    Gundam 00 Raiser

Aptly titled “For the Future”, Gundam 00 Episode 22 paves the way for a climactic battle that will definitely determine who will control the fate of humanity. On one side, we have Celestial Being, Kataron, and the Federation Army. On the opposite corner, we have A-LAWS and the INNOVATORS. Review and synopsis of the episode after the jump.

    Episode Synopsis and Review
Celestial Being finds out the location of Vader and they immediately set out to go there to finally end the threat of the INNOVATORS. However, they are intercepted by a huge fleet from A-LAWS. At first, Celestial Being had the upper hand with Gundam 00 Raiser leading the assault. Dozens of A-LAWS Mobile suits fall against the onslaught of the 4 Gundams. Note that they had major upgrades recently done for their Gundams which was evident with Lockon’s dual sniper guns (one is attached on his shoulder).

However, things turn sour for Celestial Being. The initial assault of A-LAWS was a trap, and a cloud of anti particles covers the entire area, rendering majority of the Gundams’ weapons useless. At this point, the entire A-LAWS fleet launches a massive assault, using missiles and old school weapons. Celestial Being is overpowered and several A-LAWS mobile suits even reach Ptolemy.

A-LAWS Mobile Suit about the blast Ptolemy to kingdom come

Fortunately for Celestial Being, they have allies. Kataron makes an appearance and takes out the A-LAWS suits threatening Ptolemy. Since there’s a cloud that dilutes the particles, Kataron’s old robots and weaponry actually can make a difference! The reinforcements bolsters the morale of Celestial Being and they regroup and begin to tear down the A-LAWS forces engaging them in the cloud.

The commander of the A-LAWS fleet orders the entire force to move in for the kill but he’s suddenly attacked from behind as former A-LAWS commander Kujo shows up with a fleet of Federation ships and suits. With no where left to run, the annoying blond A-LAWS commander finally dies at the hand of Gundam 00 Raiser!

    DIE DIE DIE!!!

The episode ends here and the post credits teaser shows that Episode 23 will finally be the major battle as the mother ship of the INNOVATORS will be revealed.

On a side note, let me just say that the musical scoring for this particular episode was superb. I loved it how they used different themes to hype up the emotion of the moment. One of the more notable ones was the Japanese song they used when the Gundams were launching from Ptolemy.

    Can’t wait for Episode 23! :no1:

PS: I wish the Gundam statue in Japan that they built was the Gundam 00 Exia model instead of the generic robot.

      may episode 23 na ah???

The name of the former A-LAWS commander is Kati Manequin. Lisa Kujo is Sumeragi Lee Noriega’s real name.

What really got me curious is what Graham Aker is going to do next. After the 00-Raiser disables the Susanoo, he’s just left floating in space contemplating if he’s going to perform Seppuku. Will he reappear and join up with Celestial Being? Will he appear at all? Graham Aker turned Mr. Bushido is the “guy with the mask” in Gundam 00. Based on previous Gundam series the guy in the mask is either totally evil or evil and will turn good later. My vote is for the later since there’s already a total evil in the show.

One another note, they showed the 0-Gundam again. This time it’s sporting a new paint job, it’s colored like the RX-78-2 Gundam from the original Mobile Suite Gundam series. The RX-78-2 Gundam is the original Gundam ever while the 0-Gundam is the original Gundam in Gundam 00 storyline. It’s like a shout-out in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Gundam.

Generic? C’mon, its the legendary RX-78 which was piloted by the legendary Amuro Ray.

      Newtypes > Innovators > Humans

Newtypes cannot be compared to innovators or coordinators because they come from different time and place.. who knows maybe GN particles can disable newtype powers.. who knows maybe seed mode can negate all newtype powers etc etc

RX-78-2 is the icon of the Gundam franchise, so having a life-size statue of it is great.

Seriously, in terms of piloting skills alone, the Newtypes have shown the most impressive stuff in the franchise. You won’t see Alternate Universe pilots obliterating fleets of ship using ‘generic’ suits.
