Gaming: Ragnarok Weekly Bug Update (7.8.07)

As promised, I’ll be doing a weekly bug update. This is in order to promote some more transparency, as well as to let you guys know that we’re doing something about them. One of the misconceptions is that we ignore and shrug off minor bugs but the truth is we really try everything humanly possible to speed up the fix. Anyway, the bugs I list down here are sent to me by the Ragnarok Game Management team, which is headed by GM Homura along with GM Rafael, Anael, and Jibrielle. If there are any bugs that you know that are not listed here, kindly leave a comment with the bug details.

Before I list the bugs, I just want to share with everyone the process for bug fixing. First, let me clarify the roles of Level-up Games and Gravity. Level-up is the game publisher which means that Level-up handles marketing, distribution, and localization of the product. Gravity, on the other hand, is the developer. As the developer, Gravity is the only one who can apply changes to the actual client - this includes in-game features and bug/exploit fixes. Upon discovery of in-game related problems like bugs and exploits, Level-up needs to escalate them to Gravity for them to fix the issue.

Dupe Bug
Description: Players can duplicate items when the servers go down.
Status: Escalated to Gravity. Implemented security measures which will prevent duping if the server down is scheduled. We already have the dupe wipe script and we will use it as much as we can until Gravity gives us the final patch fix. GM/CS Team currently compensating players who were affected by the wipe with the zenny/item that they used to trade for the wiped dupe item.

* In relation to the dupe bug, we removed the Hugel Monster Race to prevent abuse of the medal system.

Rebirth Bug
Description: High 1st Job Class characters cannot change into Transcendent jobs. The Book of Ymir does not teleport them to Valkyrie Hall. The bug has only affected several players from servers that experienced major rollbacks.
Status: Bug confirmed and tested. Escalated already to Gravity and waiting for patch fix.
Note: As a temporary solution, players can file a ticket and the GMs can manually transcend their characters via the GM Tool. The problem is that this may take some time to resolve due to the ticket backlog created by the dupe wipe compensation.

Gunslinger Bullet Bug
Description: Gunslinger bullets are sometimes replaced randomly while changing maps.
Status: Escalated already to Gravity. We advise Gunslingers to check their bullets each time they change maps until this is fixed.

Neuralizer Bug
Description: When double clicked, the item does not reset the skill points of the player.
Status: Escalated already to Gravity. Removed from the Item Mall until it’s fixed.

Mail System Bug
Description: There are some instances when the items/zenny being sent in the mail are lost.
Status: Escalated to Gravity - removed from in-game to prevent further occurances of lost items. Fixed in other countries through the Rachel patch. We’ve already asked Gravity to implement the fix as early as now.

There are some more bugs listed that were sent to me but I still have to confirm their status so I’m not posting them here yet. I’ll try to get some more information Monday and I’ll just post another update. This includes the Watery Evasion Bug, Ninja Shadow Leap Bug, and the First Wind Skill Bug.

    hope u respond to my ticket A5XJ7 regarding transcend bug.. its been 2 weeks since i submitted a ticket and 3 weeks since i experienced the bug… imagine almost a month that my load consumed coz of the bug

  3. Just wanted to ask…

    Does Gravity have full control of the game content? Does this mean also, that Level Up can’t request customized items/ patches specific only to pRO? Or is it a case of LUG requesting to Gravity, and Gravity implementing them? Does Gravity have a say if this item would be implemented, or not?

    Level-up can request for in-game content but ultimately it’s up to Gravity. Good examples of LU approved events and items would be:

    Pagdayaw In-game Event (w/Headgear)
    People Power In-game Event (Yellow Bandana)
    The Infamous Donita and Ligaya (Wala pa ako niyan ha XD)

    We have two in-game events coming up that were requested by Level-up, so watch out for those.

    sir wauks… napapansin ko po every siege lagi po sira ung alde… 3 times ko n po nraranasan to… at hnggng ngaun po d ko mapsok ung char ko, gumising p nmn aq ng maaga ngaun pra mag boss hunt…

    Panu po ung Humonculus bug sa water evasion ng ninja na permanent decrease agi at WOE.

    Nag file ako ng Ticket number 3QW8V and resolved na daw since 13/05/2007 pero HINDE pa din fixed. Sana po tulungan nyo po ang case ko mahirap po mag alaga nang homunculus.

    sa pinost kong website sa previous post ko, ineexplain dun kung pano gawin ung no cast hw without using battle chant. basahin nio. tapos u guys decide if its a bug or not.

    para sakin bug yan. its not supposed to work that way. analyze nio nalng.

    stalker tlga nakaNocast dhil msmlki dagdag ung job sa dex ng stalker kaysa sa highwiz.. ung highwiz pinaguusapan.. 150DEX+ w/o battlechant or marionette control swt if i were u magbasa ka muna pati stalker napasok sa usapan swt

  30. LUINA MAP - Tyr Server (Down for 2 sieges already)
    Status down until now 3:50pm 07/08/07.
    CLOAKING/HIDING SKILL used in entering portals. Tried it already. Parang using the EC no Jitsu style.

  32. How about the bug of deal hack? I’ve heard of this many times already wherein certain players deal another character and the trade cannot be canceled. I encountered this the other day, but the good thing was I did not deal anything, still I could not remove the trade window until I reconnected. If this does not get resolved soon, this will be another bug that certain players can exploit and take advantage of.

    mejo maiiwasan/mababawasan ata ang chance ng pagdupe kapag kinikick muna lahat ng player bago i-down ang server. /ok


  36. homunculus bug
    - kapag nakatapak yung homunculus sa water evasion ng ninja, nagiging perma ung effect.

    - meron din reports na nag-iiba yung sprite ng homunculus like red mushrooms.

    guild bug
    - meron kami naranasan dati, pinagki-kick nya mga members namin sa guild at tinanggal pa yung alliance… samantalang wala naman expeller yung guild position na yun, at biglang nagkaroon.

    amistr castling bug
    - nagha-hide yung owner + castling = sprite bug and no delay AB(parang nakabragis)

    minor bugs:
    - kapagkina-usap mo yung NPC sabay naglakad ka = DC.

    - deal hack bug(check na lang yung info sa RB)

    - ma-LAG kapag katabi mo yung GM mo na merong guild skills na great leadership, wounds of glory, etc., especilly kung nagka-kafra ka.

  39. There are other bugs too. In addition to what rico posted, there’s the Chase Walk uninterruptible Ecall Bug.

  42. Sir Wauks.. i received a riply to my email regarding on my ticket from LUG.last july 1 2007. it said that i can get my compensation after server maintenanc.. but until now i didnt received anything. my ticket number is 5KOC6..please help me to this problem..thank you.. more power to you..

    SHARP GAZE un or SHARP HAWK EYES? its a guild skill =) pero kailangan nga katabi mu sha~ so.. ermmm.. ang iniisip ko kasi eh kung paano maaachieve un nang SOLO lang ganun =)

    ive got it. ULTIMATE def na to =) pero ako so far. SEMI no cast. my SG10 is clocked at .45 seconds *official* kulang na lang bragi. delikado pa rin ako sa pvp kasi tagal ng AFTERdelay =(

    hahhaa oo pag nasa emp yung character ko at katabi ko gm may effect sakin, kaso STR skill ang nilagyan niya eh ~ hindi prioritized mashado ang magic T_T

    >>>From what I’ve heard, 3rd party program daw yan. A guildmember can get guildmaster access (expel members, set alliances, etc.). Buti na lang disable break guild. Baka pwede rin sana yun. Kaya ingat lang kayo sa pag-invite ng members.
