Gaming: Ragnarok Wipe Compensation (6/22/07)
So much has been happening in Ragnarok Online that it’s driving everyone crazy. I’m not just talking about the community, but also everyone here at Level-up. I can’t really say that we’re past the problem yet, but at least we’re taking the steps to resolve the issue. Let me clarify the compensation for the innocent players affected by the wipe. You won’t get the dupe item back, that’s 100%. What you will get is the item(s) you traded for the dupe, or the zenny you used to purchase the said item. I can’t exactly guarantee everyone that you’ll get everything back, but hopefully you’ll get something that will help you recover your equipment. The time frame for the restoration is a bit long, mainly because of the volume of tickets that we’re getting everyday. We will try our best though to resolve all the tickets faster as we are currently focusing all of our available resources in order to fix this problem at the soonest possible time. After the successful implementation of the dupe item wipe, we’ve been receiving a lot of tickets asking for compensation. We would just like to clarify that we will be helping everyone and we will be entertaining all of your concerns. Due to the surge of tickets, we will be working on the cases by batches. If you lost an item which you got anytime from April 19, 2007 to June 19, 2007, your ticket will be resolved with a minimum of 4 weeks depending on the amount of cases that we receive. Players with items lost prior to that date will be processed afterwards but it will take another 3-4 weeks after the first batch. Take note that we won’t be able to return the items that was wiped because those were duplicated items. We will only return the zenny or some of the items you traded for the wiped duped equipment.
In the course of our investigation of your concerns, we will look into your trade, inventory, and kafra logs. If we find enough evidence that shows you exploited the bug yourselves, then please be warned that we will not hesitate to sanction your account with a permanent ban.
The number of tickets we received confirms our suspicion that a lot of innocent players were affected by the wipe. However, we stand by our decision that it was the right thing to do in order to preserve the integrity and balance of Philippine Ragnarok Online. We will try our very best to help all the innocent players who were affected by this wipe and speed up the process of restoration. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your support and understanding.

To the dupers who would want to abuse this by filing tickets, please take note of the second paragraph of the announcement. Everyone who files a ticket will be investigated from head to toe, kinda like a cavity search. If in the process we find dubious amounts of dupe items or if your trade logs reflect your character even doing the exploit, then we will not hesitate to permanently ban your account(s). Regarding the time frame - it’s long because we want to manage everyone’s expectations. If the tickets stop coming in, then we can actually resolve your cases sooner (less than 4 weeks). But if the tickets keep on coming, then it will be hard to resolve all the cases even with a minimum of 4 weeks as we’ve stated in the announcement
Lastly, guys please take note that the GM Team is still cracking down on the dupers. I have it in good faith that not all of the cards have been wiped yet so it may take some more time. I strongly suggest that everyone refrain from doing high value transactions for now. If ever you do want to risk it, please make sure you have a screenshot so you have proof of the valid trade. We’re going to initiate the script daily to lessen the impact of the dupe items in the game economy. I’d like to thank everyone for their patience and support, it’s really been a harrowing experience for all of us.

Thank God, it’s over and done with. well, almost…
I’m one of the lucky ones who has retained their valuables. I’m so sorry for those people who have lost expensive equipments and stuff. Just like my friend who lost his +9 c. buckler, which has been with him since his alchemist days. But at least, that’s all he lost.
We don’t know who the dupers are for certain, but at least we know who aren’t. That’s good enough for now, to know who the people you can trust.
Thank you and sana those people who deserves compensation, will get it in due time.

Good to hear that (correct me if I’m wrong)
the zeny spent and other items traded as payments for the deleted items were to be restored.
Just one more inquiry. What if ung isang item ko bought this May ‘07 ay kasamang nawala ng isa pang item ko na binili last year..will they be processed separately?
Or will the ticket be processed as a whole?
By the way..my ticket number is 4OJX5.

Bakit sinasabi mo ngayon may dupe items pa? Ano ba yan?!? So ibig sabihin di reliable yang script ninyo?
Namimili lang ba yan ng ide-delete? Kasi may mga kilala ako nabura items nila maski legally obtained e. Like hugel race combat knifes na biglang nagkawalaan.

There’s still a window for dupers to do their thing while we’re waiting for the permanent fix. The best we can do for now is to implement the wipe daily on random times. It’s still advisable that you guys avoid big transactions, especially ones that involve boss cards.
With regards to the script process, yes it only deletes items with the same serial number/code. I’ve been getting reports of items being lost that weren’t duped but all of them are bogus so far. When we investigate, the item was indeed duped and the person complaining had even more duped stuff in his possession prior to the wipe.

Paano kapag yung dupe item (di mo alam na dupe) na nabili mo ay nawala pero nalipat mo na sa iba mong account bago nawala, anong username at character name ang ibibigay mo?.. Yung sa account kung saan mo nabili? Or dun kung saan nawala?.. Kung dun kung saan nawala, paano kapag wala kang screenshot ng item na yun dun sa nilipatan mong account?.. Hehe, medyo magulo pero I know maiintindihan mo yan..

Masyadong malaking trabaho yang compensation na yan…mas maganda pa na ‘wag na lang magbigay ng compensation…ituon na lang ang effort sa paghahanap ng mga acct ng duper. Palagay ay marami na sa mga duper ang nagtatangkang i-dispose ang kanilang mga zeny…dami nagse-selling ng zeny sa Prontera…yun kaya ang imbestigahan nyo????

@wauks - sir thank you for the speedy resolution of the dupe issue. sana this will be the last we hear of this. i guess the loss of items for “innocent†players was something expected. as the cliche goes… be careful what you wish for.
sir, if we can bother you with some trivial maters, can we ask kung kelan po ibabalik sa hypermart yung neuralizer? we were put under the impression sir that there was a fatal error with the neuralizer kaya hanggang ngayon di sha maimplement. pero apparently sir, the item works perfectly well sa iRO:

One downside what if the duper uses 3 or more accounts to abuse this compensation wherein
he would file ticket but using an account that
never been involved with a duped item or ever
created a duped item. For example a duper
uses 3 of his/her accounts
A - Duped Exploit Account
B - Decoy Buyer Account
X - Main Account
X give B 300m, B uses 300m to buy duped items
from A. A returned the 300m to X, his/her main
account.
The duper that owns this account filed a ticket.
Claiming his/her B account is a victim of duped.
Since there is no trace of duped items from his/her X account, X won’t be banned. Then B
would get compensated. Now the problem here
B and X never committed an exploit only A.
How this kind of tactic would be resolved so
no one would bother using this scheme.

I check some servers, it seems there are still
duped items around ( guts they sell it awkwardly in pub style ) after 4.00pm of June 22,2007.
So still the best decision is not lay a finger
on equips/items of other characters or even
attempt to buy equips/items for the meantime.
I hope my suggestion of creating a script where
it has the capability of tracking down the
an account would attempt to duped and get it automatically banned be applied. At the same time, it’s a good decision to check the links
in My Level Up accounts and have the accounts linked with the duped account too banned ( only RO accounts) cause there’s a small possibility that they didn’t deleted the link upon creating
their duped account.

The duped removal tactic of LUG is base
from multiple serial numbers of said item.
Original CK and dupped CK as long they have the
same serial number all of it would be deleted.

what if the zeny i used to buy a duped item actually cam from items i duped myself? mahirap maglagay ng compensation policy lalo na kung 1:1 ang compensation. in the end, this will just cause more chaos. ultimately, the only real solution is stop the dupe bug

ang hirap naman po n2, una, ang tagal nung compensation, sabi kac 4 months for items that were purchsed 3 months ago, and another 4 months for items that were purchased earlier(depende pa dun sa number ng ticekts that were/would be filed, e pano kung kailangan n namin un items?
alam namin na hindi ganun kadali ung process, since napakarami talagang naapektuhan ng dupes, kung d ako nagkkamali, inuulan kau ng tickets ngaun… pero di ba pwedeng mas mapabilis ung process? kac last year ko pa nabili un ibang items e, so that would mean i’ll have to wait for atleast 8 months! /wah i mean kung ganun katagal, baka kac marami na mwalan ng gana e.
dag-dag ko lang pala… bakit po ngaun lang ung aksyon nio since ang tagal na ng mga dupe items… naaalala ko pa nga, last july nag send me ng screenshots ng possible dupers nung january,2006 pero wala naman akong natanggap na reply./hmm hindi nman sa cnasabi ko na wala kayong ginawa, ung point ko d2 e mas madali sana aksyonan ang problema kung d pa xa ganun kalala.

In many ways, the dupe item bruhaha is a mirror of the over-materialistic point of view of some pRO players. If the players weren’t so enamored with godlike items and cards, there would be less dupes. In so many words, “It’s only a game dude, chill”.

Any idea when? You’ve already mentioned one month while I’ve heard some haven’t filed yet. Also, can you be more specific on what resources you’ve allocated. How about the split-account/load transfer? You’ve promised us 3-5 working days hehe. Forget the guild guild bug for a while, there aren’t that many guilds affected anyway lol.
Transparency is a good thing. So how about posting in a website the resolved cases? Details like server, char name, date/time resolved, items/zenny compensated. I don’t think that’s too much of additional job considering it helps a lot of anxious players.

Cause they will be checking our Trade Logs/kafra ect…It will be quite suspicius that Account X is giving 300m to B for nothing and B who will be buying Duped Item from Account C for 300m might be compensated but The zeny/item he used for trading would only return thus he is not earning anything

so kelan po namin ma expect na safe na mag buy ng equips? kasi look at this, until the time na sabihin nyo na safe na, yung mga vendors would have no choice, kasi kahit gs2 nila ivend yung items nila, orig man or duped, people would have this notion na dupe yun. sayang yung oras. lalo na kung need ko na kunwari agad ng zeny. now, sa buyer’s point of view, paano naman kung nid ko na ng item na ganito, pero dahil sa takot ko na dupe yun, d ako makabili. hanggang kelan kami mag aantay?

still the damage is done, you can’t back what had been ruined. can’t you think more enough compensation for us players who you really cared about? my suggestion? 2 weeks of free to play would i guess be enough. i know how much you love us. buts please don’t love us bcoz of just money, but simply as a player that treasured the game so much. much appreciated for reading wauks. thx
