I’ve decided to write some insights on the RPC landscape since the Server Merge. I used to be the WoE Commentator in my old server before so I actually enjoy reporting, hehe. Since the Server Merge was announced, the balance of power in the various servers already shifted and changed. Guilds were starting to unite and build up factions. Each server now has a different story, and I was fortunate enough to talk to guild leaders from each of the newly merged servers to get their side of the story. Take note that this is my interpretation of what’s happening, and if you know more, leave a comment and share your thoughts with everyone else. First, let’s talk about Freya.
FREYA
Iris, Sarah, and Lydia
Lydia’s resident champions – Hatred, have been on a warpath in Sakray. Together with Oblivion, they formed Method and defeated Midgard Rebellion for the Sakray Server crown. Now that the Sakray dispute has been settled, they’ve set their sights on Freya. However, it won’t be that easy because of the various powerhouse guilds in Iris and Sarah. Who can forget Ninja and Team Punishment? I think Freya will be a royal rumble of sorts, with guilds from all three servers clashing again and again each siege.
BALDUR
Chaos and Loki
The battle in Baldur is definitely a head-on clash between two major factions. Organized by their charismatic leader, makmak641, the guilds in the oldest server of pRO formed the United Chaos alliance. Former opponents now fight side by side, and it’s interesting to see how long this will last. There are already rumors going around that some well known guilds will not support the UC alliance. In Loki, the guilds also banded together in one huge alliance to take on Chaos. What’s interesting is that some guilds from Loki have defected to the Chaos fence, openly aligning themselves with makmak641. We can definitely expect action packed sieges in Baldur every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday!
TYR
Odin and Fenrir
Though not as pronounced as Baldur’s alliances, Odin and Fenrir are also facing off in one big fight. The twist here is that there are a lot of guilds in both servers that know each other, so there is a chance that the scenario might be more of a royal rumble type. I’d like to hear more from Tyr players since I really don’t have enough material to work with on this one. Just leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail so I can just update this one.
For Thor and Urdr, I’ll be talking to guild leaders from them to get their sides as well. That will be the content for my 2nd post regarding the RPC 2007 Landscape. More updates for everyone later. I’m trying to get Gravity to give me a final date when the neuralizer will be finally fixed.
FYI: The additional 4 character slots will be implemented next maintenance – Thursday, June 7, 2007. You can see the official announcement by clicking here.

:ho: Yup, pROBaldur is shaping up to be quite an interesting match, since there have been notable fence-jumpers (Armada BBF being the most well-known case here). We miss you here Wauks. :no1:

Affected din Thor sa last 10 minutes ng siege. Dami na DC, lag, and slow loading or reconnecting.

@desquallie – ic. sana nga talgang unstable lang ang servers ngayon. pero IMHO, dapat yata narorollback ung siege results tuwing may nangyayaring ganyan during crucial moments that can influence the outcome of the siege? kasi hindi naman ata dapat magkaroon ng event na purely luck kung madc kayo o hindi ang magdedecide ng outcome ng pagkapanalo hindi ba?
or better yet, hindi ba dapat ipostpone nlng ulit ang AL scoring until a time na LUG can guarantee a bug-free siege? para nalang makaiwas sa mga issue at bintangan na ganito.

If we make LU postpone this, then we’re out of the RWC 2007. Since we’re postponed and other countries are continuing their versions of RPC 2007, we will loose time for preparation and thus somewhat forfeiting our bid for RWC.
We can’t have a bug-free siege. Just be realistic. It’s not a perfect game nor is this just a game. This is where the tough gets tougher and even worse, since the rainy season in the Philippines has started. Hope no storms hit Philippines during important parts of the RPC, don’t want people have no electricity and phonelines during this special event. Just pray for the best, but hopefully LU will find a way to stop “cheaters” get what they want.
