GAME: What inspired you to apply at a gaming company?
Wauks: Hahaha, now this is a good question. I was actually inclined to follow in the footsteps of my late Grandfather, Senator Blas F. Ople. I was being groomed to become a politican. However, as much as I wanted to, there was no passion in me to go on and pursue a career in politics. At that time, one of my interviews as a community figure in Ragnarok aired in MTV. The president of netGames at that time, Axel Kornerup, was able to watch the video. He was actually a close friend of mine because we used to frequent his internet café in Katipunan (Netopia). He called me and asked me if I wanted to join the netGames team. I immediately said yes. I’m a passion driven person, and if my heart is not in it, then I don’t think I’ll be able to do a good job. Gaming is one of things close to me, so I decided to jump in and just do my best.
This post is uber delayed. I think the interviewed was posted a week ago. Anyway, many thanks to Kiven and Arjay for inviting me for an interview at the GAME! Website. The questions were hard to answer but fun nonetheless. It was a great chance for me to sit back and talk about my journey from being a gamer to where I am now. Check it out if you have time.
