Grand Chase New Character - Ronan!
Grand Chase will be launching it’s commercial service on November 18, 2008! What does this mean? Well basically it just means that we will be opening the in-game item shop to everyone. You will be able to buy item sets, weapons, and various consumables. We will also be introducing a new character into the game - Ronan! It’s the first male character of Grand Chase Philippines so I’m pretty sure a lot of people will be clamoring to get him in their stable. Other than that, note that we will also be adding new maps and increasing the level cap to 40. Anyway, I re-posted the Grand Chase FAQ after the jump. Check it out!
Grand Chase Commercial Service FAQs
Q: What’s the difference between OBT and Commercial Service?
A: OBT or Open Beta Testing is a stage where all players can try out the game and help the Grand Chase team find and fix bugs and errors. Commercial Service is the stage where Grand Chase is officially launched. This is also the phase wherein the Item Mall and latest content is released.Q: What do we do if we encounter these bugs and errors?

A: You can simply register at the myLU QuickReg site, or if you already have a myLU account, simply create a game account at your myLU account.Q: Hindi po ako CBT or OBT player and I have never tried the game. Where can I get an installer?
A: You can go to your favourite internet café and request for a Grand Chase installer, you can also download Grand Chase at the Grand Chase website.Q: I’m an OBT player, do I need to uninstall my current GC Client and get a new installer?

Hi,
Is there any other source for the client besides the levelup FTP site? I wish there are other sources such as mmosite.com. We are having difficulty accessing the FTP site. *sigh

the reason kaya di ko lalaruin itong GC ay dahil side scrolling. At keyboard base ang galaw. I find such features a turn off.

The thing about introducing a new character in an already established game is, it throws the game out of balance for a little while.
This happened over-and-over with RO. After Juno when the 2-2 jobs were added, after Transcendence was introduced, and it also happened when the alternate classes came.
First you’ll have a large bunch of the population playing the new character to death, then second, those who master the new character early will start popping-up dominating PVP and causing confusion to those who haven’t seen the new character in action yet, then third, players will eventually get used to battling this new character so it no longer posses too much of an advantage, then after that everything will be balanced again. That is until the next new character comes along.
By the way, this phenomenon isn’t exclusive to characters. It can happen with anything new added to the game; maps, items, tweaks, nerfs, etc.

I use a 100PHP gamepad from CD-R King when I play GC. You can use the gamepad to control your character and the only time you’ll use the keyboard is when you use items or chat. If you want to completely go gamepad you can download and run Joy2Key and setup your extra gamepad buttons so you can use items using the gamepad instead of the keyboard.
I love the game so much I’m thinking of buying a Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad so I can get more precise movements out of my characters and improve my game. As for the side-scrolling thing, we can’t do anything about that.
