m just sharing this with you guys for healthy discussion.

  7. sana po ma-implement po yan sa pRO. kc po yung SL ko… agi build cia until umilaw. e ngayon, 99 na cia, agi pa rin. ginagamit ko cia for siege pero malambot kc nga AGI. e walang rebirth ang SL tulad ng ibang class… so ayun… stock cia sa pagiging AGI build. imagine, lvl 99 ang buhay wala pang 5k awts… vit=1 kc hehe…

    so sana po ma-implement cia… para at least, maitama ang errors of the past…

    iv checked rododdler.. if ur a base lvl 10 & job lvl 10, novice.. then starting stats u have three 9’s(ex. 9str,9agi,9dex)… u have only 32-point stats available..WTF!@#$%^&*

  11. Part of the reason why botting is so rampant is the need for players to create another build without going through the grind yet again. Having a stat reset service would certainly reduce instances of botting as well as give a new reason to play for those who have quit because their INT-VIT HIgh Priest is so boring and they neither have the inclination or time to rebuild it into a Magnus Exorcimus Demon Killer. “TO have perfect stats” also is the reason why everyone has a WOE stat build nowadays and only a few even bother to experiment with “fun” builds like a combo champ, or an ME High Priest, or an Agi LK.

    So I’m all for it. The naysayers will always say it’s gamebreaking and imbalanced, but if iRO the self-proclaimed “shining bastion of RO ethics” can offer it, why can’t other servers? besides it’s a PAID service, not FREE. I believe in having choices when you can afford to have a choice, just because you take a non-aircon bus to Makati doesn’t mean I can’t take a taxi even if I can afford it because it’s “not fair” to you. Success in the game does not entirely rely on stats, but diskarte and personal luck does play a larger role. If you simply suck at PVP no “perfect build” can save you from your mediocrity.


  12. Sang ayon ako dito kasi I had my Champ agi-dex ang stat which my mistake kya nga I had to stopped playing na lang kc nkka pang hinayang ung build ko. Lvl 93 pa nmn sya. Before I was thinking that this day will come and I can reallocate my Champ’s stat then and now merun na (hopefully) ma i-implement ito sa pRO. Kc ndi lng nmn aq ang babalik maglaro pati na rin ung mga ibang players. Sna po ay ma implement ito dito. RoK On!


  13. stat reallocation is good for those people who want to tweak or fine tune their chars with all them new gears getting released, like removing 2 dex and allocating points to somewhere else like say when the Orleans Gloves[1] come around - a dex freak sage or archer class can use those other points for the other stats while still maintaining, lets say 150 dex…


  14. another good application is for people who have 101+ total vit - like i said in the previous post, new gears that provided bonuses to vit might have rendered the previous one off balanced, like for some builds that just go for stun/silence/poison/stat immunity… that and you’re just acid bomb bait :)

    iRO also has a 1/1 free reset service for trans classes where they bring your character back to a level 1 High Novice.

    Ang hinihintay ko tlga ay yung kung saan pwede na maglipat ng character sa kahit anong server, pwera lang sa mga F2P servers. gawi

  25. Hindi ko talaga alam kung may pakielam ba kayo sa valkyrie o wala eh. Kasi ilang beses na kaming nags-siege na nagc-crash ung maps. Oo, alam ko hindi mo to approve tong comment na to pero alam kong mababasa mo to. Mag post naman kayo ng announcements tungkol sa valkyrie, mga walang pakielam eh.

    Ang hirap mag login, ang hirap mag siege dahil lagi crash ung maps, delay na uli ung guild, party, chats. Not to mention may mga bots pa. Mga ignorante kayo. Ni magpost sa blog mo na “Yes we know the issue with valkyrie, and we’ll try to contact Gravity ek ek ek” wala rin. Anu ba naman to, ignorante talaga. Uu na, wag mo na approve tong comment ko kasi natatakot kang mabasa to ng ibang tao. Alam mo kasi na totoo naman talaga tong sinasabi ko. IGNORANTE! PALITAN NIYO NA MGA EMPLOYEE NIYO SA LU! Panay papera lang iniisip. Hindi ba pwedeng 50% papera 50% service? Pansin ko 99% pera kayo eh.

    Tingnan mo, bagong post nanaman para sa Stat Reset. Stat Reset = pera nanaman. Unahin niyo muna ung major problems bago kayo magdadag ng kung anu anu please lang.

    ung nsa iRO, 20 stat points lang and once every 3 months per character. repeatable sya pero 3 months is a long time for a pRO player. hehe. what pRO needs is a full stat reset service. mahalan na lang kung kailangan pero wag naman mshadong mahal. dpat repeatable din.

    about sa server transfer, may good way para ndi maabuso yan. and the good thing is, involved pa both p2p and f2p servers. na-post ko na ata sa isa sa mga RO posts dito.

UU nga.. kc halimbawa ako. sabog sabog knight ko kc frst character ko un. and until now buhay pa cya. mas maganda sana kung ma rereset ko cya para mas maging wafu. nd tama nga din ung iba kikita din naman kau db. and besides there is a chance na bumalik ang ibang players. kung halimbawa nag quit dahil sabog stat nila e di babalik. sana naman po di mxdo mahal 100-200 lang po sana. and full reset po sana. kung kay pink soda ay server transfer.. ang nasa isip ko inter server pvp room. para makalaban naman ng ibang players ang ibang kaibigan na nasa ibang serve.   33. magandang idea yan sir wauks lalo na sa free to play servers na karamihan ay manual players. there are really some characters that are difficult to level in F2P servers. i think this service is indeed very useful and consumer friendly as long as hindi ito ma-bug or ma-abuse in any way.

    abuse masyado ang stat reset kung 500php below lng to… pero sna magkaroon ng full stat reset.

    wag nyo n offer ung lilipat ng server, dhl nararamdaman ko after RPC my mag memerge nnmng server, lugi lng cla. dami mwawala after dis RPC 4 sure, just like last year.

    Name Change tlga dpt implement.. tpos free name change muna s mga my _LO00 ETC.. d rest n wlang server prefix my bayad.

    Sige, naging pre forger/brewer ka nga, ang tanong, ikaw lang ba ang brewer sa merkado?Sa tingin mo ba at this point in the game’s life malakas pa rin ang kita nila as pure forger/brewer? Wala na kuwenta maging forger ngayon, may converters na just in case you’ve been living under a rock, and those who need elemental weapons have all that they need. Sa brewer naman lahat ng guilds may dedicated brewer na sila, and it really doesn’t take a lot to bring a brewer alche to 99/50 second job, and selling fire bote and slims isn’t exactly the fastest way to making billions, it’s buy and sell and market speculation.

  55. I would rather pay to have my character’s stats reset for a price than spend 3 to 6 months making a new character from scratch. Even if the cost of the reset will be twice or even three times as much as game time to make a new character I would still pay for it. I would rather spend money than waste time.

    The reason why they made the skill reset is to give existing characters the chance to use the new skills that came out, but I think the same should be done for stats to give existing characters the chance to optimize the use of new items and equipments.


  56. Sadly, gamers would condemn any service thats beyond their monetary reach.

    So surely a full stat reset would initiate an upheaval of the sour-graping masses of ragnarok.

    So i guess the cost-benefit should be beyond money. the main consideration should be time. so lets say you want to full stat-reset. it should be doable proportioned to at least 6 months. why? how long it takes to “breed” a character 0-99 transcendent?

    the goods: if people will just spend P500 a month for a stat reset then they wont keep making characters. this lessens the creation of multiple accounts and server stress in some degree.

  64. Once or Twice per account is enough to prevent abuses. I think 200-300 pesos is fairly enough. Not all players are rich. Maybe we can also have two payment schemes, we can have zeny and Philippine Peso.

    Zeny: 1m for 20 Point Stat reset.

    New promo 50%more EXP=Kulang padin, ami reklamo. Poison Bottles/AB bottles=Mahal. Buti nga nilagyan pa.
    Kung meron kunting Mod EXP kulang parin. Lahat nalang ilabas meron reklamo. Kaya nga proud kayo na pinoy kasi halos lahat ganito ugali.

  69. Based on actual experiences of iRO players who paid for the service, tis 20 base stat points.. e.g. 90str downgraded to 70 and the raw allocation points re-gained from it can now be utilized to enhance other base stats.

    *as posted by Jayed - “I like to refer to the Statistics (STR, DEX, etc) as stat points and the points used to buy those stats as “allocation points” since they’re the points you allocate to your stats.

    i.e. 11 Allocation points can move you from 90 stat points in STR to 91 stat points in STR.

    This service subtracts stat points, restoring however many allocation points were used to purchase them.”

  70. i’ve been playing prO for quite some time. iv’e been on and off the game as well for some reasons.
    well , the game ragnarok is a complex and changing one. with the updates on items, patches skills etc, one must adapt to such changes, unluckily however, our stats could not (coz they’re freakin permanent !!) ..
    any little mistake in placing stats and skills could cause catastrophic effects (especially for the OC people lol who can’t stand looking at an imperfect build ), any new item release can also alter our stats (like aspd, damage, matk, def etc) .
    its a good thing there came the “neuralizer” hypermart item that replaced the zenny/job skill reset.. ^^ that way, players who are not that blessed with a lot of zenny could still avail of the skill reset.

    well with the stat reset, i do believe it’s a very good addtition to the services hypermart offers. why not try having an item similar to the neuralizer that you could sell in the hypermart?
    i strongly believe that not only will it benefit us players but it would be very marketable as well.. and also, if you are trying to maintain the balance of the game, why not make the item/service available at promotional basis or let’s say at a scheduled time just like what irO had suggested..
    hope this advocacy of mine gets heard .. ^_~

    naicp ko lng, kng 20stat points=500, wag n lagyan ng palugit n 3months. kng gus2 nla ng fully reset stat, masmalaki kita ng LU. lamang p ung kita nla s normal months ng pagpapalevel isang bagsakan. pag nag kamali bili ulit..

    wla lng.. share ko lng..

    pero sana gayahin ung mechanics sa iRO, na once per 3 months lang.

    it removes challenges (especially in leveling) for certain builds (some strong pvp/woe builds have a hard time in pvm)

    i dont agree sa 20 stat lang noh, kasi kung magiging 500 pesos ang price ng reset na yan ay mas gugustuhin ko pang mag pa lvl or in short ay mag BOT 24/7 ng 2 months by loading 500 pesos for play time kasi by botting pwede ka na rin magka 99 na transcendant kung sakaling magka exp mods

    20 stat points per 3 months? i think hindi papatok yan, mas ok pa kung full stat reset per 3 or 6 months, remind ko lang na maikli lang ang buhay ng tao 6 months o half year ay napakatagal na noh
