I just got back from Boracay and I’ll be talking about everything that happened there in a special 3-Part post starting Monday. Expect to see scandalous pictures of your favorite Level-up Managers and Game Moderators (LOL). Anyway, I have a lot of catching up to do since I wasn’t able to post for 3 days. So much has happened and even though I was at Boracay, my phone was ringing NON-STOP. I got calls from my bosses, Gravity, and co-workers. The hot topics were the Server Merge, Philippine Ragnarok Online 2, and the Ragnarok World Championships 2007. Tomorrow, I’ll be discussing the Server Merge in detail. I need to to confirm a few more details with Gravity because there were changes yet again in the mechanics. I’m very frustrated already with this and I’ve actually escalated the problem already to our Chief Operating Office, Sheila Paul and my boss, Mon Macutay. Even Ben Colayco got wind of the problems with the merge and I hear he’s been talking to Gravity as well. Anyway, that’s for tomorrow. For now I’d like to focus on one topic – the Ragnarok World Championships 2007. Read on to get a better perspective.
I’m sure all of you are asking – when will the RWC 2007 happen? Well sadly we can’t really control the date because Gravity is the one who’s organizing the event. At least 10 countries have already confirmed their participation and most of them are already starting their national elimination tournaments. The problem with the schedule is that RWC 2007 will happen before Level-up LIVE which is the grand stage for the RPC 2007 finals. I can’t give the exact date yet but RWC 2007 will definitely happen sometime mid Q3.
What does that mean? It means that RWC is not the last battle. RPC at Level-up LIVE will be the final stage – the main event if you will. We will probably just get the top scorers from Agit Lords, Wild Cards, and maybe the Sakray Server Champion when the time comes that RWC calls for the Philippine contingent. The top scorers at that time will probably battle it out in the official RWC 2007 PVP format. Buzz is going around that Gravity is going to implement a 7-man team roster instead of the usual 9 or 10. The RWC representative will most likely get a ticket to the final 8 of the RPC 2007 tournament.
So how will we kick-off RWC/RPC 2007? I’m currently working with our Marketing Services department to have one massive event which has Wrestlemania as its peg sometime this May, probably the last week or so. It will be like one huge Ragna Rally event, but it will have a main event – grudge matches between former RPC champions! We will also have a Sumo Poring tournament (LOL). More details on that event when we finalize it.
Anyway, that’s it for now. For the coming days I’ll be focusing more on the Server Merge and my Boracay Trip. I’ve already compiled most of your questions and I’ll try to answer all of them tomorrow after I finish a long meeting with Gravity and our IT Team.

good that yer back! it’s nice to know that pRO is still being prioritized seeing that even the big bosses are already helping out. Like i said in another post, Gravity earns from you (and i bet a lot) and that should at least be a leverage.

May regionals pero that’s for RPC. Ulitin ko – RWC is in the middle of the RPC 2007 campaign. The RPC champion is NOT the RWC representative. We will have a tournament in the middle of RPC to determine who will go to RWC.

Convincing Gravity to host RWC 2007 was a challenge in itself. I can’t guarantee an RWC 2008. :heh: It’s better to give everyone a chance (now) to be the Philippine representative instead of sending last year’s winner.

I think the siege schedules would remain the same, unless someone makes a major initiative to change the existing one. So far naman kasi no complaints with the current set-up.

I’m sure the other managers from other RO countries and even some Gravity people also made their pitches to have RWC 2007. I’m just one of the few people who pushed hard for this. I’m just elated that Gravity approved the damn thing. :heh:
