The new engineers from Gravity arrived last week and they’ve been testing the merge together with our GM and IT Teams. Over the weekend they were able to do rather good tests and they have a good feeling that nothing will go wrong on Thursday. Anyway, I just came from a meeting with them this morning and I wanted to give everyone a much needed update on the Server Merge. There have been some developments with the mechanics and I’d also like to share with everyone a WTF moment that happened this morning with regards to the Merge. It’s so insane that I was on the verge of shouting at the engineers.
Additional Mechanics
- Guild Leaders will not be able to change their names. However, we will be able to do a work around by changing your name manually. I’m already coordinating with the CS team on how we will go about doing this. You might need to file a ticket and the GMs will process it batch by batch.
- Mail Box will reset. Those with stuck items in the mailbox should file a ticket ASAP. We’re putting up the official announcement on this one within the day so you might want to wait for it. This usually happens with the Item Mall boxes.
And for the WTF moment?
Would you guys believe that Gravity asked me to change the server groups that will merge this morning? They wanted Chaos to merge with Odin instead and Loki to merge with Fenrir. Of course I vehemently disagreed and eventually forced them to do it the way the we originally planned it. This just goes to show that it’s really hard dealing with Gravity. I got really frustrated but fortunately we were able to do it our way. So one more time, here are the servers that will merge!
Chaos – Loki: BALDUR
Odin – Fenrir: TYR
Sarah – Iris – Lydia: FREYA

This is the third time I’ll be asking this.
1. What will happen to Urdr, Thor and Sakray during the maintenance? Particularly will they be affected by the 20 hour maintenance? If yes, why? If no, how long will these servers be down?
2. Which SPECIFIC feature will affect the non-merging servers?

Di ko pa ma-sagot kasi Gravity is still determining if we can do the merge without having to bring down the other servers. As soon as I get a clear answer from them, I’ll post here.
