Gaming: Ragnarok Weekly Update (6.27.07)

Tomorrow will be another maintenance day so there’s the weekly update on what will be happening. Gravity will be applying another patch tomorrow that will try to address the lag/dc problem that has been plauging Baldur and Freya. Other than the dupe issue, that’s one of the most pressing matters that needs to be addressed ASAP. If the maps still crash tomorrow, then there’s a good chance that we will extend the RPC Agit Lord break for an additional week for affected servers. Stay tuned for more updates on this one tomorrow afternoon after we apply the patch. Other details after the jump.

Hugel Monster Race
We’ve discovered a critical error with the Hugel Monster Race and we will be indefinitely taking this feature down until the bug is resolved. I’d like to thank the players who raised this to me a few days ago via YM and e-mail.

RO OST Headgear Awarding
Players who bought the OST will get their items inserted tomorrow morning. There will be two batches, tomorrow and next Wednesday. After that, all other OSTs will have a redemption code which you can just input via the OST website to get the headgear. We will sell the OSTs in the Level-up Office once the redemption card is finished (probably next week).

Sakray Rachel Update
Sakray will be wiped tomorrow morning. We will be uploading the Rachel update and the server will be on 5x/3x for the next month of testing. I think the official announcement is already posted on the website.

With regards to the character and game time transfer, we’ll come out with an announcement tomorrow about both issues. If I’m not mistaken, they will be fixed starting tomorrow as well so that’s definitely good news for the people who are asking for it. Lastly, regarding the rebirth bug, please file a ticket for that. If you guys don’t then it will take a while before it’s fixed. I’m also going to change some rules here in the blog. I’ll be posting the updated rules maybe tonight when I get home.

    Lost my +7 hard Formal. My item was already in my possesion even before the Server Merge (if that’s what i remember). I was just playing last June 24,2007 from 1:30pm to 9:30pm and i have observe when i was done selling my other item and i was going to equip my gunslinger (btw i erased this character because of my frustration, the name [CoDy]) a was observed my formal suit that is equip with my priest is gone and i tried searching in my kafra and character as well, it’s not there!! before i done playing last june 20-23 i did left it with my priest. i want to know if it is dupe or not or did i drop it somewhere but as i have remebered i did left it with my priest. if the GM team did identify it as a dupe will they be returning my zeny? if it is lost somewhere i would like to be notified to my email or even if dupe i want to be notified.please help me wauks!!!!(NOT THE CORRECT INFO, SORRY WAUKS!!)

    the FF either True or False. If false, please
    explain why.

    1)Authentic items are not included in deletion, unless it’s been used for duplicating.

    2)Only duplicate equips/cards and the authentic
    equips/cards used to duplicate are deleted.

    3)Sad to say, other items such as yggdrasil berry, poison bottles, gold and other consumables that been duplicated are not included in the duped wipeout.

    4)Accounts which never had any duped
    items even if traced but recieved
    zeny from the duped accounts didn’t
    get banned.

    5)There’s no security for buying equips/items for the meantime since there’s still duped even after the duped wipeout.

    6)Players that are dupers
    that created false claims and
    sends ticket to CS and have enough proof to
    be called innocent later be compensated.

    I hope the ff question/statements
    to be answered later.
    This comment already been posted in recent

    Dunno if this helps but I’ll try to answer them (since wauks didn’t seem to reply to the previous post you made; hopefully my post brings up the focus :)

    1)Authentic items are not included in deletion, unless it’s been used for duplicating.
    -> Well I sure hope they are not. Like I mentioned in the previous topic, when an item is cloned, both items are considered as dupes. Imagine you have a magic rod that can clone an umbrella. And when you clone an umbrella there is *absolutely no way* for you to distinguish between the original and the clone. So, which one is the “real” umbrella? By Gravity’s script, both are considered duplicates and are removed from reality.

    2)Only duplicate equips/cards and the authentic
    equips/cards used to duplicate are deleted.
    -> I’m guessing this is the utopic scenario. I’ll keep silent with cards though :P

    3)Sad to say, other items such as yggdrasil berry, poison bottles, gold and other consumables that been duplicated are not included in the duped wipeout.
    -> I’m pretty sure they won’t be wiped out with the script by Gravity. But then again we’re not precluding the fact that LU GMs may have conducted their own investigations as well. After all, it should be easy searching for 50 or more Ghostring cards on a single character inventory, isn’t it? :)

    4)Accounts which never had any duped

    zeny from the duped accounts didn’t

    -> No idea here. I have no idea what criteria they used for banning.

    -> I hope not :( Although some might be - it’s pretty hard to use the logs Gravity provides the GMs since in the Philippines, we usually have Dynamic IPs and NATed internet shops. Investigation will definitely be complicated.

    know there are lot of issues not yet resolved
    but for some reason. A lot of players from
    Thor are quitting already due to the extremely
    increasing number of players using 3rd party
    programs everyday.
    Well, for my point of view, Thor is less
    priority due to few players playing in that
    server.
    Despite the less number amount of players
    manually play in that server, 60% of the
    Thor population is already made up of 3rd party
    programs as to date.
    Please announce whether no one really care anymore with this server and don’t create
    anymore promises unless it’s done.
    Thorians already have suffered from lot’s of
    bugs and issues.
    I think Thor is also not included in the recent
    dupe wipeout too for the fact that this server
    only had a few accounts/players online.
    Then maybe it’s a good idea to merge Thor in
    other servers if you there is no hope for it
    to be Bot-Free anymore.
    Thank you for the previous efforts done for
    saving Thor but it seems like the duped problem, 3rd party program is already out of hand.

  71. Thor is in flames and yet you have your firefighters staring in the wrong direction. LU will never confirm that Thor is a bot server, since confirming it will make their policies false and the likes. Nevertheless, Thor entered the world with bright colors, now it is heading for the dark world. Yes, Thor should be merged with Tyr (opinion)

    if u ask me kung satisfied me sa services ng LU?? my answer will definitely a big “NO”… para kasing pinababayaan na nila RO1, dahil ba ung launching ng RO2 is just around the corner?? the way i see it kac, parang ganito ang gusto nila mangyari e… parang pinapabayaan nila RO1, to give way for RO2, which i think is unfair, especially to those people who have considered this game as their 2nd home… i know that lots of people(gm team, management or even players) would have to disagree with me, but this is how i see it.

    i hope u’ll be able to read this, so u’ll have the chance to prove me wrong…

    … anyways i just hope that u get through this… i would love to play RO1 once u got it over with.


  73. bakit d nlng po sabihin anong bug ung nsa hugel??? total wla na mini games… pakisabi kung anu ung bug po kc na stuck yung medals ko prang 1month din aq dun sa 2 accts ko at wla pa akong napapalitan… /swt
