Are you sure about this? No shop worldwide will let you walk out with an iPhone in your hand without subscribing to a plan. No shop is going to supplement the full cost of the iPhone if they just gave them out without a plan. Apple charge so much for the iPhone and the service provider makes a profit from them as long as they tie a customer into a plan.
